Complete disappointment

I have never left a Trustpilot review before but I am now at the end of my tether. Well over a year & I still have a growing & extensive snagging list. The tradesmen used to build the house have paid absolutely no attention to detail to even basic building work with slap dash finishing inside & out. Trying to get Rowland Homes to schedule any work to be done is a constant battle with excuse after excuse from onsite staff. Not only have we had numerous replacement site managers who mostly have shown little to no interest at all, we now have an on site customer care manager who has so far shown the same level of interest as the rest. Complete chaos, no shows, no communication, no action. Constantly having to chase for updates & being fobbed off.As for the Customer Care team at head office, there is no proactive support or assistance from them to try to get things completed. What should have been a lovely new home continues to be a complete disappointment & I see no end to it. The time spent trying to get the builders to do what is merely their job & to a good standard is a constant frustration & I would not recommend Rowland homes to anyone.

Jubilee Gardens Euxton

After living on Jubilee Gardens for the last 9 months I can honestly say that everything has been great with the house. We have had no issues since our snags were dealt with as soon as we moved in. Steven in the site office has always been on hand, helpful and very knowledgeable if we have had to ask any questions. We also love the area of Euxton which has great facilities, local transport and supermarkets with easy access whilst still having a village feel.

Quality of House Build Poor

Initially the team were super helpful until faults and major issues were identified with the house. I have had a major leak in the downstairs cloakroom and garage for nearly 18 months. The Head Office Customer care team have been super helpful but the on site management team have been glacial in their actions and communication has been less than poor as a standard with excuse after excuse. Would I now on reflection buy a Rowland Home and recommend, the answer would be no. The Sales team are economical in there transparency of maintenance charges and once the transaction is complete wash there hands of anything and handover to the site team which has management and contractors change almost monthly and my home has been no more than a building site for nearly 4 months with the management team walking past it daily. Contractors are changed due to bad practices and "sacked" regularly this is hardly a good practice and more importantly not what you would wish for the home you would want to invest in. I would highly recommend anyone purchasing to invest in a independent survey for piece of mind as the smoke and mirrors you will be given on site will be economical with the truth at best and will change depending on who you speak to.

They really, really don’t care.

Not sure how Rowlands get these reviews. Anyway, before they conspire to get this one pulled, any chance they can reply with one word answers to the following?1. Do Rowlands think the standard of surfacing and in particular Kerb works on Pear Tree Grange is acceptable?2. Bearing in mind it’s taken three attempts to get to the current state of Shoddiness, I think each customer deserves compensation for the inconvenience thus far, I reckon £250 each is fair enough, do you agree?3. Are you embarrassed that a new development in an ideal spot has such an appalling finish, despite Kerbing and Tarmaccing being fairly straightforward?4. Are you embarrassed that even after one of your Directors said the Road contractors were poor, that you used them once again, with the same end result?**Update** No reply or acknowledgment from Rowlands, the Spraypaint on the Footpath outside the House is still there well over a year after telling them about it, and they are so Customer focused, that a Canopy that leaks every time it Rains is met with the reply that as it’s over two years old, it ain’t their problem. Be warned, as soon as they get your money, you become nothing more than an irritant to them.Now, they will probably have you believe I’m a moaner, but surely a moaner would have kicked off about the maintenance man getting white ceiling paint on a cream wall - I didn’t.A moaner would have made them rip out the stairs that don’t fit correctly - I didn’t.A Moaner would complain about the Garage doorframe that flaps loose every time the door closes - I didn’t. Currently they are making a 5th attempt at getting the paths and Driveways up to standard, resulting in patchwork Tarmac everywhere.Buyer’s need to aware of Rowlands atrocious attitude, which is an absolute pity, because the Houses are well designed and really good looking Homes, and I like mine. I pointed out to a Director that they could have an excellent reputation to be proud of if they actually communicate etc, but nowt changes.

A new beginning in Garstang

In March of this year we first visited Heritage Park in Garstang and met Andrew Rhodes in the Sales Office. Little did we realise that 9 months later we would have been in our new house for 5 weeks. The whole journey with its ups and downs was supported by Andrew every step of the way. He made what can be a very stressful journey so much easier. I recently moved into a Rowland Homes build a year ago, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Good attention to detail and craftsmanship throughout the house, you expect pages of snags when you buy a new build but of the snags picked up by surveyors, all were minor that were sorted very quick. I want to mention specifically Assistant Site Manager Peter for his exceptional commitment; he consistently went above and beyond to address any concerns or queries promptly. His dedication very much enhanced the overall positive experience of settling into my new home.It it werent for the amazing experience with Pete and his support during and after build it’s be 4 stars, only because of experience at point of sale (not during build), the mandated 30 days to complete (which normally takes around 40 days) isn’t possible and I was told by head office if I didn’t sort it the property would be put back on the market. Not a stressful experience unique to me but that was litterally the only issue I had. Loving the house, the support and the neighbours 🙂

