We went to visit Ash Lea Court to put my mum on the waiting list. We were greeted by a lady called Shelly. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and immediately made us feel at home. My mum was feeling rather anxious but now thanks to Shelly can’t wait to move in. Thank you

TrustpilotExcellent activities and care to…
My father of 80 has recently had to relocate from the south coast after many years, to be nearer me for his care needs. I must praise Debbie Hitchcock the scheme manager at Five Rivers Goole who has helped him settle in so well and he's very happy. Debbie and Sue are the managers and are consistently professional and organised and get things sorted quickly and efficiently. I have to say that the amount of activities at Five Rivers is brilliant - quizzes, Bingo, game show style activities, fish and chips lunches-there is an activity almost daily and its so good to see. My dad is, starting to get involved too after a long time of isolation with his partner who he cared for. The place is always immaculate and there's always life around which is so good to see. The residents seem very happy with Debbie and say its thanks to her that so many activities take place. Highly recommend five Rivers and it makes me feel so much more reassured knowing my Dad is there.

We are fed up with the rubbish spouted by anchor...When Hanover were our landlords, things got done. As soon as they fell into bed with the Anchor slumlords, the bathroom modifications got shelved, and things got delayed. We even had an anchor photographer come to visit us, as Anchor wanted to know the condition of the stock they were taking over, and he said to my wife "never seen a bathroom like this before". Incidentally, this photographer is no longer employed by anchor. We have had enough, and doing the bathroom ourselves, be nice if the CEO chipped in with her nearly 1/2 million pound salary...(yes, check it out). Anchor have no interest in their tenants, but like to talk the talk. Talk of new constructions, but fail to maintain, modernise their current stock.

TrustpilotMany on here have an axe to grind with this housing association, you should form a group will give you more power at moment it seems this housing association dont care what your writting about
Anchor housing management simply show they don't care about tenants of theirs. Some onsite managers goes around like prison warden on the sheltered housing estate. One day i called him a liar and it was true he lied, his reply, Alan you call me a liar again and i will beat you! What was he going to beat me with? Makes one think. Other incidents come to my office there has been a complaint against you, heard those words from the same housing manager more than 30 times over the years. issues of complaint manager makes, you have washing drying at your open louvres doors inside your flat, dont use the washing line, yes correct fear dogs keep weeing over the washing line post, another! you have family living with you, "No they have come to visit for the day", it don't stop the allegation after allegation from this manager, does he think its a prison service hes running. "There has been a complain" ruddy-well heard that so often it does your brain in. but when it comes to dog pooing under our kitchen window everyday for months even today this morning Thursday 26th may 2022, and now july 2022 same thing he does nothing to stop it along with the new area manager, its near 5 months going on 6 months now, its all well documented evidence so it cant be denied , neighbours all men some think its a great laugh all this going on against us , nice neighbours with a strong dog biscuit throwing supporters club. in front of our property edging the dog on to eat more so it poos again, Estate manager none existent to deal with it, so is he part of it ? makes one think that way. I hope you get this message Area manger She/her York can you please send me the latest of who, what, when, allegations that have been made against us I believe in retaliation to this dog pooing complaint which i have asked for it to be moved moved on to stage 2 of the complaints procedure having asked area manager no end of times to no avail getting a reply , as an agent for a housing assiciation should not accuse someone with out supplying any evidence to support the allegations, frustrated with no replies so please send today! No reply to suppling any evidence against us date now August 2022 ?

TrustpilotOffered a property
Offered a property. Told it would be 6-8 weeks before we could sign up. Put our property up for sale. Got a buyer. Sold the property after 9 weeks. Date for completion at Anchor property moved and moved and changed. Negotiated with our buyer for extra time. Finally couldn't put it off any more, and gave Anchor a date for completion of our sale. The works promised had not even begun. Blame was shifted from one party to another, and one person to another. Yesterday was 16 weeks since we viewed... And today we are staying in alternative accommodation until the work is completed. Belongings are in one place, we are in another. One room and a bathroom. No cooking facilities, no washing up. Cannot register with the doctor, can't change the driving licences or the TV licence or inform the pension service. We have fallen between the cracks. No one has taken responsibility for any of it. Very disappointed, but hoping it really can't get worse. Is the future any brighter... We shall see.So I responded to the reply, and I emailed the address given... to get an email saying response by phone or email will be forthcoming in the next 2 WORKING days... it's Friday today!

I have existed at an Anchor property for three years. The so called management are never there and on the rare occasions they are, never put a full day in. From entering the building they enter their office, lock it and pull the blinds down. ALL DAY. We are told by them on a daily basis they have no Duty of Care towards us and even if we fall down they will not act. I have been a Registered Manager of Care Homes for 20 years. I know what i am talking about. This Company is a disgrace and if youre thinking of placing a loved one with this Company, run a mile. Seriously.

