Good experience until you sign

I had a generally positive experience with Johns&Co when it came to finding a flat. The paperwork and signing process were quick and smooth, which I appreciated.However, we were told the apartment would undergo a deep clean before we moved in, and the landlord had paid Johns&Co to arrange this. Unfortunately, upon arrival, it was clear the flat hadn’t been properly cleaned. There was leftover food in the drawers, stains on the carpet, a strong odour in the bedroom and even mucus on the front door phone.We raised these issues with the team, but they attempted to shift responsibility away from themselves. Even the landlord had to get involved, but despite numerous promises to send the cleaning team (their contractors), they claimed the cleaners weren’t responding to their emails and made no effort otherwise.In summary, while you can count on an efficient process for signing and moving in, I wouldn’t expect timely or thorough follow-up on issues, particularly if the property is managed by them.

Have been renting from John’s and Co for the last eight years that I’ve been in London and Sam has been the best agent ever when it comes to helping me sort out and find a flat and . He really cares and helps find the best deal every single time . even when I’ve had other issues whether it was with a person taking care of my flat or renewing a contract he’s always made sure to participate in making sure that it was as efficient and as stress for me as possible . Every appartement I’ve lived in was found by him and he is very easy to join anytime. He is super helpful and very understanding of your needs and tries his best to make your experience as easy as possible. He is super friendly and makes the process so easy as some agents tend to give up or not care if you’re not interested in the initial property they’ve shown, or the most expensive . Currently looking for my next home with him !

I previously left this company a positive review, and to be fair, they do a reasonable job of finding tenants. Now that the tenancy has ended, however, I feel obliged to share the full picture: once they have your money, you are simply ignored. John & Co Completely Failed & Negligence - Uninhabitable, Filthy Conditions,

I have had appalling experience I encountered with John & Co on August 10th. The state of the apartment they offered was nothing short of disgraceful, uninhabitable by any reasonable standard. Feces in toilet, food smeared on wall. John & Co were informed but have done nothing. It has now been a week.Upon my arrival at 11:00 AM, I was met with conditions that left me no choice but to seek alternative accommodation, incurring additional costs that should never have been necessary. The apartment was in a revolting state: food residues clinging to the walls, unflushed fecal matter in the toilet (an obvious sign it hadn’t been cleaned at all), filthy floors, and sinks that were anything but sanitary. These are not minor oversights, they are severe violations of the rental agreement.I had a moving company scheduled for the following Tuesday, but thanks to John & Co's complete negligence, I have now neede to move the movers, make other accommodations as the apartment is simply unfit for habitation. While I am hesitant to take legal action, so much time has passed without action I am unclear on what is necessary to have basic tenant agreements met. I will have no choice but to delay the start of my lease or demand a prorated refund for each day that the apartment remains unusable. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, such as a previous tenant neglecting to clean up, but this in no way excuses John & Co’s failure to ensure that the apartment met basic cleanliness standards before offering it to a new tenant. UPDATE:John & Co - I reached out immediately regarding the issues and you have done nothing.In fact, these problems stem because you required my landlord to use your cleaners for £500 where you get a kickback caused these issues. SHAME ON YOU.Also, the toilet seat was broken so there was no functioning bathroom!

Both Isobel and Rayen have been fantastic throughout the entire process of finding and securing a new flat to rent. They’ve been knowledgeable, answered all my questions in full, furthermore provided very clear instructions regarding action items, timelines and milestones (landlord communication, referencing, deposit, moving in info, contacts etc.). Going the extra mile ........and then more....and then more

I worked with Jonathan S and Jemma D. We completed today. I cant quite believe we got there - this has been the most difficult transaction I have known in 18 years of buying / selling property. A few weeks ago I had pretty much given up - I was 95% sure this would not go ahead. Jemma, in particular, dragged this transaction over the line via sheer brute force and a determination not to accept defeat that is admirable. Nothing was too much trouble - sorting out electric bills, chasing both sets of lawyers, getting fire seals fitted to the flat door, chasing managing agents, organising charities to allow donation of furniture and much much more - way way beyond the call of duty. All done on time and all with a relentless upbeat manner - despite me getting grumpier by the day which I apologise for, its not really what I am like but this transaction really was difficult. Jonathan and Jemma are simply wonderful professionals - they make you feel you can move mountains, which in this case we did. Johns and Co are lucky to have them, and I wish I could take them with me on all of my transactions. They are fabulous

Managed rental property by John’s&Co

I have used the service of JOHNS&CO since I purchased my buy to let flat in Hobart. I was unlucky with the first tenant. I used their service again with a tenant who turned out to stop paying rent half way through a two year tenancy. I complained about this and I was supported through the process to claim most of the rent due back. Jonathon McAvoy took it on to deal with a good outcome as well as Rachel Adeyemo who has been brilliant at dealing with my rental and I am pleased that she is my “go to” manager because I had confidence in the way she communicated with me throughout the difficult experience I had with the outgoing tenant. There were a few other JOHNS&CO staff like Bethel Gamma who also went above and beyond to deal with my case and I have agreed a third term of managing my property despite another agent asking me to join them. So I give credit where it’s due. Well done and thank you to all the staff at JOHNS&CO for the work you do.

Plumbing issue resolved well

Paris was very professional and did a nice job adjudicating a plumbing issue we had with our kitchen washer. The washer was failing to properly drain water during washing cycles. After talking through the issue with Paris, a contracted plumber arrived with reasonable speed and fixed the issue quickly.
