Buying our new house

Having both my wife and myself caught Covid-19 at the time of completion, and so not able to physically take possession of our new home, at St Michael’s Park, Northampton, Sales team, Aimee and Jeanette, did everything they could to ensure that our delay, before moving in, was without worry or strife. They have both been most helpful, quick and accommodating in fixing any problems when they have occurred. We felt relaxed when dealing with them when we first met them, due to the friendly way they conduct themselves, whist showing us round the show homes. They kept us informed of the progress prior to completion, making us feel that Morris homes cares for its customers. Lovely ladies both.

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. Don’t get fooled by the sales experience.customer care simply ignore you until your warranty is up.They are probably the worst builder out there in terms of customer care. In our estate everyone is complaining and they ignore us. Even the MD has been involved, same attitude!Buy from any other builder NOT Morris Homes

Unprofessional/ deceit

📌Quite disappointed in a day (4/11/2022) I was supposed to be thrilled - incorrect bathroom flooring placed even though I told them during their installation that they had the wrong colour. They kept installing the wrong floor to get the mortgage.- Expected to have wardrobes from hammonds in the 3 bedrooms, nothing in yet. No date planed to change the incorrect floor or have my wardrobes installed. 📌3 WEEKS LATER and I still don’t have my wardrobes.. .THOSE WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAID.The finishes were poorly done: I have hair and dusts stuck to the sealant… We have dirty soda cans in the loft... - Paid upfront for electronic garage door, not delivered in 3 weeks and when scheduled there was no proper electrical setup for it. I have asked for my money back , nothing yet. They have the product, my money and I have nothing, not even an answer. It's frustrating...very disappointed with Morris.📌 29/11 was the date scheduled by hammonds and Morris to finish my third and last wardrobe. They didn’t show up and didn’t call to let us know. This was previously marked by the company themselves....and THEY DIDN’T SHOW UP. The wardrobes have already been paid. IN FULL. I don’t have my money or my wardrobes, it looks and feels like we're being deceived. SHAME. We have been sending emails to Morris with no commitments, NO ASNWER. - I still have the 2 previously half-installed wardrobes to fix: one is poorly finished, missing shelves and cut in half , and the other wardrobe is missing two drawers. - I'm still waiting for the refunds for other things not delivered - electronic garage, lights, sockets - all which had been paid in full and expected to be refunded over a week ago. Another deceit.

Caring service

When i originally booked flat 1 at Teape Close i was looking forward to moving in within a few months. Unfortunately the transaction had many legal snarlups and the flat was taken back by morris homes. An alterntive flat was then offered to me. I was happy with the gesture. Happily for me flat 1 was re offered to me a few months later and has since resulted in my moving in to flat. What i am most touched by were the help, support and morale booster given by Jeanette and Amie. The months were fraught with anxiety as subsequent paper work took longer than expected. But these two wonderful ladies kept my hopes up with their posivity. I regard them as friends today.

Bartle Meadows - Lovely New Home

We are really pleased with our lovely new Morris home at Bartle Meadows in Cottam, Preston. The build quality and finish are great, and any little snags have been fixed quickly. The assistant site manager, Ryan, and the site manager Craig, have been absolutely brilliant. They are so easy to contact, very friendly, and so helpful and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. They are a great team and a real asset to Morris Homes. We cannot thank them enough.

Don’t expect any after care …

When we brought our home the service was fantastic especially from sales advisor Megan, then when we moved in and up till we got moved over to the customer care team to take of any issues the service was great HOWEVER Once we were moved over to the customer care team the service has been abysmal, We are currently living opposite what can only be described as a mini Grand Canyon on a site that should be a nature reserve, we were initially told back in June that this would be there for a couple of weeks maximum, however 3 months later it’s still there and due to the amount of mud and debris there our home and cars are constantly covered in dust from there, to a point whereby it’s imbedded into the paintwork of my partners brand new car when we informed the customer care team we were told that this is something that we had to deal with by living on an active building site, (None of the other properties or vehicles are anywhere near as coated as ours as they are not near the mud heap,) The aftercare team are very dismissive of any problems So if you want a nice home then I’d recommend a Morris Home however don’t expect any after care