TrustpilotSt.Edith's Court, Hillside Crescent, Leigh-on-Sea
St.Edith's Court, Leigh-on-sea is where my family decided to place our father due to his complex needs increasing. Our tour and information guide was given by a senior carer and all our questions were answered competently. We instantly felt a warm, caring, respectful environment thrived at St. Edith's. Our father has lived there since November 2021 and has described the home and beautiful gardens as "heaven." His transition into the home was managed respectfully and Anchor staff have treated our father with respect, care, compassion at all times. We have never seen our father so happy and he has joined in all the social activities that are available throughout the day. All the staff have made a conscious effort to know our father and his interests and have adapted activities to his liking. Whenever we visit, there is always a warm welcome and you are made to feel part of the home. Regular displays of activities that residents have taken part in are updated around the home which is visual assurance for loved ones and stimulation for residents. Staff are always seen conversing with residents and shown respect. Lockdown has been addressed by the home in a positive manner and residents have taken part in daily "golden hour" conversations where all staff, of all descriptions make sure residents are conversed with. Relatives are kept informed of the home's daily activities and a monthly zoom meeting is well attended. Food is cooked on site with an excellent choice available. The home is immaculate both inside and outside with a stunning garden area for residents and relatives to enjoy. I cannot thank Anchor for employing such wonderful people and putting residents care as a topmost priority. Thank You to each and everyone of you.

TrustpilotLake Head Court, Keswick.
My father moved in to Lake Head Court in Keswick, 12 months ago, to say his life has changed is an understatement. Lake Head Court is friendly and immaculately clean, this is down to Katharine the manager and the team. He moved from an isolated village where he walked very little, he now regularly walks around town between my house and my brothers, he often talks about the new friends and the support he is given at Lake Head Court. Also taking regular trips around Cumbria on the bus, previously his opportunity to travel was limited to two buses a week . If there is an example of excellence on independent living in a sheltered environment Lake Head Court is it.

I wrote a review regarding Anchor Housing selling water to customers at Poplar Court Manor road Scarbourough they asked for my contact information, they have made no contact. A one bedroom flat at this location will have water cost of £713.00 a year £59.42 a month They have produced a statement showing a £6,000 deficit re there water charges, It has to be taken into consideration this is based on what they choose to charge for water, NOT what the actual cost of water is from the Water board, Anchor Housing is claiming to be a non profit making organisation, how can they justify making profit on the sale of water? especially in a time when cost of gas and electricity are at an all time high, we have no alternative but to contact our MP/Councillor/Ombudsman ext. in the hope that Anchor will show they are actually a not for profit organisation.

TrustpilotWith Anchor (charitable not for profit company) it is quite clear that charity begins at home (but not our homes). the only
My last review of De Havilland Way, Abbots Langley, was in September. Not much has changed since then. We are now approaching 2 years since the last Resident Estate Manager left before the first Covid lockdown. Anchor are still charging in full for a 22 hour per day resident manager, while only providing a 4 hour per week . Contractors are unsupervised. Complaints about overcharging are ignored. Promises of a new manager are regularly made but not fulfilled. Other residents have moved away or died and will never be recompensed for the continued overcharging. The only improvement has been since the management structure changed. We now have a much more pleasant and approachable Area Manager and Temporary (4 h/week) visiting site manager. Unfortunately they seem powerless to influence the Anchor culture of taking residents money for services not provided. Anyone might think Anchor is strapped for cash. That is rubbish. Annual turnover is £522 million, Annual Operating costs are £460 million, Annual operating surplus is £60 million. Here's where the charity is - Directors'emoluments are £2+ million of which the CEO's take home pay, including bonuses (for doing a great job???- I doubt it!) and perks like private healthcare and car allowance total £430,000. Meanwhile, residents of his estate have in the last 2 years been overcharged by almost £1,000 and this looks set to continue at about £42 per month. So clearly charity begins at the homes of the CEO and directors. The company is just a money grubbing machine. Emails written by its employees (if you can get a response) all come with a disclaimer which says in effect that the are the views of individuals whose views may not represent the company views and Anchor does not accept any responsibility for what they say. So why do they bother replying at all instead of weasel words which mean nothing. The Custome Services Manager, Jonathan Earnshaw, has a smiley face and writes on his page ion the website, "We pride ourselves in delivering a high standard of service, though realise that things can go wrong ... our aim is to resolve your complaint as quickly as possible". What planet is Bradford on? I always thought it was in Yorkshire, where the really understood the meaning of "brass"!!!Anchor rubbish - steer clear if you can.
