TrustpilotFantastic service from wallington branch.
I cannot fault my experience. I have bought a property and subsequently sold a property with the wallington branch. I was so impressed with them whilst buying they were an obvious choice to sell it again. I felt looked after throughout the process and it felt very personal and friendly. Gemma, Alex and Katie (in sales progression) in particular have seriously looked after me and I am very thankful. There communication and professionalism cannot be faulted. I really enjoyed the process with them and I genuinely think without them the process would have been even longer, my solicitors were .... not fantastic and the team helped managed all parts of the chain making sure things were in order. If you want a friendly, personal, professional company I couldn't recommend them more highly.

TrustpilotI was interested in one of their auctions…
I was interested in one of their properties for auction. I tried to get more info from them about problem areas, and they said they didnt have any more info/pics. Then I tried to register for the auction and had all kinds of trouble. They kept refusing for missing corners of ids, not clear enough utility bill, etc. Of course, I was already registered with them for the past 2 years but apparently they need to recheck things. Then they wanted me to have ~$10k+ in a uk bank account. Finally, they gave me one day to send them a ~$10k deposit via wire transfer to participate in the auction which I couldnt complete in that timeframe. Seeing all of these other bad reviews makes me glad I didnt get to participate in the auciton...

TrustpilotUnfortunately I didn't do my research
Unfortunately I didn't do my research. Extremely disappointed with the manager. Service and updates very bad. What a huge learning curve for me. As the saying goes "if I knew what I know now, I would never of gone with them..". I take responsibility for not doing my research.. Do not listen to the promises. At the end of the day find a company that knows your area well, has a track record, do your research. Do not just find someone on the internet, who tells you what you wanna hear.. Make sure their office is within walking distance if possible. Try and get a team that know what they are doing, are responsible and are honest. Just seems a massive scam.. Sooner we put property on the Blockchain, then we can all get away from estate agents, solicitors and ridiculous prices.

TrustpilotI honestly don't know why anyone would choose to use this Estate Agent!
In all honesty, the service from Barnard Marcus is non existent. They talk a good story. However, feedback and proactive communication in relation to your property viewings is non existent. In addition to spending unnecessary time sending emails that are not responded too, I have had the misfortune to have been in some form of contact with individuals who have failed on numerous occasions, to communicate with me, despite repeated requests and their commitments, which have included 2 Branch Managers, Sales Manager from the Chiswick W4 branch and a ‘Head Office contact. If there were prizes for the most ineffective individuals, I suggest you would all be in with an excellent chance of winning joint first prize.

GoogleThis review is for the lettings service. I leased a property for two years through BM. They Service has been unprofessional from the beginning even pre tenancy with the agent telling me I could get the property cheaper than advertised as the landlord was disillusioned about its value. During my tenancy they were uncontactable with staff changing mo they. And now after having ended my tenancy they are holding my deposit against damages that were preexisting and in the original inventory. They have cited a professionally paid for clean as 'dirty because preexisting non removable stains from the oven from use over the past 10years could not be removed. They haveslso not refunded my last month's rent which was taken incorrectly despite being told it would be returned next day. Please avoid if you can.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

TrustpilotAbsolutely appalling service - do not engage unless you want to be harrassed!
Absolutely appalling service. An appropriate property was found quickly, however all services past that point have been shocking. No initial itinerary was done, concerns about the state of the property and some damages were not actioned appropriately or even comminicated with the landlord. The company was late transferring rent payments to the landlord and blamed us, the tennants, when we were in fact paying the rent early. When it came to moving out they used unethical methods of pressurising us into continuing tennancy through their company, threats regarding debt collectors for certain fees from the landlord, which they had no grounds to ask for. Threatened with council checks to see if we are still at the address, when the landlord had agreed to pospone our moving out date due to health issues. This was all because we had stayed a couple of weeks past our move out date and they demanded to be paid £1650 for renewing the contract, when in reality they were told multiple times we are not renewing a contract and we are moving out, however with a delay due to health issues. Absolutely shocking service which has provided both me and the landlord with so much stress!

GoogleTrina was very efficient. We saw the property on Monday and she was able to get us moved in by Thursday, amazingly fast and easy process. We can't thank her enough for going the extra mile too. Cheers! Definitely recommended!

TrustpilotDefinitely not the right estate agent !!
Definitely not the right estate agent to trust , we saw a house with them and we put an offer and the paperwork was going through and ready when they contacted us saying that the papers were late although i sent it to them on time ! A few days ago i had another viewing with them and i put an offer Saturday morning and when we contacted the office Monday morning they told us the sales advisor hasn’t put the offer yet ( no idea why ) so we asked them to do it and then we visited the office again in the afternoon to confirm everything and we asked them how did we lose the first property they told us that the first house we lost was because someone put higher offer ( while our papers were going through) and we didn’t know that because before they blamed it on the papers delay so we asked them for this house and they said yes we are only waiting for the owner response, around 2 hours later they contacted us and said someone put another offer and was accepted, i think there’s something going on between the office people and some buyers and they give the houses to certain people they know !!! there’s no other explanation. that was Barnard Marcus epsom , kingston road branch . So they’ve not just failed to put my offer on time but they didn’t have the nerve to tell me the truth on the first property i lost and the second one as well , and just a few minutes ago we went to the vendor house and asked them politely if they have a higher offer but they said no we had an offer on the asking price which we did as well ! We offered £5000 more than the asking price so the vendor said you need to give the offer to the office we went to the office and as soon as i asked about Mark ( who was dealing with it ) another one starting talking in a rude way and said that the vendor refused your offer and said they’re happy with the offer they got and we’re not allowed to knock on vendors door and then mark finished his phone call and Continue on what his colleague was saying in the same way !!! Honestly i think they have a deal or something with this “ cash buyer “ of them although they know i have everything ready to buy !

