I had seen poor reviews for this company and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. All of the things the bad reviews had said were confirmed when I moved in. A profit-hungry agency which does little to care for its properties or tenants is how I would best describe it. Both my housemates and other people I know renting through them say the same thing. They take advantage of the lack of supply of rental accommodation in Reading, and resultantly exploit customers who have no other options. Very poor response time to issues and repairs, lie about the condition of the property, hidden charges and extra costs involved, attempt to overcharge for everything. An awful company. They need to realise that their actions are immoral, and the wellbeing of their tenants should have even a remote amount of priority in their business. Do not recommend unless you are absolutely desperate.

Pilar proprieties has been always helpful and available for any tope of inquiry from my side. Especially Sam who managed to help me arranging virtual meetings to show available properties and sending the most crucial documents in very short period of time, my move form other country to UK went very smoothly thanks to him and his team. Pilar proprieties - very recomendable.

GoogleVery friendly and helpful team. My house share I lived in was really modern. It was beautifully clean and freshly painted when I moved in. The team were so helpful and very quick to respond and resolve when I had to report an issue regarding my en-suite. Would highly recommend

GoogleThe worst letting agency I’ve ever rented through! Coming into the house whenever they want with no notice INCLUDING during covid isolation time when nobody could leave their homes, they would be doing trips between houses on the same day no mask no gloves! Treating tenants like children, not listening to the issues raised, looking through tenants’ cupboards in the kitchen with no permission to go through personal belongings, ignoring serious utility issues in the house, leaving 6 tenants without washing machine or dryer for over a month with an advise of “wash by hand”!!! Slamming every single door they walk through disregarding tenants’ right to quiet enjoyment, and what’s the funniest - throwing away tenants’ property without permission!!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! On top of that they proposed a rent increase of £125-150 a month!!! Absolute joke of an agency, unprofessional and rude, the handyman could do so much better if they at least watched YouTube videos of how to fix things! Useless!

GoogleI have been a tenant with pillar properties for almost four years now. They are by far the best agent in Reading that I have come across both as a tenant and from talking to peers. Firstly they are all very personable, approachable and friendly. It makes a big difference to have someone with a smile and calm nature turn up at your door if there is ever an issue. Although issues rarely occur as they maintain equipment and buildings in the highest order. There are actually two dedicated on site helpers (Justin and Ivan) to fix items and make sure everything is running smoothly. They actually proactively ask is everything okay in the house and is there anything we can do to help. Secondly the administrative team are excellent. Working with them is so easy. They let you know what has to happen, they send you the documentation and they turn things around so efficiently. They too are very polite and personable. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending Pillar Properties to tenants or landlords. If you want to be a happy tenant, where you actually are cared for, then Pillar Properties is the place to be. For landlords if you want a well maintained house with contented tenants then again Pillar Properties is for you.

GoogleContrary to the reviews before me, I had a great experience with Pillar. I’m not trying to mix things up, but you can’t take all reviews at face value. Stayed with them for 1.5yrs and they have been helpful, quick to respond and solve issues. No real fuss from them, and Ivan & team were always ready to help when it was needed. In regards to rent hikes, yes I did have one but it’s normal under current circumstances, and fyi was not near what the last review was quoting. It was reasonable. Overall, I would recommend Pillar. You get a lot of bad estate agents, but I don’t think these guys fit in that category. Thanks Pillar!

GooglePillar Properties were brilliant when showing me around different properties and tried to find one with people I would get on with. They gave us good notice of any work being done/visits to the property and were polite when communicating with us. The other tenants made it a great house to live in and I would recommend Pillar Properties to others when looking in Reading.

I am a landlord who uses Pillar Properties to let my rooms. I have used other agents but have decided to give all my rooms to Pillar Properties to manage. They understand the rental market in Reading which is a huge benefit to their landlords. The team from admin, maintenance and lettings is professional and friendly. They always keep me updated on viewings, vacating tenants, maintenance issues and maintenance costs. For the last two years my occupancy rate has been sky high. Thank you, Pillar Properties.

Recently moved out as I just got engaged so moving home, but had I not been, I'd have loved to stay as a pillar tenant! Great agency, they really care about the tenants. Peaceful landlords. Maintenance issues resolved very quickly and thoroughly. Our house was cleaned professionally weekly, and it didn't even come out of our rent. Team always responsive and polite, from the admin team, to Ivan and the maintenance team. Highly recommend: peaceful stay and professional team.

I have just moved into a Pillar Properties Houseshare in central Reading and I'd highly recommend renting from Pillar Properties. The rooms are of high standard, well furnished and the staff are extremely prompt, supportive and accommodating to tenants requests. I submitted a maintenance issue and within just a couple of hours, this was resolved.

They will not show you any bills that account for the repairs they charge you. Be aware and negotiate your deposit!

But the agency contact called an agency to resolve in the morning and gave excellent advice of how to access the house late night. Excellent company 👍 great to know an agency can help 247

I couldn’t recommend Pillar enough, I rented two properties for over 2 years with them. Sam was always super helpful and quick to respond to any issues even at weekend and in the evenings. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a shared professional house.