Thumbs up for Rowland Homes

We started our house buying process 7 months ago at Richmond Point in Lytham St Anne's. We're not from the area so needed a certain amount of flexibility as well as extra detail from the Rowland team, not having the local knowledge that we'd have liked. We were guided along the purchase process with regular phone calls to check where we were up to with our progress and kept up-to-date with our moving date once we had completed everything on our side. Our moving date was pushed back around 2 weeks due to an on-site theft of front doors but otherwise, it was a seamless process.Since we moved in 2 months ago, we have had many dealings with Rowland staff and contractors due to the expected snagging list that comes with buying a new build. Issues have been small such as windows/doors needing adjustment, small scratches on high-gloss kitchen doors, tile repair, re-sealing/re-grouting of areas of bathrooms which weren't quite up to standard, re-sizing of internal doors once we had our own carpets fitted, re-fitting of loose flag stones and minor electrical works such as re-wiring switches that weren't switching on the expected lights. Rowland also sent a decorator to us for the day to touch-up and areas of paintwork we weren't happy with, including damage we did ourselves when we moved our things in.I have worked on many sites and dealt with numerous site employees and have never dealt with such professionalism and courtesy on a blanket scale. Not only the Rowlands employees themselves but also the contractors have all been personable, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and extremely flexible when working around my 1-year-old's naps. Any construction vehicles have rushed to move out of my way if they have blocked the entrance / exit to my street and they always apologise for the inconvenience. I have to mention Shaun by name who has coordinated all of the works that have taken place for us, checked that we're happy with the work once it's been done, kept us up-to-date with who should be contacting us and when, and generally been a friendly face which has been much appreciated when newly moving into the area and knowing nobody. It has taken a lot of coordination on some occasions, with some unavoidable cancellations etc but Shaun has always endeavoured to get things done when we have needed them and hasn't once made us feel like we're asking too much.We're really impressed with the Rowlands team, we love our home and the lovely neighbours are a bonus.

Beautiful house well built

We bought our first home in the UK from the heritage park development of Rowland homes and have had a very positive experience so far with the company and process.The quality of the house was brilliant. We got a professional snagger who identified several issues most of which were decorative and cosmetic. The site manager and assistant quickly got to work fixing all the issues and by 3 weeks, they were all mostly fixed or had been booked in for fixing. Things that needed replacing were replaced and we were adequately compensated for the issues we opted to forgo. This is actually a 4.5 review just that there's no way to choose that option.The only reason this is not 5 stars is that we haven't lived in more than 6 months so I will update the review after 6 months. So far, we love our house and love the locality.

An excellent experience and a beautiful house

We purchased and moved in within 5 weeks. Rowland worked with us on a weekly basis and their conveyancing team were excellent with our solicitor. Site manager has been really excellent on site. Snagging, small issues and queries all sorted speedily and with good humour and pleasantness. The house is bigger than we expected and room sizes generous- which was a surprise to us with usual talk about new builds. We genuinely can’t fault our experience so far and we’re delighted with a house we can just relax in after years of renovation projects and old house issues. Highly recommend if they have a development in your area.

Avoid this builder.

Omg where do I start. Initially the sales person was a complete liar who causes no end of problems. He smokes in the sales office too which is gross at best. We have had no end of snagging (not small issues either). The customer care team are never available other than to ask you to email in and the replies are usually two weeks plus. I would avoid buying from these builders at all cost. The only positive we have experienced is moving to a beautiful area.

Nice house, BAD service

Love the layout and design of the house. Competitive pricing for the area. Extras are overpriced (but that's all bew build companies). I could NOT recommend house purchases with Rowland as their after sales service is shockingly bad. Over 12 months we have been waiting for remedial works to be completed (and in many cases even looked at). The only reason half of our snag list had been resolved is by going direct to the contractor. Excuse after excuse of why works haven't been completed. And most of them time they say they will get in touch but never do. I very very rarely ever review companies but in this case I felt it important to pre warn others of the non existent after sales service from Rowland.

What can we say about our forever home … Kiera our sales executive went above and beyond for us threw the whole home buying experience .. nothing was too much trouble her professionalism is second to none ! The specification on our home is top spec … even our snagging list only contained 2 points .. a little bit of painting on the bottom of a door … we love love love our new home .. Customer Service and After the sale experience.

The customer service and after sales experience from this company is absolutely horrendous. Bought half a million pound house… and it’s basically.. here’s your keys now F off! So many issues unaddressed after 3 months of moving in, and constant excuses of staff turnover etc etc. They have no problem throwing up new house after new house, but can’t fix the shoddy finishing and terrible build quality in our new house 3 months on! We have been nothing but patient and gave them plenty of chance to get it sorted. And then we have just found out that some other people on site (who have moved in after us) have ahead most of their issues resolved!! Clearly we have been too nice and far too patient. Disgraceful company.
