TrustpilotAwful company
Awful company , once they’ve sold you the house they’ll leave you to deal with dirty filthy communal areas . Their “technical “ team couldn’t plant a tree even if their lives depended on it. Everything they planted has died as kids have pulled them all out and use them to fight each other . The plans , which look nothing like what we were shown , have left a large space for kids to play football using our front doors as goal posts . The gates on the electric sub station have been kicked in and now that’s another play area . Bovis , couldn’t care less. Don’t buy from them

TrustpilotI had the unfortunate displeasure of moving into a Bovis Home
I had the unfortunate displeasure of moving into a Bovis Home. I moved into a new build home in the Oxfordshire area and the list of problems were ridiculous. I naively thought a new build would be perfect unlike older builds. The list of problems: all of my door handles and window handles have fallen off for the fourth time, my back yard has flooded several times due to the sewers being block by the builders dumping rumble down them (according to a council investigation), I've had internal doors not being able to close due to poor fittings, I've had builders constantly block my driveway which is really annoying due to my work at the JR hospital, I've also had builders walk into my garden unannounced and use my back garden external tap, I've also had a street light beaming directly into my house disturbing my sleep. I have spoken to the site manager, area manager and customer support and received nothing but fob offs and some abuse. I'm currently considering legal action.

TrustpilotUnprofessional, incompetent & inconsiderate
Awful company - once we’d paid our deposit, their true colours started to show but we had no option than to see it through. They use the cheapest materials & contractors, their quality inspector is a joke, customer care is shocking. 3 years later & we are still waiting for issues to be sorted. We paid just under £600k but had to have the carpets replaced as they were faulty, cut too short & missing most grippers, floor tiles replaced as they were all cut too short & gaps filled in with massive amounts of mastic, wooden floors replaced for the same reasons, walls replaced, every wall & ceiling entirely replastered & repainted, woodwork repainted, all doors replaced, heating system replaced as stuck on 28 degrees for months (they initially convinced us that we had set the thermostat incorrectly but it turned out it had been wired incorrectly & after pulling down all our ceilings to get to the wires, they still couldn’t find the fault so left it & put a wireless thermostat in), plumbing issues including every hot & cold pipe the wrong way around (hot water toilets!), radiators replaces, 43 pieces of glass from windows replaced, external doors that were damaged yet still installed & covered up needed to be replaced, waste pipe from the downstairs wc fitted sloping towards the house so waste was just sitting there & stinking the house out (they had to dig up our driveway, garden & under our house to fix), they forgot to put fitted wardrobes in & when they did, they were incomplete & the rail is 3 inches higher at one side, all mastic was so thick it all had to be replaced, all guttering replaces, roof tiles not fitted properly, garden plans not followed, extractor fans installed in wrong positions so caused damage. These sound like problems that are obviously the builders fault & responsibility yet it has been the most stressful, long battle to get things sorted. They won in the end - wore us down - it made me so ill so we gave up & let them get away with so many thing which we are still paying to get fixed. They are the most utterly unprofessional & inconsiderate company. The whole estate is a dangerous shambles - the children’s playground was build on the rubble they piled up so the ground is covered in dangerous things that have been left to the residents to constantly remove, the drains are full of rubble so are always blocked causing a backlog into everyone’s homes, streetlamps which haven’t even been connected remain, metal railing are half finished, bollards which were broken when they were installed remain. Astounding how this company are still tradingForgot to mention - they build the ground floor with one type of brick & the upper level with another so someone had to come & do a paint effect on the bricks to make them match!

TrustpilotShambles........
We have lived in our Bovis house for coming up to 9 years this year. I’ve been meaning to write a review for some time but having recently done my bathroom this was the final straw. Once they have your money no interest what’s so ever at dealing with any snags/issues. Had to have our garden done several times because of flooding. Fence came down which we had to replace as wasn’t fit for purpose. Had a leak from the bathroom, took the the bath panel off to deal with the problem to find a great pile of rubble swept under the bath. Loose pipes (how it had lasted so long without leaking before is beyond me)Broken bath and shower panel concealed with sealant, this was only found as we have recently redone our bathroom, And now our plumber who has just helped redo our shower etc has told us that our water cylinder needs replacing (they should last around 25-30 years, not 9)I didn’t realise how bad the tiling was until I’ve just done it myself and I’m no expert.God knows what else we’ll find here as time goes on but I honestly don’t know how some people can sleep at night, because I’m sure if it was there house they wouldn’t be so negligent.I would NEVER buy from Bovis again!!!!!!

TrustpilotAwful management
Obviously, this is an organisation that does not care about its reputation and reviews. We have been living in the house for 6 months and a long list of issues seem to be ever-increasing. The site team seemed to be involved in hearing us out and resolving the issues in the beginning and has now decided to drop us like a hot potato. Please steer away from them. I am sure there are better builders in the market.

