I am usually very critical of services but I can't find a single reason not to give anything less than 5*s for this entire team. As a first time buyer, it is not easy with house purchase journey, however team at Hubbard-Torlot is absolutely admirable in terms making our journey as smooth as possible from viewings to completion. The team at Hubbard-Torlot is perhaps the finest bunch of professionals I've seen to work as a team to deliver the best for their clients. I have nothing to say except massive thanks for the fantastic team Ian, Elaine, Amy and others. Very very accommodating and very understanding people who value buyers emotions and help them in making the process is smooth. Terrible experience dealing with Lucy & then Elaine. This company seem to think they are above you the customer. Very aggressive & condescending which is unacceptable. I would not use them again as it has been an upward hill battle every step of the way. An agent is meant to help you not hinder you with your property transaction. I recommend if you are looking to sell your home that you avoid & go to more professional competitors. There are a lot of better agents in the area.

Hubbard Torlot were actually the third Estate Agent we used to sell our house,and it was most definitely a case of third time lucky, they left the others in the shade. A quick post to thank Ian Hubbard and his team at Hubbard Torlot in helping us with the sale of our 1 bedroom flat in Sanderstead. Ian has gone above and beyound in advising us on the market and when a buyer was found, given we live abroad, he managed everything making the process very simple. We were delighted with his recommendation with respect to a local solicitor to undertake the conveyancing and his communication through the sales process, right up to completion, was second to none. He even sent through final meter readings for the Gas, Electric and Water given we were not local. I ultimately decided to use H&T to sell my flat, due to their being local and various pieces of positive feedback. However I have been left incredibly disappointed with the support and service received over my few months with them. They will charm you into signing on the dotted line with a personable pitch and a nice low percentage rate. But unfortunately, following they failed to deliver to the standard we had hoped for and expected. All said and done, they ultimately did the job and sold my property, though it took many reductions (seemingly their only strategy) and constant pushing my end. Furthermore, the aftercare was non existent. We were rushed to exchange unexpectedly whilst on holiday simply due to poor communication between my buyer and H&T. This was all communicated via a bomb drop exchange date ultimatum in a 5pm email. Following this update, all but one of the Selsdon team went on A\L, on our last min exchange day! Without even a handover in place! In our desperate attempts to follow up on Lucy’s email, we found the only person there a poor guy 3 days into the job having to take the brunt of our constant chasing. We eventually had to try to call other branches for support and thank goodness for Simon in the Warlingham branch for stepping in, otherwise our move could have been delayed for months. We received no apologies for the incompetence, or even a confirmation of exchange from Selsdon branch once it had in fact completed. House buying is meant to be an exciting time. But quite frankly they made it incredibly stressful and we were left feeling very unsupported. The team really need to review their ongoing support to clients and develop a progression system that works effectively. This all being said, we would like to thank Amy for her hard work in helping sell the property, putting herself out for a Sunday morning viewing - wasted talent!

Hubbard Torlot sold our house and we were very pleased with the outcome. Ian was patient and friendly making an otherwise stressful situation easier. Several agents I initially spoke to had suggested rather high prices and others, even before I instructed them, were suggesting I sell to developers at pretty low prices. Hubbard Torlot from the start gave, what I believe, was a realistic valuation and in the end we acheived just a little more. We only had a few viewing days with a string of what appeared to be serious buyers - several offers at the asking price and a couple over that. Once the sale was agreed Ian was available to help whenever there seemed to be a potential hicup.
