Within the last week I have just purchased a house from Carter & King. From the first meeting with the charming Yousaf Hussain, I have received impeccable help, service, advice and understanding. They have gone far beyond I think most peoples expectations and have proven that not all estate agents are equal. A special mention to Kristie Gray who has the patience of a saint and the resolve to pursue the purchase through to its conclusion. I cannot thank them enough . This is the second time we have used Carter and King and we can’t recommend them highly enough! Youssaf was professional, knowledgeable and personable during the initial viewing of our new home and marketing our previous home. Morgan looked after us so well during the buying and viewing process and was always professional, efficient and a great communicator. With regards the progression of our sale and purchase, Kristie was a star - she was so on the ball, acting in our best interests at all times, providing us with regular updates. Moving house can be a stressful experience but I can honestly say Carter and King were absolutely fantastic and made the whole process as painless as possible! 😊

As a cash buyer who just pulled out from a property which C&K is acting for in the very last stage, I will NEVER EVER do any viewing or buying if the property is listed with them. A message to the vendors: this estate agent could put buyers off. Viewing with Chloe was great. She was great in communication. But things went really downhill once the case was passed to the "sales progressor". 1) there were two breaches of covenant and we requested the vendor to resolved both before we progressed. The sale progressor told a month to repeat the same thing that the vendor refused to do anything. Not until Chloe who stepped in and get the vendor agreed on sorting it. 2) C&K kept on calling and emailing if there were outstanding enquiries. My solicitor and I have mentioned those outstanding enquiries have to be answered by the vendor's solicitor but NOT the estate agent so that I can get myself legally covered. C&K just replied those enquiries via email and kept on asking me what's outstanding and tried to push a exchange date. At that point, there were still enquiries that had not be fully answered and they only cared about the money (i.e. their commission). 3) I have arranged a contractor to do the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) check-up AT MY OWN COST and the contractor has arranged a time with C&K. The engineer who arrived that day told me that the vendor refused to let them going to the second floor for some reasons and he couldn't do any check after an hour of waiting. C&K couldn't get in touch with the vendor either. C&K kept on saying the property was built in early 2000s and "regulation keeps on changing" and no way that the property will be passing EICR - which is not true since that contractor has done work in the same estate and he knew well about this is doggy. And a week or two later, I have received an email from C&K that the vendor refused to do any EICR check. When I told them I am going to pull out from the sale, they changed and said the vendor was willing to allow me to do the check. Now looking back, I think they only care about their commission. (okay fair enough they are estate agent after all.) I found it funny that their director and I had a call on a Friday (around 10/ 11ish) talking about there were still outstanding enquiries* and my contractor being refused to do the EICR check, then the director asked "so is that possible to do exchange this afternoon?" My colleague who heard the whole conversation said "that's mad". And I completely agreed. I pulled out from this sale and decided for the sake of my mental health and blood pressure, stay aware from C&K.

I have recently brought a house with Carter and king. Honestly they went above and beyond to get everything sorted for us. Morgan was amazing from the first point of contact with her, got us multiple views on the property and always answered any questions I emailed over. We also dealt with Kristie who always kept us in the loop, explained processes to me that I didn’t quite understand and fought to get us in the property in time for our rental to be up! It was all round a brilliant experience and I feel that the people I spoke to at Carter and king did more than I would have expected. Very grateful. Carter and King were recommended to me, so I called them for a valuation and spoke to a very pleasant lady who assured me that the Director was going to give me a call at a set time and date agreed to discuss my property, however he did not call me. Luckily I had valuations booked in with other agents who welcomed my prospective business. Wouldn’t recommend Carter and King as a reputable estate agent unfortunately after this experience. It is courteous to let customers know if they can’t keep an appointment….

I had a very positive experience using Carter & King. The valuation for the property was higher than we expected but, in hindsight, correct.
