From the day I spotted my perfect property, British Home Sellers has provided excellent service. From organising the viewing to completion. I was outbid on a property that I really wanted. A few weeks later Alex Clendon phoned me to say that the original purchasers had pulled out. I made another bid which was accepted. Alex was my point of contact throughout the purchasing process. He replies speedily to all enquiries, is very professional, cheerful and resolves all quiries without fuss. He kept me updated regulary at each stage of the process. He has contacted me since the purchase was completed to see if all is well. I cannot recommend Alex and British Home sellers highly enough. I would definitely use them again and would like to thank them for making the process run smoothly.

Completely disappointing

A real let down. Read all the rave reviews about how they would sell your property within 14 days. This is not the case.Almost all of the positive reviews are from buyers, not sellers. I had zero communication from the company once my property went live. I followed up after 2 weeks to ask if there had been any interest - I was told plenty of Rightmove clicks but no other interest. Two more weeks past, I had heard nothing again so I chased and was told the same as above. If I hadn’t had chased for updates each time I doubt I would have ever heard from them. All they do is list the property on Rightmove, yet charge much more than high street agents. There is no USP - no proactive marketing to investors or anything similar. You even have to do your own viewings and take your own photos. 30 days notice to terminate agreement is also higher than the average. Avoid!

A generally smooth sale and purchase

Despite the difficulties caused by lockdown earlier this year, British Home Sellers managed to maintain my chain and complete the sale of my property. I found the process of signing up, determining the sale price and producing the marketing material smooth. British Home Sellers arranged a number of viewings in my case, and fairly soon after the marketing began, so I personally never had an issue with a lack of viewings. Communication as to when a viewing would take place was never a problem and the team kept me informed of people's feedback. Following the offer that led to completion of the sale, the case was taken forward by Charles Gale. Charles was polite, tactful and crucially highly responsive to my questions, and this was following a period of ill health he unfortunately went through. He was also excellent at managing my buyers, the sellers of the property I was purchasing (which was also sold by British Home Sellers) and the conveyancers in between. The only criticism I have is that once we reached the offer stage and Charles took over, the office started to struggle responding to my questions, e.g. if Charles was absent. I suspect that this may be because Charles would need to have answered those types of questions anyway but it does mean that without your main contact point, you can be left waiting for a bit for answers at the most stressful stage of the process.

A breath of fresh air...

We viewed the house which was love at first sight! We called British Homesellers after the viewing and made our offer to Alex Clendon, he posed our offer to the vendors and within 45 minutes we received a call back stating our offer was accepted and that the property would be taken off the market. That is how quick and easy it was with British Homesellers! These guys are not like the majority of estate agents out there - we were fed up of offering our best offers to agents for them to keep coming back asking what is our best offer... that other offers have been received... or can I increase my offer etc etc! Alex was superb start to end, there was none of that from Alex and it's a shame that there aren't others more like him and British Homesellers in this sector. British Homesellers genuinely went above and beyond. We had issues with the conveyancing as our solicitors were not that great, but Charles went out of his way to communicate with my broker and solicitor to assist with the completion. There was constant communication from Alex and Charles whenever we emailed them, they were quick to respond by email and telephone and always kept me informed about the progress of the chain. Me and my wife felt that they genuinely cared about their clients and they proved that by the way they handled the whole process. Would recommend them 110%!

Sold my flat with British Homebuyers after receiving after a letter through the post. The selling timescale I was informed of 2-4 weeks was double that and yes the fee charged was much larger than other competitors ( in fact over double).But you go into this agreement knowing the large selling fee and with eyes " wide open."I have to say the service I received was first class. Being kept informed at every stage of the process by William Gale and latterly Robert Love of British Homebuyers. All in all a more expensive service.... yes, But I found they provided a great service, in a professional and informative mannner. Thank you British Homebuyers.
