Wow, where do I start?! I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to the lettings agent Mollie, who has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. She is a kind, confident & friendly girl who is there to help you whenever you need it. I cannot thank her enough for all the hard work, time and effort she has put into helping us rent out our studio/garage conversion. She found us somebody in less than 2 days, all paper work etc all completed in one day! She’s so on the ball and organized its insane. I am so pleased, I will miss her bubbly personality! I bought a house through the auction process with Allen and Harris in Stoke Gifford acting as the estate agent and they were really helpful, offering extra viewings both before and after bidding and also before we exchanged. Sam and Amy were great with their comms - instant replies and did what they could to contact the previous owner who lived overseas. And James the lettings manager was so helpful with answering my questions. Thank you!

Read the Contract!

I employed this company to sell a house. After 6 months and no sensible offers, I terminated their contract. A few months later, I sold the house through another agent, who were brilliant. However it turned out that the eventual buyers had seen the house originally several months before through Allen and Harris. The next thing I knew was their high powered solicitors demanding full payment of their selling fees, which according to their contract I have to pay indefinitely after they have sown anyone the house. This is criminal and they should be ashamed of themselves putting a clause like that in a legal contract. So beware, read all the small print. Don't use Allen and Harris as they are absolutely useless.

I recently asked for a Home Report to be e mailed, someone st their office decided to phone to arrange a viewing, they couldn’t get through because they dialed the wrong number. I explained I wanted to see the Home Report before arranging a viewing and adked, for the second time, van I have the Home Report, again this didn’t arrive, I gave it another go and still nothing happened.

Allen and Harris, WhitchurchJust put my parents house on the market with Allen and Harris and not impressed with communication at all. An Open House was arranged but on the day of the Open house no communication with either myself or my brother)who lives in the house) so I was a bit concerned. I rang the office and was told one of their colleagues should have got in touch with me to say it had been pushed back two weeks. I had not received a phone call or message of any kind. I was then told it was rearranged for two weeks later, again no communication and nothing materialised.Early days but already thinking of finding someone else to sell the house.

60% 1-star reviews at the time of writing, this should be the only red flag you need. Firstly, they mis-sold the tenancy, and assured certain facts that were conditional on my signing were true, that turned out not to be true. There is no way I would have signed the tenancy if they had not been misleading. When confronted, they made demands from me which were unreasonable, including ‘not to open the window’ of which there is only one in the apartment. Corey is especially corrupt, and the biggest scammer, stay clear as he will gaslight anyone and back track/say whatever he feels like to cover himself. Stay clear. Remember, 60% 1-star reviews. That is the majority of all reviews. Please don’t waste your time.

Poor communication

We previously used Allen and Harris to market our property and had a terrible experience. Today, we arranged to view a property marketed by them. I had reminder text messages confirming the viewing and when I arrived the owner said he accepted an offer 4 days ago and he was told Allen and Harris would inform anyone who had arranged to view - which they did not. Total waste of time and confirms my views.

Overall it wasn’t a good service. The agents are polite and friendly however the are uninformed, unorganised, slow and poorly trained. We constantly had to chase answers to questions, that ultimately were the wrong answers anyway. Measurements were totally wrong and could have cost us greatly if we bought furniture to fit. No arrangements with the landlords for keys, an inventory or smoke alarms. Finally, there was a feeling of deceiving behaviour to begin with, our offer was rejected for a higher one aparently but then a day later accepted because as the other party pulled out. Didnt feel geniune from the conversations and all in all i would not reccommend this company. UPDATE: If things couldnt have gone worse, They have now put us forward to switch energy companies to one they have a contract with which we did not concent too, the set up and process is underway and our current energy provider have is closing our account. Complete miss use of data!

As a landlord, I have used Allan & Harris for years with great satisfaction (or I wouldn't go back). Recently I had the pleasure of working with Bethan at the Stoke Gifford team, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From start to finish, she was an absolute star. Her enthusiastic and happy demeanor instantly put me at ease, and her patience throughout the entire process was truly appreciated especially as my circumstances became tricky! No question was ever too small, and Bethan always went the extra mile to ensure that everything was clear and moving forward smoothly. What stood out most was her genuine helpfulness. Whether it was offering insightful advice, coordinating viewings, or simply being available to assist with my long list of DIY queries, Bethan consistently exceeded expectations. We used Allan and Harris’ mortgage advisor service. The lovely Alanna Docherty helped us with honestly everything for buying our new house. She was amazing we could not fault her. She really went above and beyond and as for many people, all the things that come with buying the house can be very confusing but Alana explained everything so well and just made the whole process stress free to be honest. She always answered any messages or query’s quick and was always so friendly and polite. Her knowledge is great as well. We are so happy with the service provided and cannot recommend Alana enough. If you are looking for a mortgage advisor she is the one, we will be using her again for future housing things. Thanks so so much again Alana 😊
