Hi Jessica, it’s taken a little while to respond to your review because I had to fact check some of your claims and I’ve also listened to the calls you made to the office. I take running the business very seriously and when I get the opportunity to investigate a situation I do my very best to remain objective and ensure we all learn any lessons we can to improve. On this occasion, however, I have to say that I think your review is very harsh and some of the things you’ve mentioned are simply not true and don’t stand up to scrutiny. You made an offer initially very late on a Friday just 15 minutes prior to our office being closed for the bank holiday weekend. We communicated this to the vendor and got back to you the next business day advising you that the vendor had declined your offer primarily because it was lower than other offers but also because you did not have your house up for sale and you were reliant on selling your house before you could buy another. In effect, your offer was only a promise which you could not deliver unless your house was sold. Other offers were received and discussed with the vendor. These were progressable or cash buyers. In the end the vendor accepted a much higher offer from a cash buyer and we were instructed to close the sale and instruct solicitors. You managed to locate the vendors personal contact details and make direct contact with them which placed them in a very uncomfortable position and this did not further your cause. Vendors are always in control of who they sell the house to and we always advise clients of all offers no matter how large or small, along with the circumstances of those making the offers. We provide all of the information so that our clients (the seller) can make an informed decision and we provide whatever support they need to help them make the right decision. During the course of my investigation we also shared our process and findings with our client to ensure they were satisfied with the way in which the offer process was handled and they confirmed that they were entirely happy. So, to summarise, in this particular case I’m very satisfied that we acted professionally and transparently and in the best interests of our client (the seller) at all times. For this I can make no apology. We will, however, continue to scrutinise our performance and where there are improvements to be made we will absolutely make them.
