Connels helped sell my house and the staff was remarkable. In particular Remi Jackson of connels in leicester office, and her colleagues, who were professionals, friendly and approachable. They worked very well as a team in getting my property sold.Thank you all very much.

The worse estate agent

This estate agent do not know what they are doing on a day-to-day basis, issuing keys to your house where you are still living there and not informing you that the surveyor was calling around.Staff seem very uninterested in working for the interests of the customer , been rude , not using you given name, telling you that they have been working very hard ( which is what they are supposed to do ) also placing the phone down on you. Made 4 complaints on this service, still unknown what is happening about these complaints , as with the rest of the service it’s on hold ! Would never use them again and if people are wise they will not use them.

Rude call centre agent

I received a call from seemingly a call centre after initially speaking with a helpful chap in the Leamington office for a property i was interested in. I wasn't aware that my details would be shared for general sales calls, i only wanted to be notified for potential properties. The person who called me asked questions around my property, valuations, and mortgage options. On the latter point i said i was going to stay with my mortgage provider and port due to fees. She referenced reduced rates with other lenders, but i referenced we don't want to pay a £6,000 fee to our current lender. She then said "so don't you want to save money?" as though I'm some sort of idiot. I said that i doubt highly that a new lender could give me rates so preferential that the £6k would suddenly become irrelevant. Cheap sales tactics and frankly not the way to speak with potential customers.

Just wanted to say how great the Connell`s Mortgage Service Manager Ali was, he listened to what we wanted to achieve gave us the right level of advice with lots of options to consider and helped with the paperwork, nothing seemed too much trouble. 10/10.

Quick cash buyer found, slow legal process

It took 6 months for the sale of my flat to go through (Birmingham city centre).Pros - managed to secure buyer within two weeks of the property being out on the marketI used their specified conveyance solicitors, who were ok. The app was useful Cons - delays occurred due to from what I was told buyers’ conveyance solicitors response rateHad to do a lot of chasing to find out what was going on

Wolverhampton - Poor service and communication

Waste of time. Have previously used their letting business to support me to find a tenant back in 2010 - poor service and lack of contact.I have since decided to sell that same property and after a lovely initial conversation with the office in Wolverhampton, a valuation was promptly booked in - report sent and then that was it. Despite two messages left and three emails sent - they don’t have the courtesy to even reply to me. However I did receive an out of office which advised me that they would be back in the office in November 2021 (it is now May 2022).

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would! Trying to purchase a property in Devon advertised by them and foolishly with hindsight accepted help from their “mortgage broker Rob.” Rob by name and Rob by nature! £698 down and no mortgage so went through our bank! … still not sure if we can buy the house! Financial Ombudsman awaits….

Scammers, liars and frauds

Scammers, paid a deposit on a property of £1k. Graham Levy the sales scammer from Connels has done nothing to help us get our deposit back. Aylesbury branch. Bunch of liars. There's a reason they are the worst branch in the company. Do not use them. Absolute shower of lies from day one. Property developer is oakmont and the property is the development in Sloane House. My advise is walk away from this. Absolute scum!

Unprofessional

Unprofessional - As an experienced property investor with an ever expanding portfolio, I placed a very good offer on a property requiring modernisation. My offer could not be progressed and would not be passed to the seller until I had visited their in-house mortgage advisor as they apparently had preferential rates. This is company policy I was told, and they prefer to manage all aspects in-house, I was even told that all other bidders were undertaking this process so if I wanted to be considered I need to do the same - this is not in line with FCA guidance. Even though I explained that I wanted to use my trusted mortgage advisor that I have used for every purchase over the last 15 years, this was not good enough. Terrible service from someone is supposed to be the branch manager (Tyler Copp), never experienced this before and don't appreciate being intimidated and pressured to do something that legally I am not obliged to do. The worst bit is that the poor buyer who has trusted these agents will never be aware of the offers they have missed out on because of this behavior. Avoid and go see a local independent agent.

I would prefer to give negative score

I would prefer to give negative score, they even don’t deserve 0.Very unprofessional surveyor, stay away from these guys.Recently my bank arranged them for valuation as I was in process of remortgage. On the bank website itself, it about 51K more value than what they have valued. As per their valuation, its just increased 30-40 K since last two years that too in Chelmsford. Everyone knows in UK prices of property has increased average 8% per year and considering this fact, it fits with the valuation what bank thinks but surprisingly these surveyors don't think so. I can bet if I put the house in market, I will get more than what bank valuation think, forget about the valuation done by these guys. It should be no brainer for anyone, why they think valuation is less than 51k to what bank thinks in their HPI calculation.I don't think their surveyor do these kind of detail study and just come up with some random figure in my opinion. In this case since I am remortgaging they make sure they work in the interest of bank and do not do a fair valuation. They should explain to customer why do they think that this property value this much and once this starts one will come to know what kind of survey these guys do.If in future any bank arranges them its a big NO from me. Valuation should be as per market and fair and not in the interest of anyone.

