GoogleWe have had a fantastic service from Duncan Ley and his team of Alex, Claire, James and Rosie. Our house was a project for any potential buyer. Duncan assured us he would be able to sell and he was true to his word. The whole team kept us informed at all times of the process. Even when one purchaser pulled out late in the process, Duncan and his team had others ready to move. They even got us a better price from the 2nd purchaser. Even when the virus hit the country and we went into lockdown, Duncan and his team kept us up to date with the progress and eventually managed to complete yesterday. I recommend Humberts to any of you considering selling or buying a home. We shall definitely use them again and I commend them to you. GoogleI feel obliged to review my experience with Humberts following a telephone call this morning. I'm so disappointed in the lack of compassion and interest they showed. Their advice is to look at properties below my budget and expect to overpay. He showed no interest in our willingness to make an offer but to instead clearly wanted to gouge for the maximum amount possible. It's a difficult market, but this absolutely callous lack of interest in buyers will burn Estate Agents when the market turns around. We will remember.NegativeQuality
Hi Rich, Further to our conversation after your experience and review above, I'm sorry. It's a shame you felt we weren't being sympathetic. With there being so much competition in the market at the moment we genuinely tried to offer some advice to help you in your efforts to secure a property. As I mentioned, the Land Registry reports that over 1/3 of all properties are being sold over the asking price. Our own experience in Cornwall would suggest more than 2/3rds are. In such a market we appreciate how difficult it is and many buyers are revising their expectations in the knowledge that in most cases they will need to offer in excess of the asking price. This is not trying to 'gouge for the maximum amount possible' but honest advice to help. We have a fiduciary duty to achieve the best offer for our clients but even in a sellers market providing a positive customer service to our buyers - as our other google reviews would suggest we do - is still very important to us. I'm sorry that in this instance you feel we have failed.

GoogleWe suffered a long and tortuous house sale and subsequent purchase. There seemed to be one problem after another along with an unexpected personal difficulty. Throughout the process all Humberts staff not only provided a professional, quality service but were also very supportive and sympathetic and treated us like close friends.
