Very disappointed with this company, having sold a few houses over the years, I have always had a regular communication with my estate agents, with Pycott and Crone, this was not the case! After we sold our property we spoke with them on the phone and have had no further contact from them since, no updates or anything on the sale of our property.. After exchange with our sale, u had a call from them which is the first call in 10 weeks, I raised my opinions on how unimpressed I was with their service, and was told they didn’t get involved once sold.. utter rubbish as no other estate agents work in this way !!! But the day after exchange they were very quick to email us their bill on our sale .. I will never use this company again very very disappointed by their service

Avoid

The communication from this agency is absolutely shocking. Expect to wait at least 24, 48 hours for a reply to even the simplest of queries, which makes the whole process unnecessarily stressful. On top of this, I was told I would have to keep broken furniture in the property, which says a lot about how little care they put into the homes they manage. Overall, very poor experience, slow communication, rude service, no empathy, and no willingness to support applicants. I would strongly recommend avoiding them

Very efficient friendly helpful service by all members of staff especially Tracey and Adam who we have had main dealings with. It made a very stressful time more reassuring.

Although not our agency, Tracy and I, along with my agent Conor, worked together over a sustained period to try and minimise the chaos, try and fine out exactly what was reality and what was untruths being used, managing the incompetency of one of the lawyers practices, some lower agents and some very naive or simply stupid clients further down the chain. They say moving is the most stressful thing to manage- this was absolutely true in this case however Tracy’s tenacious approach and laughter helped make it a little easier, also managing her client in a very professional way to ensure the circle our end was as closed as it could be. The sold sign disappeared the day after as well, a sign of good management I’d say. Well done Tracy and Pygott team.πŸ‘

Although there has been some mis-communication at the outset, Pygott and Crone promptly acted upon the issue and for the rest of the journey it had been plain and pleasurable sailing. Their work ethos is impeccable as they are protecting the vendor whilst helping the buyer which is not always easily achieved. Their interpersonal skills are flawless. A special thank to Tracy.

Very happy customer

Cannot recommend this company enough. They sold our property within 10 days of it being on the market, fantastic promotions and incredible photographs. From the start of the journey meeting Aiden who took a real interest in our journey and respected the fact that we were selling our long time home, through to liaising with Fiona and Lauren who are full of information and most of all support. Jonathan guided us through some stressful moments But he was always very reassuring and very supportive. The thought of selling our home was a nervous one, but if we had to do it again in the future, I would not hesitate to use this company again. Thank you so much to all of those involved.

The worst experience ever

The worst experience ever. Went for viewing, after viewing went home to apply for property and its shows let agreed, literally 2hours after viewing. Applied for other property no answers on emails, when call agent who dealing with applications was on holiday. At the end calling them someone else got property without letting me know that property is gone. Applied for 1 more property, had to wait for some time. Call them , again agent on holiday, wait some more, no calls, no email , managed to reach them to find out property is gone again. Wasted almost a month waiting.

Tenant - Horrible Experience

As a tenant, I would not recommend Pygott & Crone to ANYONE that is looking to rent a property. Pygott & Crone, specifically Gabrielle who works for their rental team, represent atrocious landlords that treat their tenants as if they are a cash cow. I am a single occupant, under 30 years old, and I have lived in 5 different rental properties, this is the first one in my life that has claimed my security deposit; for something as silly as a missing light bulb. I have stayed at the property for over 4 years, which when I moved in, still required work. The carpets were not cleaned, parts of the stairwell needed repainting after damage was caused by the previous tenant, there were no curtains on the windows (which I left behind after my tenancy) and the boiler was already on it's way out, but never replaced in the 4 years I stayed there, despite the fact I needed to let pressure into it practically every other day to maintain working order. Pygott & Crone's post-tenancy report stated, and I quote, "Based on the duration of the tenancy, it would be unreasonable to make deductions to the tenant's deposit." and yet they allowed the landlord to do so for 3 light bulbs, an oven tray (which was cleaned before I left by a professional cleaner), gardening fees (despite having been moved out for 4 weeks in the height of summer), and costs for removal of an LED light strip that I left behind in the office simply because I thought the new tenant might appreciate them. I was charged a total of Β£240 from my security deposit for cutting back a hedge, taking down an LED strip and repainting a single wall; despite the tenancy being over 4 years long. Pygott & Crone emphasizes an already terrible power imbalance between landlord and tenants, then claims they are impartial when they have the potential to protect young tenants that are already struggling in the current housing market; and as such I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. As guilty as the landlords they support. Stay clear and do not use them.

Photo shopped

I viewed a house via Pygott and Crone that looked good on the brochure, but looked terrible in reality. I know estate agents enhance photos but to photo shop them is not right. The front bedroom window looked good on the photo, just a little too white on the left hand side. It was actually rotten. The shower cubicle also looked good, but that too was full of mold.

Poor Service

Contacted Pygot Crone Holbeach to arrange a viewing of a property we were interested in. Told someone would call back. No call back. Called again and again told someone needs to call back. Again no call back. Called again and was told the property was not on the market the owners were ill and taken off the market. Checked a week later and still on their website and on Rightmove. Called and was told the property was sold. A few days later when my partner called was told the owners were poorly and had been taken off the market for a few months. Also sent 2 emails enquiring about this and another property no response. Terrible service and appear to tell lies or make things up. Shame as we are cash buyers I wonder if the vendors of properties with them realise why they aren't selling

Thank you for the excellent service pre and post sale

Purchase needed a swift turn around- viewed property and had an offer negotiated with vendor to include a chain break within 4-6 weeks. Progress kept on track and were ready to exchange in week 4. Agreed to buy on 29th April and moving 13th June. Thank you for the excellent service pre and post sale.

