SHOCKING estate agents

SHOCKING estate agents. My partner and I were looking to rent a property in Kettering, signed all the documents and was in the process of doing the referencing, we received an email saying the referencing had failed, I simply asked why and they told me they couldn’t discuss it with me ( our own referencing?) myself and my partner contact the people we put down as references and not a single person had been contacted. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

I made an offer to buy a bungalow in Middlesbrough through Pattinson estate agent which was accepted only in a week afterwords I received voice a massage from Melanie Devine (hardly divine at all) gazumping on an accepted offer which I find unscrupulous. I now don't know what will happen to the deposit I paid for conveyancing solicitor. I expected Pattinson would have taken the rotten property off the market or warned me so I wouldn't pay deposit until both side are fully committed. I now regard Pattinson as joke and wast of time a warn everyone when dealing with this state agent In response to above Pattison asked me for detail:"Thank you for your prompt reply. Frankly, I didn't expect it, given the narcissistic verbal response I received when I called to inquire about why, after officially accepting my offer a week later, the property was still on the market. I had assumed that upon acceptance, the property would be removed from sale, especially since I had already incurred expenses in engaging conveyancing services. One would expect this to be in the customer's interest.Thankfully, I hadn't yet engaged a building surveyor or engineer, saving me from further expenses. However, there was not even an apology for the wasted time and the losses incurred due to what I can only describe as total incompetence.I have previously purchased two houses through Pattison estate agents and have been satisfied, but I must express my total dissatisfaction with the handling of this particular purchase.Your response seems to favor the seller unilaterally, whereas your role as an estate agent is to provide excellent service to both parties, rather than assuming a profit-driven stance that could lead to losses to either side of the transaction. It's perfectly reasonable to temporarily suspend acceptance of an offer until securing the best offer for the vendor or until the vendor commits to selling, at least in principle. As you understand, buyers often incur expenses for engaging conveyancers and surveyors. Perhaps adopting a legal approach akin to Scotland's property transactions, which outlaws gazumping, could help mitigate situations where your conduct may be perceived as lacking, irrespective of the costs borne by those who trusted your business integrity. Then afterwords being subjected to verbal arrogance from your staff, followed by what feels like a halfway justification in your own response, which is disheartening. I've used your services twice in the past when purchasing two houses, but I won't be doing so again, will share my experience with business colleague and family in absence adequate regulation to force acceptable business conduct .M. I have had a very good experience with Pattinson estate agent.

I have had a very good experience with Pattinson from start to finish, my request for a valuation was responded to promptly and conducted with care and considered advice provided. I had several valuations and Pattinson were by a long stretch the highest and whats better they found potential buyers who made offers in the first week and we accepted an offer 1 week later. I was given good advice around the position of the potential purchasers and how this would likely effect timeline to completion etc. All of the staff I dealt with a Pattinson where happy to help and had a great system for keeping on top of cases it seemed whoever I spoke to knew exactly where things were at. I know that Pattinsons kept pressure on the Solicitors on both side and provided regular feedback without prompting. I considered not listing names as I dont want to miss anyone as all experiences where great but Lisa who valued the property stood out as did Poppy who was very prompt and reliable when seeking updates on progress. Overall we are happy with the service and the pricing was very competitive.

Wendy Burbridge has done an amazing job selling my property. I have been dealing with this lady for 12 months and had a few glitches along the way with the buyers. Wendy has picked up the pieces. Had two viewings to see a property in which the women showing us around had no clue about the property and was unable to answer basic questions such as where the boiler is in the house or how old the house was; regardless went ahead and placed an offer through Alison in the jarrow branch which was accepted in which stated email confirmation would be sent which infact was never sent at all; called Allison from the jarrow branch up after confirming deposit funds and proof of solicitors and meetings for mortgage signing and she turned around and states that another offer has been accepted on the house ALTHOUGH this was multiple days after our offer was "accepted"Unorganised and somewhat unpleasant experience, very unprofessional and unfortunately I can only but wish the best for anyone dealing with the jarrow branch as my experience was dreadful due to the fact they think they could take the mick given I was a first time buyer and doubt my seriousness in purchasing a property through them

Lisa, a star agent with Psttinsons.

