We have just completed on the purchase of our new home with Stags Totnes. The whole process was absolutely fantastic from start to finish - Nancy almost became our own "personal shopper" at the start of our process, taking us to view several properties, offering excellent & considered advice throughout. Once we had found our perfect place the process was seamless, just 6 weeks from memorandum of sale to exchange. This was thanks in no small part to the diligence and attentiveness of Nancy and the Totnes team. They were with us every step of the way and could not have been more accommodating in arranging access for our surveyor and trades people often at fairly short notice. From our experience we would highly recommend Stags Totnes and thank you Nancy for all you have done for us.

As Executor, I have recently had to sell my Late Mother's home (my childhood home). We asked more than one Estate Agent to view the property before deciding on Stags. The reason for our choice was, in large part, because, on Luke's first visit, he had clearly researched the property in advance, and then gave both a quantitative and qualitative basis for his recommended asking price. Throughout the sale process, Luke and his colleagues were very supportive. They kept me informed of progress, liaised with my conveyancer and were responsive and helpful whenever I had any questions.

Luke from Stags Totnes came to visit my property a week ago ( Wed 26th March ) to carry out a valuation. I made an error with the time of the appointment however it made no difference to the appraisal as I was at home anyway. I was not informed at any point that the response would take so long. After waiting for a response until Monday 31st I followed up with 3 emails and 3 phone calls across 3 separate days in order to try and get a response. I received nothing until over a week later ( Wed 2nd April ) when I received the below email. Make your own conclusions:, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ‘Dear Tom, Thank you for your emails and calls, and I apologise for the delay in coming back to you. I had informed you that I would aim to respond early this week, having been away towards the end of last week. That said, I understand from my colleague that you have since confirmed you will not be proceeding with Stags. In light of that, I will not be providing any further advice or service. As I am sure you can appreciate, it takes considerable time, effort, and cost to carry out a valuation, undertake the necessary research, and follow up with a detailed report. I also felt, candidly, that our initial meeting lacked a degree of professionalism, given the appointment had been mis-timed and our conversation felt somewhat rushed as a result. I appreciate this may not be the response you were expecting, but I hope you can understand my position. My focus now is on supporting clients who have committed to working with us. Overall when I had to deal with Stags Totnes for lettings I found them ill mannerly and pretentious. There was one enthusiastic, helpful young chap there who gave me the time of day and was willing to chat about my requirements. Despite being a landlord and home owner myself I found the lettings staff very dismissive and unhelpful - nobody was willing to really listen to me courteously. Communications were excellent. Lauren Anthony is a credit to the organisation and goes above and beyond liaising with solicitors, buyers and sellers which is well beyond the remit of her job. 3. I dealt with Lauren at the Totnes Stags office whilst selling my mother's house. She was extremely efficient and kind in her communications. Always upbeat and helpful throughout the time the house was on the market.
