Moving houses is not expected to always be plain sailing but I must say that this was in fact a great experience. Everything was conceived to be easy and straightforward by Townends.The agency has the latest generation tools available to help busy professionals with the admin bit. Daniel and David were extremelly caring and courteous and have gone above and beyond to help us find the perfect home.

Always dealt with the landlord’s son, who’s perfectly nice. However, I couldn’t have picked a worse estate agent. At no point was I told that the address is quite difficult for any post (except Royal Mail) as it’s on top of shops and there’s a back entrance. There was 3 months to go till the end of tenancy but they started viewings already - this is very early. I get that they want to ensure someone else signs the property before we leave but it’s also 3 months of viewings. The viewings weren’t great either - as mentioned, the address is difficult to find so people would often get lost. David also consistently went over the time he said - my partner and I work full time and sometimes from home. I’m a recruiter, so I booked calls around the given time slots, to accommodate the viewings but David still showed up outside allocated time. I said I’m on a call, but instead of an apology and ‘We’ll come back later’, he pressured to do the viewing. There seems to be no regard for the person who’s actually living in the property. Partner and I decided to move out early and communicated this with the landlord’s son, who said it’s fine. There was a lot of back and forth with David, who clearly hadn’t been speaking to the landlord or the landlord’s son - I know this because I was getting different information from David and the Landlord’s son. The branch manager never responds - requires a phone call for anything (that’s if she’s there and able to take the call). The end of tenancy team isn’t great either - I don’t seem to get a response until I CC the Executive Lettings Director and he pushes them. It’s been almost a month and I still haven’t received my deposit, shortfall, and overpaid rent. However, if something is owed to them, they seem to jump on it very quickly and will have 0 patience. Wouldn’t recommend whatsoever and wouldn’t use in the future. Would give a lower rating if I could.

If you decide to get property true Stirling Ackroyd ,most likely when’s your tenancy is going to end .you have to forget about your deposit the agency will be in landlord side there’s no justice. Hope in the future the owner off the Twickenham branch do something about the justice between the landlord and the tenants.
