I put my house up for sale with them after I was told they had serious investors and buyers waiting to buy properties, I believed that they would sell my home in super quick time but unfortunately 9 months later I haven't even had a viewing through British homesellers.
My asking price is way below 3 local estate agents valuations but British homesellers have been consistent in keep suggesting that I drop the price about 40k or take it off the market.
They have not matched me up with any of their so called investors waiting to buy a property.
I would have had more chances if I'd have stayed with local estate agents.
I also don't think it helps that there's no for sale sign outside the property as I live in a place where it's busy with tourists for much of the year, but no passers by know it's for sale. Very disappointing after a convincing sales pitch.
UPDATE
After receiving a response from British Homesellers, I should have stated that the length of time I was with them as opposed to how long it was up for sale was 9 months as there was a delay with the pictures they took.
I rejected the 1st lot of pictures as they were awful, and nice parts of the house were not photographed, but instead there were 3 pictures all the same of the back of my house which had nothing nice to show, on limited amounts of pictures I thought that was ridiculous.
I've received an email from Trustpilot today that they may try to remove my review if it's not genuine, it is.

We’re genuinely sorry that we weren’t able to secure a viewing or buyer for your property. We completely understand your disappointment and have tried calling because we would welcome the opportunity to apologise personally and learn from your experience. Although in the vast majority of cases we secure results quickly, often through buyers already connected with us, in this case we genuinely struggled.
For clarity, we marketed your property from 25 February until 11 September, approximately six and a half months rather than nine. Nevertheless, going that long without producing a viewing is not the result either you or we expected.
Throughout our updates, we explained that this appeared to be a wider market issue rather than one affecting your property alone. At our most recent review, only 6 of the 40 properties within a quarter of a mile were shown as sold subject to contract, meaning 85% remained unsold. Several of those six sales had also been agreed earlier in the year, and nothing had sold between £220,000 and £280,000. In this case, we were seeking to secure at least £265,000.
You consistently and understandably told us that anything below £265,000 would not be suitable, which we respected. Our advice was therefore not that you should accept a substantially worse price. Given the lack of buyers paying the required level, we encouraged you to pursue your alternative plan of converting the property into an HMO and to withdraw it until the market could support the price you needed.
We understand why you feel a local agent might have achieved more. However, with 85% of nearby properties remaining unsold and nothing selling within the relevant price range, this was unfortunately a difficult market affecting local agents and sellers generally. That context does not excuse our failure to produce a viewing, but it was why we were honest about the market and encouraged an alternative that protected you from accepting too little.
Regarding the for-sale board, we’re always happy to provide one when requested. We don’t install them as standard because we believe they tend to advertise the agent more than the individual property, with most buyers now searching online. When you raised this, however, we confirmed that one could be arranged.
We’re very sorry we couldn’t achieve the outcome both you and we wanted, and we wish you every success with your plans for the property.

You are quite right to clarify that there was also a longer-than-usual period before the property went live. Our original response looked at the period from the property being marketed until we mutually agreed to withdraw it.
We received your agency agreement on 30 December and initially arranged photography for 8 January. Before we could legally begin marketing, the required ID checks needed to be completed and a new EPC was required as the existing one had expired. On 28 January, you also let us know that you weren't happy with the initial photographs. We therefore arranged for these to be retaken, and the property went live on 25 February.
We apologise that the overall setup process took considerably longer than we would normally expect. We also completely understand you wanting to be happy with how your home was presented before it went live.
Regarding your Trustpilot update, we'd also like to reassure you that we have not asked Trustpilot to remove your review. The email you received relates to Trustpilot's reviewer-verification process, which is designed to confirm that reviews relate to genuine experiences.

British Homesellers weren’t actually my estate agents, they were acting for the people whose house I was buying, but I was genuinely really impressed with them throughout the whole process.
I’ll admit, initially I wasn’t sure what the experience would be like dealing with a nationwide company rather than a traditional local high-street estate agent, but any concerns I had quickly disappeared. They were always available, kept me up to date and seemed just as keen as I was to keep things moving. Whenever things stalled, they were proactive in chasing and trying to push the sale forward rather than simply leaving everyone waiting.
A special mention has to go to Fallon Martin, who put up with my many questions! She was always helpful, responsive and happy to explain what was happening, and I really appreciated having someone I could contact throughout the process.
Considering I wasn’t even their client, I thought the level of communication and service I received was excellent. Based on my experience as a buyer, I’d have absolutely no hesitation recommending British Homesellers.