TrustpilotBarnard Marcus
Barnard Marcus - Sutton & EpsomReally wish you could score a 0 however not possible. The worst estate agents for lettings (as i’ve experienced). Firstly when moving into the property we were given an initial date and after booking time off of work the day we were meant to move in we found out this was moved by a week. On the new day of moving in we were not contacted and had to keep chasing as to when we could collect the keys. The flat had not been cleaned at all and there was mould in the fridge, when I contacted the branch they advised they weren’t required to clean the flat!We are now looking to stay on for the following year as we actually like the property yet Barnard Marcus can’t seem to get any information correct and the customer service levels are outrageous.Would highly recommend to avoid this company at all costs! There not worth the time or hassle!

TrustpilotDon’t go near this company
I used Barnard Marcus for 18 months. Following rent re-negotiations change they failed update their systems and kept emailing to inaccurately state that my tenant was in arrears. I kept complaining and was twice moved to different property managers within the company but after 6 months this still hadn’t been resolved. They demanded that I paid £600 to break the contract early. Despite doing this the emails have still not stopped. A useless company. Don’t go near them

TrustpilotExcellent Mortgage Advice Services
We recently bought a house, though not from Barnard Marcus, but got connected with their Mortgage Advisor - Monika Werchlewska. She is truly a gem of a person. True to her word, she helped us through to the end of our house purchase. She helped us with not just the mortgage but even to negotiate other aspects of buying a house. She is very knowledgeable and super helpful and friendly person. She helped us understand various aspects to be mindful of while buying a house and got our mortgage approved within 4 days. Highly recommend getting in touch with her if you are looking to buying a house.

They simply lie in the ads! I've just "viewed" a house that I didn't even enter because the ad said that the property had a off street parking, but on site it turned out to be a nasty lie. Terrible practice by this company, they just wasted my time!

TrustpilotWorst estate agent i dealt with
I handed over my property from Yopa to Barnard Marcus to have this sold asap. 7 months down the line only a few viewings with 1 offer which was way under. Communication is the biggest issue this estate agents has and they don't care about your price you want the property sold at but they just want to get rid of it.Would avoid at all costs, have to keep chasing up for feedback, cancellations, updates.Frustrating to say the least. They asked me to reduced my price 3x and even then they could not even get me a decent offer. I honestly believe their client base is awful and they keep blaming the market.

TrustpilotMUST AVOID this agent
MUST AVOID this agent, last year in COVID i had booked rental property and was required to pull out at last min after doing payment but document signature stage. i have been chasing them for refund for last 10+ months and have still not received refund. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with poor service and not professionalism. Also they had reported my details to energy company which kept on chasing me and sending reminder over text, email and call which i had to raise a complaint to address it but agent didn't help to resolve it at all while they had informed Energy company on my details as moving, they should have reported move in cancellation. I followed up with agent but of no support and Energy company wasn't actioning on details i shared.

TrustpilotOur agent Dagmara is simply the best! Highly recommend
I must say our agent Dagmara every step of the way has been exemplary- she put us first as the client and was extremely patient whilst we found our perfect home to move to. She kept our buyer interested and stayed in communication with us, without pushing us hard, we got the sense she actually cared about what we wanted and needed instead of just making a sale. Very effective service from start to completion. Thank you so much, I highly recommend you guys.

I don't normally leave reviews but this time I had too.Found a flat online. I was told the landlord was looking for a long let and good tenants. Was in Italy at the time so couldn't see the place other than what's app videos I was also told parking was available. We got a unfurnished flat. Moved in on the 1st Jan 2021. On the 12th Jan 2021 had calls from another agent. Who had the property for sale. Asking to do viewings during lock down and covid. We asked Barnard Marcus if the landlord wanted to sell, the agent said no.The landlord had viewing since November 2020. (I'm sure Barnard Marcus was aware of these)I wish Barnard Marcus had been honest with us from the get go.So only do we have no parking and was lied to about that. We also have to move out in 6 months. The place was unfurnished, so we spent 6k on furniture had to pay 6 months rent up front. (12k) Had lots of issues of with the flat. A month later its finally being looked into (property management is not very good). At the end of the day, we would have been happy if we found a place with a long let with parking. But at the end of the day nobody likes being lied to. Moving forward we will be triple checking everything with our next place as we don't want to be in this position again.

Trustpilotdisgusting and unprofessional
I viewed a flat with them and they asked for holding deposit! just to put my offer forward to the landlord!!!! and they said we will refund you if the landlord did not accept your offer. Now imagine this could be 10 days of my time wasting if the answer was no. I decided to not to that BUT this is a total lose for the landlords because my offer could have been accepted if that landlord was aware but never been put forward. I would not wanted that if I was a landlord.

TrustpilotVery unprofessional
Very unprofessional. Letted a property through them, had issues with people randomly accessing the property, scheduling viewings without even asking. Absolutely useless at doing any sort of repairs. Still waiting about 6 months for the intercom to be fixed.Currently, the boiler is broken so I don't have hot water or heating and it is 0 degrees - tried contacting them multiple times but they just don't care. In the 13 years I have rented in the UK, I have near had to deal with such incompetence...

TrustpilotThe worst agency I ever had to deal…
The worst agency I ever had to deal with. The contract and they said everything works in the house perfectly whereas when we moved in there was no heating and hot water in the house at end of November. The property manager's response to this after days of waiting for someone to come and fix it, she said it's not an emergency so they can't act without the landlords approval. If something broke in the house and I called them they told us someone is coming to have a look, but no one ever came. When we left with no explanation they took some of our deposit, had to call 3 times to get it sorted and we are still waiting..
