A masterclass in poor comms

If you enjoy chasing your management team, repeating yourself, and talking to an AI in the guise of a team member- you're in luck- Winkworth is the estate agent for you! What should have been a straightforward bog-standard rental turned into an ongoing saga of piss poor communication, missed details and an impressive ability to make every issue somehow become my problem to chase up on for updates. Which begs the question, is their inbox a black hole or they just don't care? I’ve dealt with estate agents before. I'd say I'm pretty familiar with the usual level of nonsense. But I must congratulate Winkworth who have managed to take it to another level. Would I use them again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend them? Also absolutely not.

I'm so glad I trusted Aaron and the Winkworth team to find a tenant for my home. Aaron knows the Queen's Park and Kensal Rise area inside out, and is extremely knowledgeable about tenancy regulations and contracts. He was responsive and proactive throughout, and often picked up the phone rather than relying on text, which made a stressful process feel calm and manageable. The wider team, Michael, Stanislava, Ayallah and Fabian, have been equally professional and quick to respond. A breath of fresh air compared with other estate agencies I've used. Highly recommended!

Overall had a really good experience with Winkworths selling my flat and would recommend. All the team were professional and made the process smooth and relatively hassle free. Only negative was needing to check the initial contract sent to ensure they removed a clause that would have seen me paying half the fee if I needed to pull out between having accepted an offer but before having exchanged. However, they removed this when I raised it. I highly appreciate Sean’s efforts though, through his excellent communication and a proactive attitude Sean made a real difference to reducing the stress involved through the whole process, from accepting the offer through to exchange.

Hi I am providing an update - just to add that Karolina the Property Manager who joined this year is fantastic. She has done a wonderful job of looking after my flat for me while it was rented out. The best. Thank you Karolina! --- I have been extremely happy with my experience with Winkworths Shoreditch. From the very beginning (3 weeks ago) when I first walked into their offices I noticed that they had a very positive can-do approach and really listened to what I wanted. I explained to the lettings manager Tom Street that I wanted to rent my flat out quickly. Within a couple of days of me signing their Terms of Business the advert was live and showed the flat to its full potential, and a day later they had 5 back-to-back viewings organised, which I found quite extraordinary. Daniel Judge, a very cheerful, hardworking lettings agent, did these after work one evening, having explained to me that he was happy to organise viewings after work at times to suit me and the prospective tenants. I dealt with him repeatedly throughout the ensuing period and he was always happy to help and was very committed, easygoing and professional. Fast forward 3 weeks and my flat is rented out to some really nice tenants (who I was able to meet before agreeing to take them). Stephanie Walters, the Office Administrator, worked cheerfully and tirelessly into her evenings after the office had officially closed on various occasions to ensure the paperwork was all done quickly, and she was generally a star. She went way beyond the call of duty to ensure everything went smoothly and I'm extremely grateful to her for her help. I was also impressed that the manager Tom Street always got back to me promptly when I wanted to speak to him. He remained actively involved throughout and did not just delegate everything to the more junior members of the team. It was also noteworthy that there was no drop-off in client care as a result of my signing a sole agency agreement with them, thereby excluding the possibility of using other agents. I have to give them a rating of 11 out of 10, as they were extremely proactive and efficient all the way through the entire process. Their fees were reasonable and they also effortlessly achieved the asking rent for the flat. They were a pleasure to deal with and struck me as genuinely nice people. Thank you Winkworth Shoreditch. :))
