A painful experience to attempt to sell our property. Several viewings confirmed with us who didnt turn up and no phone call from the agents to let us know. Once the property did sell, the lady who was In charge of pushing the sale forward, didnt do the job. After over 2 months, our buyer didnt have a mortgage in place so we put pressure on the agents to find out what was going on and turned out the buyer was a complete waste of time. Team mostly unprofessional. We lost around £1000 on the property we tried to purchase. Wouldnt trust barnard marcus again in future unfortunately.NegativeQuality

May I just start with saying my experience with 'Bernard Marcus Estate Agent' was the best so far and I would highly recommend, although I didn't find the perfect property the customer service I received was marvellous. The first call I made was picked up by Kemar I believe, who was amazing and helpful yet honest and straight forward. He booked a viewing in that day and offered another property to view which was a bonus. Met Bernardo at one of the properties who was so lovely it was honestly a dream to negotiate with. Both extremely professional, helpful and polite. Competent and efficient service.

Arranged a viewing for two properties which was confirmed the evening before. We attended the property at the arranged time - but after 15 minutes no one turned up so we called the office. The person on the phone told me both viewings had been cancelled but they didn't have my contact details. I gave them my contact details three times, received emails from them and had a voicemail from the office previously that week! The estate agent then had the cheek to contact me via email a few days later to try and reschedule without even an apology! I found them to be incompetent and rude.

Wouldn't recommend AT ALL. My friend and I did an offer for one of their properties for rent. After few days the offer got accepted. Then the referencing process started and it took FOREVER. Never once we were updated on the developments of the process! We wrote plenty email ( maybe just one of them got an answer)and called the agency numerous times ( it's super hard to get through letting, they take your number and never call back). Finally, the landlord decided to proceed the tenancy with an other agency (apparently with cheaper fees) and we remained empty handed! I understand this might not be entirely dependent on the agency but it won't change my opinion about Barnard Marcus Streatham! Very unprofessional and UNRELIABLE! The only quick process was the one of deducting money from our account to remove the ad of the property from their website. Of course we still waiting for the money to be refunded (and of course we haven't been told when the money will be refunded....).

We've been with BM for almost a year and unfortunately they have failed to sell our property. We've had a mixed experience with them in what is clearly a tough market. Their communication was very poor and took a lot of complaining from me before we received a weekly email and timely post-viewing reports. They did eventually achieve a low offer after 5 months on the market. They were helpful in trying to push the transaction through as quickly as possible, and it was not their fault that the transaction was aborted by the buyers. However, since that fell through their efforts have been underwhelming at best. They proposed a "relaunch" of the property online on Boxing Day, but this never happened due to what they admitted was their own oversight. They also confirmed they are unable to offer concrete statistics or insights - so, if they recommend a strategy to you, this will be the result of a hunch or anecdotal feedback, rather than data showing what works. They are a nice team, but 11 months in I think they just want us off their books. I would not work with them or another branch of BM again.

I thought the mortgage application will be daunting but he put me at ease. As a first time buyer, I could not have asked for a better broker. He was available to answer all my queries and made sure I understood my commitments. My application was made with the right lender for the right product and I had my mortgage offer without trouble.