TrustpilotCustomer care is a job title and not an execution....
Terrible experience with David Boys (customer care manager south east) and his manager Robert Caister. If you have a snag but the contractor does not want to do any remedial work then you are forced by the aforementioned individuals to go to NHBC...of course NHBC do not find in favour as the contractor knows the loop holes. Bovis take no responsibility of ensuring their contractors do the work they are paid to do. Processes are awful. Houses are only as good as the contractors working on them and Bovis put their name to them. When you try to make a complaint further up the line then it’s pushed back down to aforementioned individuals. Disillusioned and disappointed with Bovis and would not recommend people buy a Bovis home.

TrustpilotThe builder that cannot be trusted!
Over 4.5years after buying from Bovis, we are still fighting to get all the defects fixed. We have had to pay for our own surveys to prove the defects, as Bovis ( who re branded as Vistry, in the hope of hiding their previous mistakes) have refused to acknowledge all their bodges. I would rather lick broken glass from the M25 during rush hour, than trust what Bovis promised in their glossy Pamphlet! Once they have your hard earned cash, they do the bare minimum and eventually walk away from you. Disgusting behaviour from what used to be a reputable builder ... shame on the CEO and his henchmen.

TrustpilotThe most diabolical house builder by…
The most diabolical house builder by far!!! Following three bouts of heart surgery we bit the bullet and purchased a new build home from a Bovis (now Vistry), and in December 19 moved into what we thought would be our perfect home thinking there would be nothing to do albeit we anticipated the odd snag here and there. How wrong could we be?We had ordered a wood burning stove which was not installed when we moved in as Bovis had not correctly fireproofed the plaster behind the wood burner (although for months we were fobbed off with other excuses), then the floor tiles on which it was due to sit had to be removed and relevelled as they were ridiculously uneven. We had a cracked bi-fold door glass, and two damaged bi-fold panes, the front and rear gardens were just thick mud - no landscaping whatsoever, paint work was unfinished, we needed new balustrades on the stairs, new internal doors, the front door had been fitted to the wrong side of the door frame, there was a hole in the loft where I could see down to the ground floor which was dangerous as they had just covered it over with lagging. I could go on, suffice to say we ended up getting a professional snagging firm in who found 431 snags, some very serious and others not so.We have spent many weeks accompanying contractors around our property to get things corrected and even post Covid-19 we continue to chase remedial works. We have had NHBC adjudicate on two uneven floors and despite this Bovis has done nothing in the last 6 weeks. Having written emails chasing up the works including writing to Greg Fitzgerald (CEO) and copying him on every email there has been a serious lack of activity. Our landscaping around the development is still piles of mud and all we get is fobbed off.Why did this all happen? Because Bovis had to complete the sale of all houses on this phase of the development pre Christmas so that they had funds in accounts prior to their Financial Year End of 31 December 2019 so all contractors cut short their work, cut corners, bodged finishings, left things in potentially dangerous conditions - all because they chased cash!!!!In summary DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A BOVIS / VISTRY NEW BUILD PROPERTY.This company is nothing short of a cowboy outfit.I wish I could allocate Zero stars on this rating.

TrustpilotUnbelievably Poor
Purchased a new house in Bicester from start to finish it was a nightmare, if I could give them no stars I would. In the end I could not face moving in and sold the property. Six months on I'm still getting bills as it seems Bovis never did any paperwork correctly. I understand the new owner has ongoing problems, strangely ones which I had raised and Bovis told me I was making up. Complaints are just returned with rude Emails from managers. My completion date was pure fantasy, and after eventual completion I was told it was never going to be completed when I was told it would be. They write a six months extension clause into the contract and said contract had a completion date later than the verbal completion date and the estimated quoted completion date so they get 8 or 9 months leeway. Even then on completion much work was incomplete. To list the problems would take a fortnight, they don't care they have no customer service in fact they can't even manage to post paperwork to the correct address or even put a stamp on the envelope. Don't touch with a bar pole if you want to remain sane.

TrustpilotGood morning
Good morningI moved into my new Bovis home at St Mary's Biddenham Bedfordshire on 12th June.Since that date I have been extremely impressed with the service that all those on site have provided.I would like to extend this ,not only to everyone involved, but especially to Ozzie the site manager.I would ask you to let them know how pleased I am with all that they have done to make my move as easy as possible and to thank them on my behalf.I know that many would say that they are only doing their job but I believe that, especially in Ozzies case, they are going out of their way to make things as stress free as possible and to put their clients first. My thanks go to all of themRita Carroll, 9 Skater Walk, Biddenham MK40 4UR

Update on my Bovis experience. Despite many expert witness reports dealing with-defective windows in all of house-faulty heating system-lack of insulation so parts of house damp and very cold-building regs breaches-missing radon barrier- serious structul issues-sewer overflowing contaminating garden so as to be unsafe to use--and so many more recorded and recognised defects, which have now been going on for more than four years,Bovis have abandoned their legal obligations to rectify all of above forcing legal redress.A corrupt company, now named Vistry Partnership, that no one should buy a house from. 0 rating !!

