The worst mistake i ever made

The worst mistake i ever made was buying a gleesons home. It permanently stinks as the drains are nearly always blocked.None of the doors shut properly and there are gaps in the windowsAfter they get your money they don't sort anything out.

Useless and full of lies!!

Building homes, changing lives. At Gleeson, we build low-cost, high quality homes in the North of England and the Midlands. If that statement was true then you would have 78% positive and happy customers infact its the other way around 78% of the reviews are negative and true to the point that you will regret buying a home from these unprofessional so-called housebuilder firm called Gleeson. We have had nothing but trouble since day one from build quality to false promises and none existant customer services (same person answers the phone). I wish i knew all this before i bought the house but unfortunately nobody warned well this is my chance to warn many of you out there. The price definately reflects on the houses and forget about having any issues after purchasing you will be on your own!Surely they know all this from so many customers and they are doing NOTHING about it because they know people will be attracted to the price only and the showhomes (although showhomes are built by proper builders and designers) you will get nothing like them i promise you! They are just very arrogant thinking that their homes will still sell that is their attitude and that is why its very annoying because people will not see their lies until after they buy the house. We should boycott their homes for many reasons and the government should ban them altogether. Im more shocked at how the nhbs has approved their dodgy build quality it amazes me. People do your research ask the neighbours and current gleeson homeowners before you buy one!You can’t even build fences to protect your gardens! So when people trample over ur lawn and flowers its not Gleeson’s problem and people walk their dogs like its a public park. When family asks why can’t you build a fence its embarassing to tell them its covenant appartantly (legal stuff) which is about 40 different ones so again its your house but you can’t do anything without their permission! After explaining that we live on a main road and its dangerous with cars speeding and public walking all over our lawns so we want to build our fences (with our own cost) they refuse because it spoils the look of the house according to them. Then they send us emails about having garden competitions really takes the mickey! Its time we took them to the local press now so everyone within the community knows the truth!

I have bought my first house from gleesons and I have nothing really bad to say about them. The house was completed 2 weeks before the completion date there was only 3 snags and they sorted them out in that week. I’ve been in my house 4 months now and still in love with it just as much as the start. Gleesons has sorted out any enquires nice and fast. The only bad thing is the garden but there coming to sort that out after isolation. So I would highly recommend buying a house from them. I was so scared to go for it after seeing all the bad reviews but I’m glad I did. People please go on instagram and follow loads of gleesons homes you will start seeing there’s hell of a lot more happier reviews than what you find on Facebook or these sites.

Un horrible experience

In all fairness it was horrible form the very beginning. Passing that we meet with the site manager for the inspection of the house and old man without manners and everything for him it was just dust and nothing else. When I start to show him the horrible quality of the plaster allover the house the kitchen floor with many wrong cuts and places without paint his answer all the time it was,, it just dust mate easy to fix" when he see that I'm starting to lose my calm with his explications he left. When we moved in not even the things we paid for to be done it wasn't. No paint done, no plaster fixed, no handles on doors and the boiler wasn't close like we ask. 3 day after we moved in I start to see that the both room was liking everywhere when the plumber come it was ridiculous what we found out. The bath was liking in 3 places and it wasn't properly stable which he had to fix and the sink as well. And after months we wait for them to do something what basically they had to do it before we moved in. So for us was an horrible experience and definitely I wouldn't advise you to buy an house from them and for us will be definitely the last gleeson house which we ever buy

Absolutely shocking....

Absolutely shocking....I wouldn't trust them with nailing a picture to a wall let alone build a house. I am unfortunate enough to have only realised this after purchasing a property from them. I cant begin to describe the constant and endless problems I have had with my property. The boiler had a pipe split, this caused a significant flood, two months down the line I still have no flooring as well as damaged items. Gleeson has sat and done nothing. Changing the site manager monthly seems to be their thing excuse. Using external contractors is another. The build quality is sub standard and I would happily invite NHBC to come and inspect the property for faults. Gleeson care about nothing other than taking the money from your pocket. They need to be boycotted/banned from producing anymore developments before someone is injured or worse due to poor build quality. Finally, I would like to thank Gleeson for single handedly ruining my first time experience of buying a property and their contribution to causing unneeded stress. I hope karma catches up with you in the future.

Absolutely abysmal service

Absolutely abysmal service - within the first month of being there, my shower head attachment broke off the wall, I had a leak in the upstairs bathroom sink which I had to pay £75 to get British Gas to come and fix (Gleesons haven't responded at all and won't pay for it or at least contribute to the price even though the plumber said it was a fault with the sink, not because of anything I'd done). When someone from Gleesons FINALLY came round to fix the shower head, ONE MONTH AFTER IT HAD BROKEN, he messed around with my security alarm and broke it. He said he'd get an electrician to come and fix it, but I've not heard anything from him or Gleeson since. Now I have problems with my boiler, my skirting boards don't reach the floor and my alarm is still broken. I used the MyGleeson app and it's absolute rubbish, they get round to you when they feel like it and they don't even do a half decent job. When I was buying the house, the sales rep was incredibly pushy and kept saying how she wanted the sale through asap because it was Christmas and her daughter's birthday coming up so she wanted my money. This is my very first house and Gleeson have absolutely ruined my experience of first time home ownership, I completely 1000% regret buying a house with them - they don't even deserve a 1 star review, they've got the worst sales team and the worst customer service I've ever seen from a company!

We are the second owners of this…

We are the second owners of this property in the Wheatley Hill Development which is now four years old. The following are the issues I have come across in the past 17 months. The Boiler (Ideal branded)broke down twice in six months costing over £200s to be fixed. Both WC cisterns replaced due to leaking water.Thermostat malfunctions while away for two months in the Winter, resulting in large gas bills for an empty house.Poor quality taps, front door rattling, ill fitting patio doors and windows. The structure vibrates during high winds. I have fixed a lot the problems using my own money.NHBC is of little help. The neighbours issues range from water leaking from ducts, design faults with drains, gas leeks.Just waiting now for the next issue to crop up.

