I recently sold my house during the tricky 2025/26 market conditions. As is fairly common it was not without drama involving chain stability. Ed Tighe was straightforward and supportive. He delivered bad news sympathetically and just ploughed on positively and supportingly until the goal was achieved. He went the extra mile answering emails beyond normal hours and put himself out to accommodate a rather early morning appointment. Despite the head winds Ed kept all the plates spinning to a successful conclusion. I would definitely engage Savills again and recommend them without reservation. . Ed and all the staff at the Guildford office were a delight to work with. Their professionalism was first rate.

Louie and the team at Savills, Guildford were very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process of us moving it to a rented property. Louie went out of his way to get us an extra viewing after his work hours, and we ended up loving it and moving in just 2 weeks later. The process was smooth and very quick from the team in the Guildford branch as well as head office. We had a couple of problems when we were moved in but they were dealt with quickly and the service we received was great, I would definitely recommend.

Estate agents get a particularly bad rap. We are very glad we chose Guildford Savills as that’s not been our experience at all, quite the opposite! From the initial pitch, which was thorough, knowledgeable, and professionally delivered, Matthew Addison Smith and James Boyden were impressive. They beat off stiff competition and demonstrated their experience by offering sound, realistic market advice for our much loved family home, while fully recognising the worth of our property, and we were delighted when their marketing strategy was vindicated by achieving the full asking price. Matthew Addison Smith was brilliant. He managed the sale throughout with friendly professionalism, sensitivity, and endless enthusiasm. Nothing was too much effort for Matthew. He always listened and our wishes were respected. Since there is nothing more stressful than being kept in the dark, Matthew’s exceptional communication throughout has been a lifesaver. Matthew made it his business to find out everything about everything and to pass the information on in an extremely timely manner. The good communication on its own has made a stressful procedure - including the loss of our first buyer (through no fault of Savills) - significantly easier to bear. We appointed Savills to market our house in April 2021 after a three-way pitch against two other leading agencies. Alastair Mercer had been recommended to us as an experienced and ethical professional and we liked him immediately. He valued our house significantly higher than his competitors but gave us good reason to understand why he could deliver. And he did. We achieved a price £75,000 higher than the starting valuation of both other agencies. Throughout the process he was available and attentive, offering wise counsel, bringing his experience to bear without dismissing our perspectives. And when our house was sold Alastair and his team stayed in touch to help us find our next home. There is no doubt that English law makes house selling and buying much more tricky than it needs to be, but Savills were strong partners throughout. Their fee was higher than you can find in the marketplace but the value delivered gave us outstanding service and indeed left us better off.