TrustpilotAVOID!
Bovis saw me coming, a single mum of 3 children, all under 10 I saved for years to be able to purchase a home for us all. Due to personal circumstances and a naivety about home buying, I put my trust in the Bovis representatives. As a consequence, I later discovered I had paid £30-40k over the house value - that's without the additional upgrades of over 5k. On top of that the house has so many issues internally and externally, for which getting a resolution has been slow, difficult and stressful;18 months later several issues are unresolved. I have sunk into a deep depression, trapped in a home that feels like a noose around my neck AVOID BOVIS, they are immoral.

TrustpilotBovis exceeded our expectations!!
Bovis exceeded every expectation we had! After reading the reviews but finding our forever home we decided to take the risk and move forward with Bovis. We are on the Flitwick site and received outstanding care (especially from Wendy and Marion), no problem was too much hassle and they guided us through every step and being first time buyers we really appreciated this. We completed the snagging before we moved in and everything was completed to a good standard. Would definitely recommend the Flitwick Froghall field team as they have made the process of buying our first home as stress free as possible.

TrustpilotLook elsewhere
Lied to from the start. Our experience has been awful. We love the home, but there’s so many issues and they’re not getting fixed. Painters been in half a dozen times and it’s still not corrected. Garage floods in winter but told it’s not meant to have anything other than a car in. Storage in one cupboard and an airing cupboard. No storage allowed on roof or garage. A major issue we weren’t made aware of.All they do is meet standards and don’t care about the customer.

TrustpilotSHUT BOVIS DOWN!
Bovis are the worst house builder I have ever seen. I would give them 0 stars if that was possible. The service along with the poor building quality leads to the worst new build developer out there. We brought a Bovis home as our first house and it has ruined our entire experience. The build quality is shocking due to leaking baths, poor painting skills, bowed front doors, poorly fitted panels, contracts put in place by bovis but not followed through leaving us to deal with the issues. Words can not describe how angry and frustrated bovis make us feel. They have not only taken our money but they have taken up all of our time making us constantly use up our holiday allowance so that they can come and assess a problem for the 4,5,6th time just with a different person. It took 4 months of a leaking shower screen and countless times of me telling them where it was coming from to which they did not listen and told us that we were making it up even though I had filmed and taken photos and sent it to the site manager every time it happened. Eventually the site manager showed his face after countless times of saying to him for him to come along and I pointed out where the issue was and it was sorted in 5 minutes. The lack of care bovis show is disgusting. The quality of finish is so poor. I have been told countless times by Ruth Copeland customer care director for the western region that each house goes through various checks carried out by site teams and a director. I have told them on multiple occasions whoever gave our house the green light to say it is finished is either completely stupid and has zero experience or just simply does not care. I put it down to both things. The CEO Greg Fitzgerald does not even care about customers or their experience because in his eyes they have our money and they do not need us anymore, countless times I have emailed him about the issues and I get nothing but other than to speak to the useless managers below him that have no interest in sorting our problems and just want us to be quiet and put up with it. Bovis should not be allowed to trade as a new house builder as like other reviews I have read if the quality we can see is shocking then it makes you wonder what we can’t see. Bovis need to be shut down to stop more people from having such an awful experience. We are 10 months into our first home and already are looking to move as quickly as possible.SHUT BOVIS DOWN!

TrustpilotNot great
In terms of customer service, they’re ok however we was promised the house would be ready by November 2020. Due to the current situation, this was delayed to March 2021 which we completely understand. A couple months later they told us the house would be ready in June/July and not March. This is the only complaint we have against Bovis as we was supposed to be in our house by now, but it was delayed several times.

