Fantastic support for a first-time buyer

Warren in Wimbledon was fantastic and very reassuring throughout my first-time flat purchase. I always felt confident that he had my best interests in mind, updated me regularly on the chain and was genuinely focused on getting the purchase over the line, particularly during periods of delay with the local authority. Imagine being so unprofessional that you schedule a viewing, talk so highly about your agency and then be extremely lame enough to not show up for the viewing. I had the absolute displeasure to deal with James Setright who scheduled a viewing and then forgot to show up at 308, Garratt Lane address at the time of the viewing. My partner travelled an hour to reach the address and then viola, nobody shows up, I call up and James picks up and tells me that there’s nothing he could do and the best he could do is to schedule it for another day. Whilst being civil and acting like he cared, there was absolutely no other alternative offered. I just feel sorry for the seller here, since they should pick up someone more professional and reasonable to deal with. To anyone at John D Wood who’s the owner, it’s not only hard to schedule viewings and reach your staff but they are just incredibly bad to deal with and make basic errors that are just blasphemous for. The nature of the business.

Do not give these guys your email. They're utterly useless spammers. I told them 4+ times over the phone I was looking for a 4 bed, and for weeks received a barrage of emails every day trying to sell me everything but a 4 bed. Every time I tried to correct my details on their system and explained what was happening, nothing changed. The 'unsubcribe' button on their emails just sends them an email from you asking to be taken off their mailing list. But they ignore all these emails. Blocking them doesn't work either. Edit: they responded to this review asking to be contacted directly, so I emailed and explained. They ignored and I continued to receive their spam.

Extremely Unprofessional

Extremely Unprofessional and Disrespectful Experience with Munroe Graham I had one of the most frustrating experiences with Munroe Graham. I viewed a property and placed an offer within two hours. My offer was accepted the same afternoon, and I immediately transferred a holding deposit. The next day, the agent became practically unreachable, I had to keep calling and texting just to get any updates. I was told there were some “issues with the landlord” but that everything was sorted and not to worry. Despite those reassurances, I was never sent a tenancy agreement, even though I was supposed to move in the following week. On the third day, after I had already turned down other offers based on their word, I received an email, not even a phone call, telling me the deal was off and that my money would be refunded. The reason given was that the landlord had fallen ill, which makes little sense since the property was empty when I viewed it. Even if that were true, the lack of professionalism was shocking. There was no respect, no communication, and no accountability throughout the process. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before dealing with Munroe Graham.

End of Tenancy Check Out - Battersea Branch

Our experience with John D Wood was frustrating and stressful. We dealt with four different agents during our tenancy, and none resolved any issues. The checkout process was the worst - we moved out in April, but our checkout report took 10 days, and despite a professional clean, the landlord conducted another and tried to charge us. Communication was terrible. Calls went unanswered, promised call backs never came, and replies took weeks. Our damage deposit wasn’t released for four months, forcing us to go through the Tenancy Deposit Scheme to recover it. Thankfully, we eventually received all of our money back. While we got our deposit in the end, the whole process was unnecessarily difficult. Expect poor communication, lack of support, and unhelpful agents.

We recently completed the purchase of a flat in Wimbledon through John D Wood & Co and had a very positive experience from beginning to end.
