My experience with Beals Estate Agents has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They seem to specialize in exploiting students by unfairly withholding deposits under dubious charges. Throughout my tenancy, communication was poor, and they strictly prevented any direct contact with the landlords. One particular example of their unfair practices was during the winter when our boiler was broken for a month. Despite repeated requests for repairs, we were left without heating, yet we were still charged full rent for that period. When it was time to move out, they waited until the last possible legal day to inform us of hefty charges for cleaning and repairs, despite our efforts to leave the property in good condition. It feels like a significant portion of their income comes from these questionable charges, targeting students who may not have the resources to fight back. The entire process felt shady and unprofessional. I strongly advise anyone, especially students, to avoid Beals Estate Agents if you value transparency, fairness, and decent service.

We purchased a house through Beals and Lauren was our main point of contact - from the first viewing through to the completion, Lauren was excellent. She was great at communication, arranged several viewings for us and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. Lauren even went above and beyond at a viewing to help locate a water stopcock and wasn’t afraid of getting dirty! Rented a flat through Beals.I saw a 2 bedroom flat I wanted to rent after just coming out of a divorce, I went into Beals and spoke with Lucy Watt who I cannot recommend enough. Lucy went above and beyond to ensure the process was as stressless and smooth sailing as possible due to the current situation, I also felt she was quite empathetic and I could fully trust Lucy with helping me to secure a safe environment for myself and young child to live.

Realistic, Honest & get the job done

Carly was my first point of contact, She came round, Looked around briefly & listened. She was friendly, approachable, informative and helpful, most importantly not pushy just knowledgable and gave options for what we wanted to achieve. We were not ready initially and she again, listened and didn't over contact! When we decided to go with Beals, Carly came round and again, being very experienced, was not pushy but listened, questioned & gave options allowing us to make the decision we felt happy with. I then also dealt with Jade who dealt with the viewings - which came thick and fast! Communication was great and We had an offer after just 5 viewings in less than 1 week. We acheived a decent price and I couldn't be happier with the service so far. I would absolutely reccommend Beals to anyone!

Apartment sale via Southsea branch with Becca

Thanks to Becca at Southsea branch for all the help with our sale. What should have been a simple sale turned into a rather complex one due to the buyer's solicitor being a pain but Becca was continually available and went above and beyond to help cajole and push the buyer and their solicitor to get the sale over the line. It has been a long process, as we had two previous buyers pull out at the last moment as well, but we have finally got there! An honourable mention also goes to Stacey, who helped with the previous sales.

We purchased a house through Beals Estate agents, our journey started early November. We met Emily at the property, she was professional and offered really great tips, on the potential of the property etc. She was straight to the point on what the seller wanted, which put us in the best position. She rang the day after the viewing and we put our offer on the property!Emily was our go to, she was thorough and constantly requesting updates from us, the seller and the lawyers. The whole process will be done by early Jan, I want to say Emily being on the ball has really ensured for us to get through the interim period quicker than prev estate agents we have dealt with.Emily has been a pleasure to deal with, always has a smile, friendly and great communication!
