I just rented a house in Glasgow via Dj Alexander. Caroline met us at the viewing she was amazing made everything easy. She replied to every question even when it was a weekend end. Refrening and moving process was all done smoothly and promptly. Even when hading over the keys Caroline met us at the property and made sure everything was OK before she left. I Highly recommend them.

This will be a lengthy and comprehensive review of the service provided by DJ Alexander.Prior to renting my property out I was advised that some additional minor works needed to take place. After having just spent significant sums replacing all doors and windows and installing a new kitchen and bathroom I was reluctant and not in a position to pay up front. The agent advised me that the cost of these works would be recouped from rental income and so I agreed to them.Unfortunately due to DJ Alexander being wholly incompetent my property sat empty for 3 months and I was continually harassed by them during this time to make payments for these works. Eventually I was forced to market the property myself and also demand that DJ Alexander process an application from a tenant. I had sent many prospective tenants to them however most were unable to complete their "check box" system and were unable to proceed. I subsequently discovered that they had set the income requirement to 3x the annual rental value meaning many prospective tenants failed this check. My rental guarantee insurance only sets this requirement to 2.5x.After demanding they process a particular tenants application they then failed to perform a credit check on one of the tenants guarantor'. This has left my rent guarantee insurance invalid for the last 7 months, unbeknownst to me. The "management" and customer service provided is beyond appalling. Every month they breach our agreement by taking 14+ days to remit the rental income to my account. If they have hundreds of properties on their books I can imagine they generate a tidy sum in interest by doing this. Unfortunately things go from bad to worse. Contractors on their system provide estimates for 2-3x the actual value of the works. I have multiple examples and I believe this may be due to some fee added by DJ Alexander to allow them on their system. I was quoted £330 for a job which I had resolved for £100. Another quote was £4400 which was resolved for £1800. There is no reason why these quotes are so high in comparison, the only connection is that they both came from their system.They do not respond to queries or provide a call back as promised. One of their agents collected my mail from the property 5 months ago during an inspection without my knowledge or consent. It's fair enough that the tenant just handed it to them and asked them to forward it however what follows is wholly unacceptable and frankly, illegal. The tenant informed me immediately after the agent left. I called DJ Alexander's office and was advised that they would forward my mail. This didn't happen and 2 more calls were placed over the next 2 weeks and each time I was assured they had my mail and it would be sent to me. After 5 or 6 weeks nothing had arrived and so I emailed the initial agent who's details I had and he requested customer services respond to me. They didn't bother. I continued pressing for my mail via email and making calls over the coming weeks which became months. I had no response to my emails and my calls were always met with "we have your mail, it will be sent" or "someone will get back to you, I can't say when but they will".It's now been in excess of 5 months and after raising my concerns and being passed to a senior manager, that individual has now come back to me and lied. They claim the mail was now returned to sender however unfortunately for them there were 3 letters I was expecting, all appropriately labelled with RTS addresses and not a single person has received the letter they sent back.After informing this individual that it was illegal to interfere with a persons mail, they have come back to me, a client and despite the many previous proclamations of we have it and it will be sent, it's now magically been returned to sender, despite none of the senders receiving them. 3 separate individuals and not one has been returned. DJ Alexander have thrown my mail in the bucket and are now directly lying to me, a client. I am forced to organise all the maintenance myself as their contractors are extortionate. I am forced to arrange all safety certifications as their charges are extornionate. I receive absolutely nothing in the way of customer service for the 10% they take. They hold rental income for 2 weeks, in breach of our agreement. They have now progressed to lying directly to me after having committed a criminal offence by disposing of my mail without consent. I never asked them to collect my mail and forward it, they assumed that obligation when they took it from the tenant.Frankly if you are a landlord there are far better letting agents to use than DJ Alexander. I'm currently down 3 months lost rent, paid in excess of £1100 for 9 months "management" £300 in "marketing" and received nothing but incompetence, contempt and lies in return.
