My uncle has been entrusting Carter Jonas in Kensington and Chelsea with the management of his property, for over 14 years now, and I couldn't be more impressed with their exceptional service. My uncle lived abroad and have always felt he was in good hands, and that Carter Jonas have consistently exceeded his expectations year after year.Lara and Lajla have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth management of the property, providing unparalleled support and guidance throughout his journey with them. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication have truly set them apart.In particular, I would like to commend Lajla for her outstanding support, especially during a challenging time following the passing of my uncle. She not only demonstrated a deep understanding of our situation but also showed genuine care and empathy towards our needs.Recently, we encountered an unexpected issue with the reimbursement of the rent deposit to the tenant, which was caused by the DPS. Lajla took it upon herself to personally handle the matter, going above and beyond to resolve it swiftly and effectively. Long term landlord cutting ties with…

Long term landlord cutting ties with this organisation. They gave me a disgusting overestimate of refurbishment costs for the property as they were trying to price me out and encourage me to sell the house through them. No thought for the tenants, who are as much as a customer as myself. They practice poor behaviour and violate contractual agreements, sending people unnoticed to property and pinning blame on contractors when it is them who are responsible for organising the contractors and communicating with the tenants. Honestly they cause more trouble than they are worth and it is hard to see why their fees are so high when they do so little to actually manage the property and deal with tenant requests. Seem like a bunch of suit workers with 0 practical understanding of housing. They also fail to do regular checkups on property condition, especially when tenants switch over as their lazy attitude is to say they don't need to conduct new inventories as they are 'sharers' but this does not absolve them of responsibility. It makes it particular hard to track down liability for damages when sharers change over each year and they have no record of missing/damaged items, and the new sharers have proof of the condition themselves upon entry. It's a cow boy business, and the staff are quite frankly rude.

While the property market in Britain remains egregiously unregulated and MPs voted against a bill to require rental properties to be fit for human habitation, whilst landlords and agents routinely and rapaciously rinse out vulnerable segments of society (everyone under a very large income, so most of it) and play a huge role in creating the bad living environments which pushed COVID far and wide and is responsible for far more deaths than that per year and always has been, and until people like me come along and fully and absolutely police this backward and greedy industry, I myself will probably always go to Carter Jonas, who appear to not be the sort of people I have just described above, unlike most people in their industry. On more than one occasion they have demonstrated a degree of decency which I don't think I've seen in other agents ever, if I think back. Only four stars because absolutely no one in the property sector can have 5 stars from me. When I have brought about the regulation of the industry and collapsed most of the agencies, Carter Jonas may well be one of the agencies the government selects to turn into a government agency. By 2040 all property deals will go via the state sector - only way to fix the problem. Most of the problems are caused by gigantic profiteering by agencies and landlords, involving minimal maintenance, rapacious prices and extremely immoral practises when handling complaints.

Greedy profiteering

This companies accounting is ridiculous, I am paying ground rent (for a property 30 years old ... pure profit) and 'service charges' (there is NO service provided) that has increased over 20% every year for 3 years to profit them and yet they cannot understand a monthly DD paying them all this money and insist on sending out massive bills. What an absolute joke.

I have recently rented a property management by this company and i honestly have nothing positive to say, they are simply unprofessional and can’t do simple maths which led to us owing more in deposit than was firstly stated due to a mistake in the initial payment stated, then when picking up the keys to our property they were in an envelope in the office they did not ask for IDs to check we were the home owners, then coming to when we didn’t not want to renew our tenancy they would give us a days notice about viewings being conducted a week before we were due to move out ! they cause me and my house mate nothing but stress and i would avoid at all costs if you can!

Terrible, Terrible , Terrible . Communication and an unenthusiastic unproffessional attitude scores a zero .When you phone you can never get hold of anyone, if your lucky enough to catch them after many and I mean many attempts they cut you short as they are off to another meeting. State they will phone back next day, but never ever do. Phone back the next day .When they eventually do, if they do they take a week or more to respond to emails or calls with no apology for delay in repling ..And so the cycle gos on. We were interested in a property however due to the unproffessional service , it has now completely put us off the property .Sad to say and we feel sorry for the vendors but we are out and are moving on looking else where. Carter Jonas seriously, with a big S , need to review their agents customer service skillls .Based on our experience we would never ever use this company to sell our property . UPDATE it is now the 5th of October, we contacted CJ once again explaining our concerns with their agent poor communiacation skills and that we would like to discuss the property offer with another agent in their office and trust that we would not have to wait weeks for them to get back to us .Guess what, its approx 3 weeks now, and again nothing, ..no reply at all.