Lisa was our agent at Pattinson. Always available and super helpful. She found us a property and negotiated through a difficult situation. Ultimately we withdrew from the sale having had a completion date changed 4 times by the vendor. We moved from Spain on the strength of the original date. This left us homeless with 5 dogs and furniture in store. Although Lisa was losing a sale she found us a rental with our dogs. This is service beyond reproach. Thank you Lisa for your totally unselfish service. ****XXX I have just noticed a negative review from the vendors partner. Full of untruths and total misconceptions. Despicable to blame the agent for they and their builders fault, which left us homeless and out of pocket by thousands of pounds

Very professional man turned up to value the house and everything was dealt with quickly. When the house was on the market there were several occasions when accompanied viewings were booked and no one turned up including the representative from the estate agent without letting me know. This was very awkward as my niece was renting the property and was rushing in from work and preparing for viewings that didn’t happen. Poor communication. This whole sale experience was a nightmare once we accepted an offer from a property investor. We were told he had a mortgage in principal and was ready to go. We completed all the paperwork from RAW Clark solicitors and returned it the same day. 10 weeks later I contacted the solicitor to find out why it hadn’t heard anything yet. She was very rude saying “ can’t make him buy your house” . Clearly my call prompted her to find your what was going on only to discover that the buyer wasn’t using the solicitor that my solicitor thought they were. I was then asked to deal with the case via Wendy Burbridge from Pattinsons. After a tricky start, Wendy was great chasing things up and trying to move the sale forward. The buyer however was telling her one thing and me another to prolong the sale I felt. In the meantime we were accruing a huge amount of charges in bills and lost rent totalling £2500. Even though Wendy was trying her best, the solicitor was less than effective. I was having to send a lot of emails to chase things up as well as Wendy. At one point I contacted to buyer to find out what the delay was and he told me he was waiting for searches to come back. As I thought this highly unlikely I contacted the land charges department myself to chase them up. She informed me that the searches had only been requested in early October - yet we had started the sale and completed and returned our forms on 18th May. This was very frustrating as at no point had the solicitor chased up the sale. Thankfully Wendy and I were both on the case. Eventually- as we had expected would happen -the buyer asked to lower the price of the house by £5500 so that we could complete. As Wendy was on holiday at the time someone else negotiated a price of £92000. Wendy was monitoring emails whilst on holiday and keeping in touch with me. As soon as Wendy returned to work things began to move at a faster pace and we completed in December. Into the new year and although we had received the money for the house we had not had a completion statement from the solicitor so I contacted Wendy. She immediately contacted the solicitor and got it sorted for us. At every stage, Wendy copied me into emails she was sending on our behalf to keep us in the loop which was great.I really can’t fault Wendy- she was professional and helpful throughout going above and beyond at times to make sure we got everything completed. Unfortunately we can’t say the same for our solicitors and did recommend to your office that you use someone else as they provide a less than professional service falling short of the code of practice for solicitors in many areas. They really don’t give your company a good service. Thanks Wendy- your were a trooper in what was a very stressful experience.

The sale was stagnating and I truly believe it still wouldn’t have completed hadn’t it been for the work Wendy did. She drives the sale forward and is always available to answer any queries you have. If I knew Wendy was involved in my sale I wouldn’t hesitate to use Pattinsons in the future, she is a credit to the company.

Awful company, do not use, my property in auction for 2 months with no bids reduced on their advice they knew I was on a tight schedule to sell, last minute before auction ending a bid comes in but they didn't know how to get hold of the bidders, it was Pattinsons who put the bid in, I did not want to continue any further with them so they are now charging me £12,000 for NOT selling my property.Absolute thieving crooks.

There is nobody more dedicated, invested or hard working than the girls at Pattinsons Washington, if you’re debating which estate agent to use to sell your property let this be your sign, they’re amazing and I can’t praise them enough.
