We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

GoogleThe Management Team at Stafford have since we ventured into Buy to Let Properties over the past f ew years given value for money and excellent service. From the onset of securing tenants to the updating and upkeep of property issues. The Property Manager Lauren Howells and her organizational skills in prompt resolution to those issues has meant that tenants are happy. It would be remiss of me not to mention the input from time to time of Stephen Barber and Sheila who at times end up dealing with sticky issues. All in all what a fantastic Team to have. We could not wish for any better - Many thanks to you all Sheila & John Alcock

We went to Bridgfords because they got the best reviews on Google. OMG if they are the best, just imagine what the worst would be like. Gave us a very dodgy valuation 30% above what we eventually sold it for.

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

GoogleViewing a property in Stafford, had trouble getting the keys to the property's garage to view it. Despite asking repeatedly for keys for it our requests were ignored. When I raised it again as I was concerned about whether I would need to make alternative arrangements to secure the garage upon moving in, I was told rather patronisingly not to worry about it and I could rest assured that all would be fine as they (Bridgfords) were well experienced at handling such matters. Not confident in this, I contacted them, yet again, two days before completion as I was concerned this issue had not been addressed. Sure enough I was right. I reminded them that the vendor was contractually obliged to supply all keys as per our contract. Was called back later and told keys would be ready for me to collect from them upon completion day. They were not!!! Trying to explain my annoyance at not dealing with my reasonable request to the staff at Bridgfords was like talking to a brick wall. They had no grasp of the impact of the importance of not being able to secure my belongings in the garage on the day of moving in despite my repeated requests so I reminded them that the vendors were in breach of contract and that their apathy in sorting out what should be a relatively straightforward issue would probably not go down well with their clients. The manager was disinterested, lookingat me like I was being ridiculous which to me typified their attitude and inability to take control and sort it out like they should have down weeks ago. They contacted the vendor and said the keys were on their way, so now I had to wait for them to turn up, delaying my moving in and holding up the removals. When I asked how long, they had to phone the vendor again (poor forward thinking eh) and this time was told the keys to the garage had been posted through the house letter box. At last! (So I thought) went to the house, not the garage keys!!!! Another set of house keys!! Phoned Bridgfords again, left it with them, again reminded them ofcthe contractual obligation and that their vendor might not appreciate a bill for calling put a locksmith to fit new lock and that it was their (Bridgfords) apathy that led to this. A couple of hours later Bridgfords called back saying they were sending out a locksmith and they would pay the bill. At least I finally had a solution but Bridgfords could have saved themselves and me a lot of hassle if they had established the status that there were no keys from the start. Had they done so, I would have known where I stood and I would have known in advance that I would need to buy new locks without any undue worry in doing so. This wasn't the only issue with them, They were very poor at returning calls, didn't seem interested once they knew the sale was 'in the bag' and at times a little too condescending for my liking. And before you think I've been a bit melodramatic, I'm pretty thick skinned and not sensitive to little things, I work in the military so am used to hard faced attitudes but what I won't tolerate is a laissez faire attitude and lack of basic respect for simple, reasonable requests which are met with an air of contempt. Bridgfords were a little too good at that for my liking!!!
Dear Mr Wilson, thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you feel your experience with Bridgfords Lettings has been a negative one. I understand your frustration from establishing where and how to collect and obtain keys for the property. We understood that the vendor was able to supply keys in addition to the keys held by the branch. It is not unusual for vendors to retain keys until they have been informed by their solicitor that legal completion has taken place, especially if the property being sold is empty, as they may require access prior to completion. In most transactions when legal completion has taken place keys are expected to be supplied within a reasonable time once they have had this confirmation. When you collected the keys from the office it was established that further keys would be provided from the vendors parents. I understand that one of your main concerns was establishing if a garage key would be provided by the vendor which I agreed could have been better handled. The vendors parents informed us they had gone directly to the property with the rest of the keys. Following your phone call later that day to inform us that there was no garage key provided by the vendor or the vendors parents we acted quickly to resolve the issue and arranged a locksmith to attend that afternoon at no cost to yourself or our vendor. I do agree that we should have acted on your concern about the garage key sooner and I apologise that this was not established and we will put actions in place to avoid this happening in the future. I do understand your frustration in relation to the keys and its great to receive your feedback to ensure that we can improve our service going forward, not only for our clients but for the purchasers buying a property with Bridgfords as well.

A one star rating is too good for this business! Completely inept from the agent to their so-called professional mortgage broker. Allowed seller's solicitor to harass and bully me and also bombarded me with messages whilst at work but didn't answer calls when I tried to contact them. I am now out of pocket as seller has withdrawn the property even though it still shows for sale.

There's a For Sale sign been up on a house we've passed a few times over the past 2 weeks but can't find it on their website or Rightmove. I rang one of the branches to be told, indignantly, I'd rang the wrong office. I pointed out that there is no local office and as this one is relatively close by, I thought I'd try them. He said he had 'no idea' but he'd look. Terrible telephone manner, told him I'd look myself. Tried another office and was told it's not being marketed yet as the owner has been choosing the photos. Fair enough but I asked why the sign was up and was told because it's for sale. Very confusing. Sort yourselves out Bridgfords. Glad you aren't selling our house!

We used Bridgford's in Halifax to sell our property. My main concern with them was that they hardly ever answered the telephone and relied upon an answer machine. Add onto this the fact that on numerous occasions they didn't return our calls. They didn't manage to sell our property and we do wonder if prospective buyers calls weren't returned either.Secondly feedback from them on enquiries, market data and ongoing support and advice was non existent. Overall customer service was poor to say the least.

Well, where do I start? I don't recommend this agency at all. All the agents are useless. Customer service, professionalism is lacking at Bridgfords. We rented a property back in 2022, that we had to leave because mould and MICE both h&s hazards weren't solved and reported to the council (with someone vulnerable in the property). The flat was very dirty when we move in and now they are trying to charge us for the cleaning. They painted the flat and now they are trying to get this from our deposit. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. we have tried our best to solve these issues, but they have no decency. They always try to blame the landlord but I don't even think the landlord is aware at this point. please look for another agency and make yourself a favour.

GoogleDealt with almost every member of staff af Stafford Bridgfords during buying our recent house purchase. Everyone was curtious and polite and very helpful throughout the whole process, with a special mention for Alison who was quite simply fantastic. If I ever come to sell my house in the future it will be Alison and Bridgfords that I contact first. I wont hesitate to recommend you to friends and familly.
