It was easy to get in touch with them, and they were always quick to sort out any issues. We were tenants in a flat managed by Clan Gordon for three years and had no issues whatsoever. We dealt with Anna and Mike during our time at the flat and both were always friendly, attentive and responsive. Having used other letting agents in the past, it was a great relief knowing issues were resolved promptly and that, when it came time to leave the property, the process ran smoothly and exactly as Clan Gordon had explained it would. AWFUL! I'm a Landlord with these guys and can I just say, that if you want to be ignored, passed about between what feels like 100's of different people and have things go missing in your flat whilst they make holes in your walls and then have the cheek to ask you for money to fix the damage a tenant has caused instead of asking the tenant and their guarantor, then yeh, sign up! From the first moment I gave them the keys, we had a package go missing. "Oh, it wasn't us, it must have been the cleaners." OK, can you get in touch with the cleaners? No response. Ignored. "Good news, we have a new tenant moving in!" Great, how is the condition of the property? "Dunno. We don't do post-move out checks." Huh? So I go over and the place is trashed. Holes in the walls, oil paints all over the floor etc. and a new tenant moving in in 3 days. What? I complain and then get a heroic response from them 2 days later saying that they have repaired the damage and cleaned. The cost for their "trusted" contractor is more than the previous tenants deposit though. So instead of providing any form of Landlord care and maybe seeking a few quotes and tendering to get the best price, they ship it out to some hack who comes over, slaps some Matt Vinyl paint EVERYWHERE... all over the wood which was painted with oil based paint, without sanding it first of course, then have the cheek to say... "Do you think the room was in good condition before the tenant moved in? Because if not, we'll have to charge YOU." Eh? I mean, look at the photos you took when I gave you the keys. I decorated the whole flat and no, there were no holes in the walls and no oil paint on the floor. "You'll have to pay the extra then. We don't cover that so you have to pay the contractor minus the deposit." (which was about 200 pounds) So again, I go round to the flat. Oil paint still on the floor, not cleaned just sweeped up some dust, the guy did one coat with his matt vinyl and the place still an absolute tip. So again, I complain and tell them to do their job and get the guy to fix it properly and charge the tenant and their guarantor like they should instead of chasing me for money. Never got a reply. The oil paint is still on the floor. The main issue I have is that they don't do ANY checks once a tenant has moved out. They say they rely on the new tenant to self report. So the tenant basically has to do their job. I've just been round to my flat and items from the inventory are missing and there is damage to the carpet and wall, and funnily enough, it's them that caused some of it. I have no idea where the curtains are. I just get emails saying "everything is OK on our 6 month check" but clearly they just go in, take some pics, I complain and then nothing happens. It's impossible to tell who has taken the curtains now, as they don't do post-tenant checks, so now I have to fork out and get new ones for the next tenant. They also moved one of the fire alarms. Fine. But forgot to fill the drill holes where they had previously put it. So that's more work/money for me. Cheers guys. I mean, the funny thing is that there's honestly another 100 issues I could write about, ending with a small novel of issues, but really I'll just give you a word of warning... If you want a good, honest company that cares about your property and does it's best for you, the person who pays them, then please DO NOT hire these guys. Every time I email I get a different person too. I have no idea who is accountable and I'm fed up with them. My latest is an email 4 days ago that I receive a response saying "Thank you for your concerns, we are very busy today but I'll pass it on to the appropriate person and get back to you tomorrow". Still waiting. Sums it all up. Just poor, poor service from a company that just wants to make money and treat you like an ATM.

Myself and my girlfriend have been in our new flat for almost 3 weeks now and are very happy with our experience with Clan Gordon! The process of moving in was very smooth and they provided us with an easy experience during a stressful time. Since we moved in, they have been very supportive with any inquiries that we have had. We recently moved from abroad to Edinburgh and we saw about 8-10 apartments before deciding to get one. We were shown properties by multiple agencies/agents across town; our experience with Clan Gordon was actually the best one, both in terms of energy, as well as the conditions offered (e.g. they threw in another cleaning of the apartment pro-actively, without us asking). Overall the process was very good, Carrie was super responsive to all the questions we had throughout, and Euan was very on it during the visit, his enthusiasm definitely helped. Definitely would recommend them!

After renting in Edinburgh for 5 years in flats ran by private landlords, I was worried about moving to a flat managed by an agency, as I had heard lots of horror stories about some agencies online and from friends. Dealing with Clan Gordon so far has been an absolute breath of fresh air all the way from making the tenancy application, to moving in and resolving any issues that arose in the flat. Communication has been fantastic throughout and they quickly found me amazing tenants, both of which has made for an extremely smooth and stress-free landlord experience - particularly as i was living outside of Edinburgh. Just moved in with Clan Gordon and they are great. Really appreciate how they don’t overcrowd their viewings with ten other people viewing the property at the same time as you, actually makes you feel like you’ve got a chance. Small gripe being the admin on the application, as that took the better part of 2 hours to do (payslips, I.D, previous tenancies etc) but I appreciate it’s very important. Upon moving into to property, I got another full tour from Mike. He showed me around and how to use all the important features such as the boiler. Small details like that are super helpful and personal. So far so good, and couldn’t recommend more!

Really an excellent team of professionals to deal with, throughout our tenancy. We were renting a flat with them from Dec 2018 to Sep 2022 which was c 4yeras. Thanks to Mike for being an excellent property manager for us who is now the head of property management with Clan gordon. We always felt comfortable to discuss the issues and each and every issue was address be it small or big. Starting from normal window paintings to kitchen floor replacement including a dishwasher installation for our comfortable stay during the lockdown every request was handled by the team with pleasure and we are really satisfied with the services received throughout. Eventually it was time for us to move to our own home, the experience till the last day and even while dealing with our safe deposit return request - everything was concluded with proper professionalism and with a very good mutual understanding and we got almost our full deposit back even after a 4 years of stay! So I can vouch for it- if you maintain the property well your deposit is always safe. If you think of renting a property with Clan gordon team, be assured you will have the best experience. I recently rented a flat from them, and I am extremely happy so far! In the beginning, among several viewings arranged by other agents, Clan Gordon already gave me the best impression (sorry I forgot the name of the person attended), because he answered all the questions immediately and did not rush me. Following the application, Louise arranged another viewing and extremely warmly helped me make the final decision to take the flat. She was also very kind and relaxed me over the phone during the process of signing the contract, which includes many things like reference check. After signing the contract, Mike met me to provide a key and explain the flat in detail, in an efficient yet very friendly manner. Most notably, he has handled a number of questions and issues, which I have noticed since the beginning of the contract, always very quickly in emails or attendance in the flat. This is particularly helpful, because it is impossible to notice everything during viewings. Now I can feel them like a very reliable partner; even in case of moving in the future, I really would like to get a flat from them again. Added on 13/08/2021 I recently moved out of the flat - the process was very efficient and the check-out instructions were clear. Deposit was also returned very quickly.
