I recently had the misfortune of working with Dexters, and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. If I could give them zero stars, I would! The number of mistakes they make, the random emails they send asking for money and then say "oops sorry". Just ridiculous. Quite an inevitble culture though, knowing how the manager Marc treats customers.

Review updated following discussion with Sales Director. Lettings: Didn't have water at our new property until 5 days after the rental started. Agent took forever to respond re: the many other maintenance issues, eventually telling us 'we don't manage this property, you need to talk to the landlord directly'. Sales: We were told to go ahead with a building survey on a property of interest, only to be told after it was completed that a sale had been agreed in the meantime. Discussed this with Donna, a Director, who after much back and forth refused to accept any wrongdoing, saying that although Dexters failed to inform us of the change in position, or to invite a competing bid at that point, it had made no difference to the final outcome. Even though our eventual offer for the property was declined "because the seller feels morally obligated to continue with the already agreed purchase". I guess the above affect tenants/buyers rather than landlords/sellers, and while the latter have a choice in which agent to use, the former generally don't.

We came to Dexters just after the end of the first lockdown. We had suddenly come across our dream home in Devon and we needed a quick sale here in Teddington. It was critical we found the correct buyers ie chain free and able to move swiftly. It was a nail biting time but I cannot thank Dexters enough. They were extremely proactive and quick to respond to a tricky market. We are thrilled to announce that we have just exchanged on both properties today!! I know for sure that this is down to the incredible team at Dexters. Well done guys - you made our dreams come true and I cannot recommend you enough!!

This review was from three years ago when Dexter's sold us the house....Dexters have recently sold on the house for us and while the below still stands I would like to add, that the house was not listed and sold for over asking 3 days later....not much more can be said than that. Hugh thanks for the team. HIGHLY RECOMEND FOR BOTH BUYERS AND SELLERS. Dexter's are by far the most professional agents in the area....and I dealt with all of them! From the pricing/portfolio of the houses through to exchange - Excellent Service Have just exchanged on a house and was kept very well informed throughout the entire process. Its very comforting to be able to pick up the phone through what can be a stressful process and have customer focused staff to talk you through every aspect.

A very mixed review. I noticed someone else wrote that they chose Dexters on the force of Alice’s personality alone and I also did the same. She really is as enthusiastic and as driven as they say. I’d would also add she has such a lovely warm personality that you feel as though you have been friends for years. That being said its been 2 weeks since completing on the sale of my first property and I still feel a little scarred from the transaction. On one hand they found a buyer very quickly, yet on the other there was no-one free to show her the property so I did so myself. This buyer and the solicitors used turned out to be an absolute nightmare. Throughout the transaction I felt as though Dexters were actually working for my buyer and did not have my best interests in mind as their actual client. However, towards the end the service improved. All in all when I sit here in my temporary accommodation with 2 and bit weeks to go before I finally get to move myself, looking at the invoice and just how much I paid for this service, I’m sorry to say I’m not sure I would in fact use Dexters again.
