Avoid this agent if you are a buyer, because unfortunately they don't seem intelligent enough to know that if the buyer pulls out, they won't have a done deal or, of course, the commission. I've bought properties in different places, and this one with Robert Cooney has been the worst. They keep pushing for the seller to complete transaction without showing respect for the buyer or the fact that the process isn't the most straightforward. In fact, it's the seller's solicitor who wasn't cooperative. Good job the deal is off, because the market is going further down.

Landlords avoid

I tried to leave a review before this but lost it. In a nutshell: There is not one thing this company has done to help me as a landlord. Even to the point of giving my spare key at the office to the tenant so not having any chance of dealing with things themselves if they had to. No communication Passing the buck between branches Always a staff member either, leaving company, sick, on other phone, at lunch, it’s endless! One department said there’s only three women here in the office! What? This is not Covid! It started before that. This was before! I am at a loss to know why I do not do this myself as paying as I’m them for nothing. I’m so upset at the incompetence of these people and caused me to constantly phone and deal with travelling to and from property. A shout out to Luton Branch and Leighton Buzzard for taking my money on false pretences but being really friendly doing it. Communication with them goes back to carrier pigeon.

Sales team were greatDoug and the rest of the sales team in East Grinstead were wonderful. We chose Robert Cooney as we preferred to work with a local independent business rather than a corporate chain. The initial marketing was handled well, with excellent photographs. We had an offer from the second people to view which was terrific. When we had issues with the upward chain Sarah stepped in and went above and beyond to ensure that we completed when we needed to. Rohini has also been an excellent point of contact.

Moved into a rental property that was not ready on time, then moved in at a delayed date to find the property wasn't clean and the broken oven that was meant to be replaced was still in there. Within three days, we discovered the house was infested with fleas and had to leave with all our belongings still in the home. We had an agreement that the tenancy would be terminated immediately and monies returned to us and had to wait until the house had been professionally treated to be able to get any household items out. Refund kept being promised by the branch, yet was nowhere to be seen, after making a formal complaint to head office - we now finally have our funds paid back after three months from the date we moved out. Everything that could of gone wrong with this rental experience, did indeed go wrong. Staff at the branch were polite, just everything was handled in the most shambolic way ever. Wouldn't recommend from my personal experience.

Ashford, Kent.I guess with a large company your experience sometimes comes down to the branch, and I have to say that the team at Ashford were excellent throughout the whole process. Nathan gave a solid assessment of value and lined up a strong batch of buyers. It’s a good market and we had lots of offers, but he checked them all throughly and gave us the information we needed to make a wise decision on the offer to take. The bit where they really came into their own was the progression and updates that helped us get the exchange. Tracey always came back quickly and managed to move things forward each time. If for any reason she wasn’t available everyone in the branch stepped up to help. Our chain held together, and my Mum is now happily living in her new home. Truly excellent work.

Stay away from them

I used their service for let only because their price was cheaper than other estate agents. It was a simple process. Pictures were already online and the tenants were found the next day. But the communications afterwards were poor, staff dealing with it totally locking of professionalism and responsibility! I had to keep calling their manager in another branch to ask what was happening and chase the result. On the day the tenants were supposed to go to the branch to get the keys, the shop was closed! Even it was a normal working day and no reason was informed! I will never use them again!

Everyone at Robert Cooney's have been brilliant helping out with a joint purchase we made which is a first for me. When viewing the house, they were honest and knowledgeable about the house to the best they could do and when they didn't know answers, they worked it out in front of me. During the process of the purchase, they have been really efficient with no hanging around. They were fast at responses, proactive and great at chasing up on people. Customer service and manner on the phone was very professional too and they were helpful when I couldn't reach someone. On particular staff member was really morally supportive on the day I tried but failed to get a mortgage and lost the place to another buyer. Then the house returned and we tried again with a different plan and got through and they shared the joy with us until the end. It was such a stressful thing to do, but the team were always there to help. Thank you.

We have purchased three properties marketed by Robert Cooney Taunton and have to say that they have the balance absolutely right - they get things done without being pushy, they keep you fully informed at all stages and they don't hesitate to smooth wrinkles and sort out small issues before they grow. Having a sales progression team helps, but the sales team also keep a close eye on deals to make sure all goes smoothly, an attitude I have found sadly lacking in several other estate agents in the past, both big names and small. The Taunton team are outstanding.

Officially the WORSE surveyors!

Officially the WORSE surveyors!! Having owned multiple properties with variety of lender never had as worse experience as this. I paid £500 for survey and they deemed property unsuitable due to some foam on roof. Irony is 2 X other lenders have offered on same property without any questions & my own professional surveyor has happily signed off the property. I’m glad I made alternative arrangements in time. Stop wasting your Time! Read review and do your research. There’s way better surveyors available & if your lender uses this company run a MILE!!

Rude and massively undervalued

Valuer was in the property for less than 5 mins, obviously wasn't local, very unfriendly and rude. The value came back way lower (45k) than the offer received from my buyer, so the sale is likely to fall through and I will loose my next property too. Property is rarely available on this road so it is a tricky one to value, but asking price is comparable to local properties of similar size and finish and property sold very quickly with multiple offers which proves it was well priced for the market. Absolutely fuming!

Bent con men !

As others I would score zero if I could.Valuer appointed through Natwest's underwriters, Mr C Hill was at my property 5 mins,and under valued my house for 40 k. He already knew the value I had stated as he mentioned it to me, so why if the company was supposed to be "independent" did he already know the honest value??Then provided feed back to Natwest that there wasn't any comparable house sold recently. There was in the last 3 years for well over his valuation of my larger house, but not in the last 3 months during a pandemic (shock!)My new mortgage deal is now £3k more expensive over the next 5 years thanks to his incompetence. Natwest wont let you appeal the valuation, but I know for sure that if the repossessed my house they wouldn't sell it for his valuation = bent as f.... ! Back handers central! I cant beleive Natwest use such a company with these review rating unless they are going to make a healthy profit from them ....oh wait...!

Can I give no stars

Can I give no stars? Appalling service from start to finish. Pulled out of a purchase mainly due to this agent. Day 1 view a property. Agent strolled up the street after our arrival, had to force door open due to post and junk mail piled up. This should have been moved prior to our arrival to give a better impression. Agent gave us wrong sale price around £20,000 than actual price. Property was also marketed incorrectly in our opinion. Garage blocked of with inner wall making it a gym, agent conveniently didn’t have the key for us to see this. Due to issues with our buyer the purchase of this property was unexpectedly delayed, whilst we were keen to keep the vendor updated, these agents were not so forthcoming with information including that they had put the house back up for sale. I only found this out when calling with information. I’m quite certain at this point he attempted to get us to increase our offer to “secure” the purchase. After reassuring them of our position we were then given an incredibly unachievable deadline . This simply led us to reevaluate our position and rather than proceed proceed with the purchase ( of which I had no confidence was now secured to us) and came to the unfortunate decision to withdraw our offer and look for another property. When searching a quite limited choice for our situation I had to discount any property’s listed with connells regardless of how much I liked them. I found these agents to be very unprofessional and on rude.