TrustpilotVirtually Criminal - AVOID
Appalling and practically criminal.Update: 11/03/2020: Still no response to my requests for a refund. Legal action is obviously necessary with this type of organisation. We reserved a house off plan virtually three years ago on the Longford Park development in North Oxfordshire and duly paid our deposit. The lead time to the build completion was 12 months. During that time we experienced valuation and mortgage issues with the property, but despite this we continued to pursue the purchase and went so far to order and pay for extras / upgrades. Little did we know, that when we paid for the additional features our reserved property had already been sold to someone else, which is contrary to applicable regulations. We understand the same sales-person who took the payment also sold the property several weeks earlier. To me this is fraud - taking money under false pretences. They subsequently pulled the sale from under us, without consultation of notification, we found out via a third party. Incredible!! The same sales representative or malefactor as I see it, was extremely rude when we tried to discuss / understand the situation and all meeting requests fell on deaf ears. However, the worst thing is despite breaking the rules, Bovis have refused to reimburse the deposit or the moneys paid for the extras, despite the numerous request over the years. In fact we have had no response to our recent correspondence. We were forced to start our house search and negotiation with another developer again, a year after we first put down our deposit with Bovis. The impact was we have lost the money we directly paid and we have lost money due to the market price increase over the period. Ergo, this translates to a loss of in the region of £9000.00 I have reported this to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, although whether they take action remains to be seen. I will purse Bovis through the small claims court as I now feel I have no other options available. For your information. The Longford Park site has had numerous instances of high profile complaints and I am familiar with copious anecdotal instances from neighbours and traders of extremely poor quality builds. In fact the people who purchased the house we reserved, where coerced into moving in without hot water to allow the site to meet its end of year targets. I fully appreciate Bovis often offer what appear to be good sales deals, but the reality is, the savings you seem to make are often lost through poor quality control and inconvenience due to significant remediation, another neighbour needed their whole house re-rendered. Or like us, they will simply take your money and pull the rug from under you.The bottom line is to beware and seriously consider your options before dealing with this company which appears to me more like the front for an organised criminal agency that a reputable developer.

TrustpilotWe bought our new Bovis home in…
We bought our new Bovis home in Maidstone last June, We were amazed at the attention to detail and the finish of our home. We have had a few snagging issue, which you would expect in a new home but nothing major. The sales team when we bought were brilliant, the on site manager was great and dealt with the initial snagging list one week after we moved in. Since then we have been dealing with customer care and, although a little slow, anything else thats popped up has been dealt with. I would have been put off buying our homes after reading these reviews, so this prompted mine. We are very happy in our new home.

We bought a Bovis House in October 19 in Flore. The service we have received from the sales office to the site manager has been great. I can't say it's been trouble free and have had a couple of leeks and the odd bits of snagging, but they were resolved very quickly. The house has been signed off now and we are in the care of customer service, so it may become more difficult, but up until now it's been great and love the house.

No one ever has. My husband ended up gaving to sort the wrongly connected soil pipe causing sewage smell in the kitchen. Substandard workmanshil all round. Obviously the company has skimped in their workers preferting to pay rock bottom rather than skilled workers. All profits going to people at the top. The company is a disgrace, no wonder they have cganged their name.

TrustpilotI would not recommend bovis to anybody
I would not recommend bovis to anybody. Unfortunately I can’t give them 0 stars so begrudgingly they have 1.Hera are a few of the reasons why I rate them so badly:1) They built our house wrong and had to knock it down delaying our completion date by months. I had to walk them to our plot and explain what they had done wrong.2) They gave us the wrong plans when we reserved the house. Our property has dorma windows on the top floor and we were sold a full height three storey house. Again I had to take them to a plot and show them photographs of what we had signed for and how the property they were building was different.3) the sales team, site managers and customer service staff have all been useless, never returning calls, answering emails and on occasions incredibly rude and insulting. I was told after moving into my property by the site manager that I “had not paid enough money to expect a good quality home”. Unfortunately they don’t put this on the brochure.4) Endless snags, some we have had to involve outside agencies in. Three years in and we are stil fighting. 5) on the occasions they have fixed something they’ve broken two other things in the process. For example they re-tiled the bathroom following a leak and managed to crack a floor tile and brake the shower screen, which we are now in our 6th month of battling with them to come back and fix. I could go on forever. I was going to make a list of the positives as It would have been quicker but there really aren’t any. My only advice would be if you are reading this before you have committed then run for your lives.

TrustpilotExtremely poor sales woman
This isn't about a brought bovis home but a terrible experience me and my husband had at the longhedge village, amesbury show home on 07/02/20 @1400.We walked into the office asking to view the show home as we have been looking around the area for our perfect home. The woman who was working at the time said "sorry we only have a 5 bed show home" and looked at at us up and down. We said "yes, can we view it please" she then went on to say that only people who wanted to buy the 5 bed home were allowed to view it. So we asked if we didn't look good enough to buy a 5 bed home and she came back with a very sarcastic comment. We were in fact looking at a 5 bed home, but if we weren't then why couldn't we go into the show home and look at the quality of the build? We're both really disappointed with this ladys reaction and now want nothing to do with bovis. It's a shame how one poor sales woman can ruin a potential sale or more!
