GoogleThis company refused to rent a property because of a disabled child very poor and disspicable discrimination
I’m sorry you have been disappointed with the outcome of the enquiry to let a property with us. Our landlords do not accept housing benefit applications for various reasons. Some have restrictive covenants in their mortgages, or in their house insurance, or both, that stipulate that they are not to accept benefit applications. Some just prefer to have full time workers instead. This is not our decision or us being discriminatory about accepting benefits. With regards to your comment of refusing to home a child with a disability, this was not the reason for the refusal and this is would never be a reason to refuse an application. The fact of the matter is that we still wouldn’t be in a position to offer you a viewing. We would strongly advise you to contact the Council’s housing department as they can offer advice on contacting private landlords, and may be able to put you in contact with landlords who can accept housing benefit. Dear Firas I was sorry to hear that you think we have acted unprofessionally. It was unfortunate that you missed out on viewing a property because somebody who viewed the week before made an application and reserved it. Our job is to find tenants quickly for our landlords, which we do extremely well. It's a fast-paced market and we did inform you prior to our appointment that it was no longer available to view, so as to avoid wasting your time. I hope that you find a suitable property soon.
