I can not rate the Totnes office highly enough for their help in selling my home. I found the team friendly and very helpful. Jamie-Leigh was professional and efficient and kept me up to date by phone and by email. I did not use Fulfords solicitors so can not comment on them, but the sales team were amazing. Alexandra Whitell and her team did an excellent job, they found a buyer very quickly and even managed to book viewings before the photographs of the property had been taken. They regularly checked that I was pleased with the service and asked if I wanted any changes to be made. If I sell another property I would be happy to sell it through them.

We signed with fulfords in exmouth June 2024 and to begin with they were helpful and the initial appointment was good so we signed up with them as we have had some dealings with them before.That turned out to be the worst decision ever.After a week I had to call them to ask why my property was not on there website only to told oops sorry,then I had to phone again to ask why there was no description about my property which they corrected.on one particular viewing my husband left our property to allow the agent to show the client around,after an hour and twenty minutes my husband phoned the agent as she hadn't phoned him to say the viewing was over to be told oops sorry I forgot.we stayed for the timed we signed for as we had no choice but NEVER would I recommend them to anyone.it took 16 weeks and numerous phone calls for them to put a sale board up and 4 calls later they still haven't picked it up.i don't blame them for the lack of footfall but I from start to finish we constantly had to phone them. Totally useless.

Very unprofessional once they had our signature on the sales contract. No follow ups so buyer started haranguing me instead then pulled out because the support wasn’t there. I rented my house out through Fulfords. Initially it was positive as the house was marketed well. Despite paying a management fee, I at times had to manage the house myself, reminding them to carry out repairs, not having emails replied to, and being charged over the odds by a team who were far too cosy to be professional with their contractors. Fulfords lost sight of the fact that they were engaged by me to manage the property, and also lost sight that it was my house.

I have had occasion to use Fulfords to sell a property in Totnes as part of the disposal of the estate of a deceased friend. This has been a particularly difficult time to sell, due to the present economical climate and Fulfords have frequently kept me in touch with the situation. I live a considerable distance from Totnes so was most grateful for their help in many small ways. Checking on the heating, the mail, and the general appearance of the property for example, which meant a great relief for me and my fellow Executor. The staff, Alice, Simon and Jason were unfailingly helpful and I would recommend this company to anyone needing the services of an Estate Agent.

Not all surprised by James' experience as a vendor as detailed below - Fulfords are extraordinarily dismissive of potential buyers and are limiting their client pool to pure cash buyers: We enquired to view a property advertised by Fulfords. First exchange: Fulfords is not allowing viewings by potential buyers who do not have an offer on their own property, which we did not then have, although our house was advertised for sale. So we waited until we had received an offer on our property and then re-engaged 2 weeks later. I was taken aback when I was told Fulfords would need to speak to our agent to confirm we had received an offer, but fine - doesn't feel great to be called a liar, but if that's the only way to see this property... But then Fulfords said they would need to see copies of my bank statements for proof of funds before arranging a viewing. I did try re-explaining that we would be funding the purchase through the sale of our home, but the agent was adamant - we could not book a viewing unless I provided this. Maybe there is sufficient demand in the market to limit the potential pool of home buyers to 100% cash buyers who are prepared to share their bank statements before even seeing a property. But dissatisfied vendors like James below may wish to consider other agents in the area who are also allowing viewings to other interested buyers who plan to fund their purchase from the sale of their home or using a mortgage. In the meantime, the property we are interested to see with a view to making an offer remains unsold and on the market. UPDATE: Subsequently contacted by Fulfords to explain they will accept confirmation from our agent of the offer, whether it is proceedable and our recent mortgage statement to confirm affordability - In order to arrange a viewing. All in all, by this point, I chose to concentrate our search on other properties.