Myself and my partner bought out first home with Morris Homes earlier this year and the experience has been wonderful - mainly due to the customer service of Jeanette our Sales Advisor at St Michael's Park in Northampton!Jeanette has answered every query, reassured us at every stage and has gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy with our home and feel welcomed to the area. No request has been too much, no question has been a silly one, just genuine friendly and caring service, and getting to experience our keys being handed over with her was emotional for all of us! Morris St Neots were very interested until …

Morris were very interested until we signed the reservation for the plot. Many times we phoned the site but no answer. Emails rarely got answered. For months after that we weren't allowed anywhere near the plot Health and Safety of course. The first time thats happened on any of the other New Houses we've bought. Maybe it was to stop us seeing the inferior brickwork at a time when we could say knock it down. The only access we had was peering over a fence at the end of the road to get a very limited side view. This limited view however, gave us the opportunity to see a close up of how the Julliette balconies were temporarily replaced with garden fences just to get a tick in the box for the certificate. Oh yes and the Health and Safety issue they were creating with my drive. First visit we were allowed to see the inside we did see what a tip the house was. Never mind we were told "We QA the houses before we sign them off. The house will be perfect ". It was far from perfect. 8 pages of snagging including a 5 foot crack in the render. The front of the house was different to the brochure graphics which was all we had seen before the visit. On moving in day it was obvious that the house wasn't ready. While I was going round the house the Sales Rep had taken the keys holding them for ransom until we had signed the forms. 5 minutes to check a house. When we arrived at the house on Moving in day the house sale was complete and I owned the house. None of this mattered as the Sales Rep needed a text or it hadn't happened. This caused tension to say the least. Couldn't be helpful and make a phone call. All this with my removals outside. First view as I walked into the kitchen to sign the papers was that I had a turfed garden like the Himalayas which was replaced but hardly top class. Now nearly 5 months on the 8 pages are down to 4 but the response which we first praised has gone distinctly cold. We even praised Morris for their actions on the night we had a flood, after 10 days, caused by the groundworkers not flushing the drains. But we're still waiting for the Emergency plumber. After 4 months I don't think they're coming.

Morris Homes nothing but incompetence

Morris Homes have shown nothing but negligence and incompetence at St. George's Field. They have irresponsibly abandoned the site, leaving it dangerously incomplete. The exposed roads and raised ironworks are a severe hazard. The playgrounds, neglected and overgrown, are now utterly unsafe for children. Their disregard for community safety and basic standards is appalling.

Stress free experience, Highly recommend!

Our experience with Morris Homes has been nothing short of fantastic. Starting with viewings with Sandra (sales manager) and Mark (site manager) who made the whole experience stress free. Sandra in particular worked tirelessly to make sure our sale went through effortlessly. Sandra and Vic are a credit to the company, always available for a chat and will gladly jump straight on to any quires or issues we may have.If we ever move out of our dream home, we will definitely make a consious effort to move into another Morris homes property.

They’ve improved the design and it is much nicer than the Cranleigh show house at Kings Lea Cottam and it exceeds our expectations.Friendly help and advice from Lisa and Ryan making buying and moving in easier than expected. Morris Homes Wintringham - St Neots

With the months of delays we were expecting to move into a pretty perfect home. This was far from it!! The sales process was already a mix of emotions, from never being allowed to view our home through the build process to check how it was going to the constant delays. The day we collected our keys I cried, and these were not happy tears. It was like we had bought a second hand home. The carpets were stained, the house was dirty, incorrect fixtures and fittings, poor workmanship, the list goes on! After hiring a snagger, even with the advice of the sales team telling us we didn’t need to waste our money as they take pride in there properties! it turned out the eye level things were minor in comparison to some of the other issues. No loft insulation, the house not meeting fire safety hazards in many aspects, again the list goes on. It was far from a finished home and we couldn’t move into it for 19 days after completion due to the amount of work that still had to commence! Luckily we were in a position to be able to stay elsewhere. Would defiantly not buy a new build home from Morris Homes again!! Thanks for making our first time buyers experience horrific!!!

I travelled from Lancashire to Northampton to view a show home as there were none available to view in the North West. I met Jess who showed me round the house; she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