Low price

The sales managers were nice and honest in the Skelmersdale. They played with my kids and told me that I could not change the garden at the first five years. The price of houses are lower than other developers.

DONT BUY

1 star is for the fact that the house is actually standing. All the reviews are true, you move in and there is so much work incomplete, never mind snags. The contractors they use are useless, so even when they do come out to carry out work, it’s not done properly or has to be redone. The more you look the more you find EVERYTHING is a botch job. Buying a new build house you expect to just move your belongings in and your ready, this is very far from it.

I was after a house at ransom court

I was after a house at ransom court, the salesman seemed nice and even gave me a show round on the site, having sold my house i was ready to put a deposit on a house asap. I was told you cant reserve a plot but wait until one comes available and was told by the salesman soon as i receive an email that one was available i was to call him to reserve one, having received the email i called straight away and left a message to reserve a plot, having called several times with no reply i decided to go down to the site, only to find that the house had gone do i asked about 2 others witch were 3 beds and was told they had gone too. I then asked how are you supposed to get one he replied you can book an appointment for the following weeks having gone on the site to make an appointment they were all booked up, why couldn't he of told me this in the first place as i wasted months waiting around, i think they may of tipped someone off when one was coming up, now having read the reviews i can see thay gleeson homes are a see they are a tin pot company with no customer service and im so glad i didnt buy one in the end.

Believe the bad reviews

Me and my wife have bought a house at Kilner Park in Doncaster a few months ago. Before we bought the house the sale assistants seemed good and friendly, but as soon as you place deposit and several months later exchanged contracts the customer service goes down hill. After placing the deposit they said we’d keep you updated on the progress but this never happened we had to chase to get updates on the build of our house. After exchanging contracts they give you access to “myGleeson” from there you can submit questions or issues. We submitted a couple of queries a couple of months after moving in they responded but don’t really answer your query (think they should get into politics). The house itself is alright everything look good but some of the materials & fixtures seem cheap.Over all the house is fine, the customer service is not the best but I guess this is what you get when you use a cheap house developer.

Excellent communication

Since buying our house in 2017, I have seen a huge improvement in the customer care at Gleeson Homes, especially in the last couple of weeks when i have had a couple of issues with a leak & a crack in my bathroom. I have had 2 visits from a lovely and very helpful man called Ged whilst having fantastic communication with a lady in the office called Kit. The portal that has now been put in place on the website is a quick and easy way to send a description and upload a photo of the defect. Thank you for your help.. Ashley

The sales staff were completely uninterested in our requirements for a house and didn't listen to our needs and desires. They appeared to be uninterested in achieving a sale from us as "they're new builds and everyone wants a new build". The system is a first come first serve system for reservations, leaving you feeling very under valued despite jumping through all the loops they ask you to. I would not recommend this development.

Do you want be healthy?

Will you want be healthy? Avoid any business with them. They are very, very, very poor quality. You couldn't find all mistakes, neglected and intentional scams during the inspection. There are a lot of hidden mistakes even during usage of hauses are invisible. Few of mistakes are visible when warranty runs out and you are alone with mistakes. And them could be costly. They do not repair all complains. Only easy for to do. Gleeson hasn't obdusman and is not available independent negotiator. If you have any dispute with them, only in the court. I move in as first on estate and I have watching progress when hauses growed. You will not see that. Believe meIt was a worster spend money in my live.

Gleeson Homes Rosebank Liverpool

Moved into Gleeson homes Rosebank Liverpool in July been the worst time of our lives. So much stuff not completed I would be here forever trying to write it all down. Right now our lives feel ruined. The beautiful new build we where promised is nothing short of a home from hell. Uneven walls, wrong pipes, Ill fitting plugs, non working plugs, faulty electrics, half done plastering, vinyl floor cut short and bumpy, carpet miss laid and bumpy, windows doors bathrooms all not sealed properly, things we paid for not done, spent the first few months with a front door on what should of been our back door and when they finally fitted the right back door they ruined all the walls around it, let themselves into our hone and ripped our kitchen out without permission to get to a blocked drain and then when they re fitted our kitchen the cupboards left with holes and dints in huge hole is the wall so you can see insulation, broken extractor fans, cracks everywhere, bits of skirting missing, panels of the cupboards missing. We also had to fight for a path in front of our house as it wasn’t disability friendly (just covered with stones) as my partner has to sometimes use a wheelchair. Honestly I could go on but the list is endless. We new there would be snags but this is more than snags. The original building manager has been sacked because the state of all the houses in the site, and the amount of complaints he got (he had an awful attitude and couldn’t control his staff or his own temper) So now currently we have had to live in a dusty house as they have had to re-plaster and re paint everywhere and waiting for a new kitchen and honestly the dust is so thick. They wouldn’t accommodate us and just kept saying we will hoover even though the plasterer was saying that it wasn’t safe to be there because the dust will keep falling. All my lovely new and old belongings are ruined and all stuff is just dirty. The new plasterer and electrician have said our home looks like it was done by cow boy builders and it’s the worst they have ever seen. But honestly when you see these things in the media you never think it would happen to you. Our lives are currently ruined.

Stay away

Stay away. I will not be dealing with this company again, I'm just glad I didn't go any further than the initial stages as that was enough stress. They put the prices up even after they have agreed an initial price with you, if that's the kind of management that's running Gleeson, I don't know what house quality can be expected and I'd rather not know, just be careful with your hard earned money with this company.