It was an absolute joy working with Pygott & Crone

It was an absolute joy working with the Pygott & Crone Estate Agents. The staff I worked with are extremely polite , everybody was really professional & they were always happy to help me with any questions I had when it came to getting my 1st property. I recommend anybody who is buying a home etc to work with this firm because they are really good. This isn't my last time working with them here , I will be back for more in the future. Thank you for everything much appreciated Best Regards - Mr M. Linton

We purchased our new home from this agent and the professionalism And service received was excellent. Tracy was our main point of contact and she was brilliant in updating us daily as the chain progressed. They recommended Howells solicitors and wow we are thankful for that, very competitive and amazing service. Thank you for making the purchase of our new home that bit less stressful.

AVOID !!IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOUR HOME !

If you want your house sold, receive regular updates, receive key facts from the outset, have an agent that promotes your home by attending views, then DO NOT USE THESE ESTSTE AGENTS. 1. Promised regular updates however, we only received updates when we chased them. 2. Key facts not given at outset i,e you pay for photos but only in the small print do you find out you cannot use the photos if you change agents. 3. apparently we have nearly 60 potential buyers matched We had 3 views, so what happened to the rest? ratio shows lack of promotion or is this figure pure speculation? 4. On the market since November 24 not guidance on how to improve chances of sale etc . 5 total lack of confidence in them I will be taking this matter further but AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !

We bought a property from Pygott and Crone. Our sale fell through with a different estate agent. We spoke to Pygott and Crone- they helped us along the way and we managed to find a solution with our mortgage advisor and still buy the property we wanted. Great service- easy to get hold of. No pressure at all. Highly recommend.

Come on guys , get your basic tenancy act together

It’s with great distress I write this review 3 members of my family rent a house at a cost of Β£1,250.00 per month , plus bills. They have lived there 1 year. They pay the most rent in the street even though all the house are pretty much a mirror image. It’s in Rainworth Okay so that’s not worth 1 star. What is worth a one star is the fact that my family were sleeping in a brand new build , never lived in until (until 1 year ago) and over the weekend the boiler was de-commissioned by British Gas as a danger to life. They were minutes away from either being gassed or blown up. Ironically the house had an annual inspection a few days before and it was deemed as ok. British Gas tell a whole different story. Weekend’s Friday Pm to Monday AM Nobody at the agency was available after hours. No emergency number was provided by them Closed over the weekend means just that That’s no hot water. No heating No cooking Plus THEY have to pay the bill as they were desperate to get the gas back on and called an emergency plumber. The call out alone was Β£400.00. To them it was worth it. They all have full time Customers Service Jobs. Which requires a shower minimum. ! If 3 young Adults in your family were living in a brand new build house with a faulty gas boiler that was marked as safe and you lost them due to this companies negligence, I wonder where they’d be and if they’d even have a consciousness ! I won’t recommend them to anyone ever and I definitely will try and move my family because who knows what the rest of the houses , built the same in the street are like. An apology to the 3 Tenants in the Property could just be a way of gaining some redemption. The main Gentleman dedicated to this type of issue at the Company hasn’t even called them yet of course we can’t mention his name because as we know you can remove negative reviews regardless of there being any truth Appalling On behalf of T Polak. Back to the bad old days

Spalding branch. We were told on introduction that commission was 1.5%, there was a Β£150 fee for photos and energy plan, and P&C also 'reserved to right' to charge Β£150 admin fee if we withdrew the property from them. He told us he'd recently 2 or 3 couples interested in a property like ours. Commission was slightly higher than local competition, but we gullibly presumed this was spent on extra marketing. After seeing only 2 couples in 3 months (1 of whom made it clear from the outset they had no interest in our house) and despite dropping the price by over 8%, we decided to sell elsewhere. We were told we had to pay the admin fee and also the Β£150 'arrangement fee' for the photos (we could not keep or use them).Having sold a property elsewhere recently, I really thought estate agents had changed. Well, Pygott & Crone haven't!If you are thinking of selling or letting/renting I'd strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Disgusting and incompetent behaviour

If I could have put no stars or minus I would. I offered on a property full asking price but the agent wanted it Subject to viewing. Sent my aip across holly in boston confirmed vendor happy with the offer just need to view on return from holiday today at 4.30. Gets a call and email from a joe saying vendor accepted offer over weekend and therefore viewing cancelled. Also tries to tell me cant offer without viewing which being a senior conveyancer for 27 years i know is totally wrong. Many people offer not viewing and I had seen it outside offered straight away just unfortunate that flew out. Have email stating offer accepted by vendor to come back to this just an absolute joke. Funny tho as was messed about on a bungalow in quadring years ago tenanted but we were not advised also subsidence it was a joke and the vendors Conveyancers couldn't deal with the issues again misrepresented. This will certainly be taken further. Absolutely rubbish service and to not even know what another advisor in office had done is just totally and utterly incompetent . Trying to make out it's my fault for going on holiday but I would have given full asking price without the viewing, obviously not even advised to the vendor. Emails from Holly very clear as are Joe's so let's see the poop hit the fan now!!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! We was due to view a property on Friday 05/07/2024 and this was confirmed via email on 29 July 2024. the property (land) was due to go to auction in 2 weeks. With viewing ready for Friday we have been emailed today saying that the property has been sold. The worst thing about this is that the person who is selling the land isn't aware that we was viewing on Friday therefore has accepted an offer, my questions to Pygott and Crone how has this fallen through your system? you have undervalued the land as we would of offered more than what you have sold it for! Its amazing also how the secure deposit has been paid same day! I await your phone call from the director!
