I would like to thank Callum Huntley. He was very professional from start to finish and helped me purchase my first home. Although, I was accepted for a mortgage with my bank they did not offer the mortgage on the property I wanted. However, Callum got me in touch with another mortgage broker who not only got me a mortgage, she also helped me get a better rate. All I can say is he is an asset to the company, you hear estate agency horror stories so I am very glad I worked with a professional honest individual like Callum.

*Warning: Northwood St Albans' Deposit Handling* I'm sharing my experience with Northwood St Albans to caution future tenants. I rented an apartment from them (April 2024 - September 2025) and had a nightmare getting my deposit back. They claimed £1200 from my deposit for unjustified and, in most cases, completely fabricated reasons. The claims were not backed by any evidence or data, and it was clear they were trying to exploit me. Complete disregard for check in and check out reports. After lengthy negotiations with the agent, I managed to get the claim reduced to £400, but I strongly believe I would have gotten a further deduction if I had pursued a formal dispute. However, considering the lengthy and arduous process involved, I decided not to follow through. *Key Takeaways:* - *Dispute everything*: Don't hesitate to raise a formal dispute, even if it seems daunting. Northwood's claims may be exaggerated or fabricated (lies in my case), and you will most likely get a more favorable outcome. - *Don't trust their claims*: They may make baseless claims without evidence. A Truly Outstanding Agent, Emily Shaw I cannot recommend Emily Shaw enough! Meeting her at the viewing was a breath of fresh air. We have rented our property with Northwood (formally Jordans) since 2008 and we cannot recommend them more highly. Under Tim's guidance his team have provided a first-class service, responsive, professional and value for money. I can only add to my long term experience: (August 2024) a rather costly maintenance issue arose however with some judicious investigation by Chanel (Maintenance) she was able to identify that the product was still under guarantee and was repaired without cost. That sums up the effectiveness of the Northwood organisation. Thank you Chanel!

An absolute legend! Elizabeth has had her finger firmly on the pulse in all my dealings with her. She has a very good approach to documenting who she has spoken and always follows up to ensure the task has been complete. To cut a long story short I stopped using another local Lettings company as they were poorly managing several properties that I had with them. There were so many issues with utility companies and local council all chasing debts which the previous tenants were all responsible . My previous agents were not updating these records and as a result debt companies were wanting to pass these charges onto myself. Elizabeth was very helpful and managed to contact all involved to resolve the issues.

We had a very good experience with Northwood when renting a house in the UK after a long absence abroad. Things had changed considerably over this time, so we are thankful for them being patient with us, and for the quick onboarding process. Callum was efficient and ensured we could move in soon, even though our reference checks required more due diligence (understandable), but things moved quickly and we were able move in within a few days leaving a very expensive airbnb behind! There were a few lingering contractual issues, but we are glad the misunderstandings were resolved eventually. Elizabeth was also very supportive, highly courteous, knowledgeable and quickly helped us resolve any administrative issues. Had a viewing for a property in St Albans, the agent Lenka(Lettings negotiator) who was supposed to show us the property came late, I had to call agency to check where is she. She was completely clueless about the property, she was not even aware of the asking rent, if the the furniture was staying or going. After viewing I showed interest in putting the deposit, she told me that she has others viewings as well. I told her that I'll offer more than other offers she'll receive. She called next day and told me that the furniture is staying and they have an offer more than mine, but my income was more than theirs and that I'll probably get it. After the weekend she emailed me that the landlord has accepted other offer, she didn't gave me any reason, I asked her what the reason of rejection but she didn't gave any answers to which I believe I have been discriminated. Completely disappointing experience.

I had the best experience recently whilst trying to rent my own place in St Albans. I met one of the agents Lenka on my first viewing, and she was so knowledgable of the property and the area and had such a professional manner. But she was also very kind and friendly and I felt I could trust her straight away. I then went on to have some more viewings, but eventually had my last viewing with Lenka again at what is now my new home! It’s the absolute perfect fit for me and I’m so happy. It was quite a quick turnaround from my offer being accepted to my move in date, but Lenka handled everything like it was effortless and kept me completely in the loop. The day I moved in I was so happy as it’s the first time I’ve moved into a new rented home where there were no issues at all - nothing needed fixing, everything was clean, I had all the keys and information I needed. I feel so fortunate that I meet Elizabeth Smyth (Property Management Team), It was a chance meeting where Elizabeth would come into my place of work as a customer and we would strike up a conversation and i instantly liked her! We would have many a conversation and Elizabeth’s help and advice has been invaluable. From talking me through how to help a friend get on the property ladder if buying or renting, to helping me with advice on extending my lease on a mortgage etc. I knew instantly from our first meeting what a wonderful woman Elizabeth was and how she just genuinely wanted to help and give guidance. From this I gained a trust in Elizabeth and Northwood Estate agents that I then introduced her to my Aunt and Uncle who recently renovated a properly and where looking for this to be put on the market and rented within a short period due to recent diagnosis of health related issues. The kindness and compassion Elizabeth and her colleague Sam showed them in this very difficult time was unparalleled. They took everything into control and made it so simple for them and within 3-4 weeks the property was being rented! Giving my family the peace of mind that was needed that everything would be taken care of for the foreseeable.