Shocking service from start to finish

Shocking service from start to finish. We tried to sell a property with them that was vacant. When we inspected the property a week after they had a viewing they had left the back door open. On other occasions they had left the lights on. When we were unsuccessful selling with them we gave our notice at which point they should have removed it from Rightmove so we could re list it with another agent in six weeks so it looked like a new listing. However it turned out they had not removed it from Rightmove but were not taking viewings either. This is just to mention a few of their continual cock ups.

very expensive failure - please avoid

Incredibly aggressive tactics for buyers to force them to use their broker, with a very high fee. If you get past this (and we had to resort to threats of the ombudsman to do so to get our offer in) they are disorganised and terrible at communicating. Our purchase fell through and we lost the survey and conveyancing fees, they didn’t even have the decency to handle this properly. I wish I’d read these reviews, approach with caution if you can’t avoid them.

Shocking estate agents

Shocking estate agents! Nothing but constant issues, started with being lied to and convinced that we had to pay their lifetime mortgage fee, secondly was forced to go with their mortgage broker because apparently it would give us a stronger chance of getting the property we want, tried to force us to go with Shoosmiths (thank god we didn't, because they turned out to be absolutely shocking also for the person we was buying from)constant calls chasing things we needed, constantly failing to communicate things between us. They lied about the whole thing, what started as 2 in a chain, somehow turned out to be 4? even our solicitor was confused. Just shocking and unprofessional throughout. And to top it off, when we EVENTUALLY got the keys, we went in to collect them and was handed them over as if we was staying in a hotel room!!, no congratulations, no card, not even a simple little gift considering we just made on of the biggest purchases in our life. They are all about money! I know you cant control who you buy your house from, but please don't allow these incompetent people to sell your home.

Worst estate agents ever - greedy and fishy way of operate

Worst estate agents ever. Run fast if coming into contact. The agent we had ( Northampton branch) - Aidan Schofield - had the impretinence of telling us they will take our offer only of we use their mortgage services, which is illegal, but I did not know then. We used their mortgage services - we paid about £800 for “lifetime membership”, then - after having some problems with getting mortgage - they just did not pick up any phonecalls or emails - this is the “lifetime service” they provide. Another thing - while we were trying to reach the mortgagr advisor who was not picking up - the agent re-advertised the property without even informing us. We also paid for searches, which were not made as we haven’t received absolutely anything- and they did not repay it back. I think they must not have a licence to operateAVOID!!!

Avoid Leicester branch

House valuation on 11th August, 10 days later despite 2 txt msgs, a phone call to branch where I was promised a return phone call which never happened and an email still awaiting the valuation report!😡Involved head office and a v. helpful lady Grace who was disgusted with the branch’s lack of customer service hence 2 stars rather than 1 which the branch would get!

Would give less than 1 star if I could

Would give less than 1 star if I could, terrible estate agents. We were told by salesperson Gary Purssord that the offer process would be initial followed by best/final offer. We put our initial offer in with another salesperson (Adrian). A day later, salesperson Zoe Poole told us that our offer was not good enough and that the seller had accepted another offer. She then said that there was nothing more to be done and that we could not put in another offer, only to then go back on that and take our best and final, which was obviously a lie to get us off the phone. We were then phoned by another salesperson (2 minutes later) who advised that the seller had declined our best and final offer after it was put forward - although I don’t believe our best offer was put forward as there was 2 minutes between the calls and it would have been unfair on the other buyer who had already had their offer accepted. We also had trouble even trying to put an offer in, as we were badgered to use their mortgage advisor. This was even after we stated that we had our own mortgage advisor and that we did not want to use theirs.

Birmingham based office AVOID AT ANY COST

the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with.have had to approach a solicitor to get answers from them.they failed to comply with the agreement about getting the contract on time.they use teenagers as employees and that's one of the worst thing to deal with. they chase you by phone, email, even WhatsApp till they get the holding fee. then they just disappear and you turn chasing them for an answer.Dori, Shennay and other teenagers working in Birmingham's office have no clue how serious is for someone to get a place to stay.they won't give you an update. and whenever and IF you catch them on phone they say 'I was about to do it now'. this company is just a JOKE

Avoid

Used them as rental management for my rental property but their service degraded so much over time to point that if i can give zero star, I would. Non-responsive when you ask them for something and completely incompetent group of people working in this company. The home sales team is no better with a completely ridiculous property valuation given where the other property company can give a significantly higher valuation.
