GoogleI cannot fault Jacob and the team at Martin & co Stirling. Jacob kept me informed the entire journey from viewing to acceptance to moving in. A. Total. Breeze! A top guy. The office staff incredibly kind too and flexible with me being able pick up my keys before work and making sure if I had any questions it wouldn’t be a bother to ask them. This is the company to use for property in Stirlingshire.

Grateful to Martin and co and most especially the property manager Arlene McKena for the timely response when our boiler broke down. It is Winter season and I was worried about us not having heating or hot water for days but they acted so quick and got us a brand neq boiler. Arlene was also excellent when I was moving in, she always responded to concerns on a timely manner and made me feel at home in the new house.

GoogleI have been renting through Martin & Co Stirling for nearly 10 years, and this year has shown me serious issues in how they handle tenants when problems arise. Since 27 January 2025, I have been living with very intrusive noise from the shop directly below my flat. I raised the issue promptly via My Property File, but the agency ignored it for months, and it was later cancelled without any explanation or communication. I tried to live with the noise during that time, but it was clearly unmanageable, so I reached out again in May. Martin & Co Stirling apologised for their silence but made little effort to ensure my landlord, who remains closely connected to the shop, took action to resolve the noise. In my experience, they did not emphasise my landlord’s responsibility to provide a habitable property and repeatedly told me to “wait” for services that never fixed the problem. While the agency does not control the shop itself, they and my landlord are responsible for ensuring the flat is suitable for living. At one point, a Martin & Co Stirling agent relayed a comment from my landlord about him “not having raised the rent,” which, given it was said in response to my noise complaint, felt unsettling. Retaliating against tenants over reasonable, legitimate complaints is unlawful under Scottish tenancy law. Updates were promised but never came, emails were said to have been sent but never materialised, and they refused to put anything in writing. Since the noise began, it has severely impacted my life and my ability to live peacefully. I have been forced to avoid both the lounge and main bedroom during the hours it runs (3pm, 11pm). Martin & Co Stirling, along with my landlord and the shop owner, were fully informed of the situation but took no meaningful steps to resolve it. From my perspective, Martin & Co Stirling, my landlord, and the shop owner have spent nearly 8 months evading responsibility and stalling. They have done nothing but offer vague timelines for supposed fixes that lead nowhere. Environmental Health are now investigating the shop for a statutory nuisance, and I believe this process could have been avoided if the agency and my landlord had adequately addressed the issue. To make matters worse, in late August I had to move my mattress onto the floor on the other side of the flat due to overnight noise from the shop that now runs 24/7. In my experience, the agency has shown little empathy, accountability, or professionalism. This situation has been extremely difficult to endure, and it seems they have little interest in protecting the wellbeing of tenants. I will not allow the months of relentless, debilitating disturbance I have endured to be minimised or downplayed. If you value honesty, support, and a basic duty of care, I cannot recommend Martin & Co Stirling.

They were very accessible, proactive and helpful, particularly Mohammed who was our main point of contact! I would 100% recommend Martin & Co. They were by far the best lettings agent we have dealt with!
