We had Rebecca round for a valuation at our property recently and wanted to comment on her brilliant professionalism and how she made us feel throughout. We were nervous as some areas of the house were a little cluttered with storage but she put all of our worries (and embarrassment) at ease and was absolutely lovely and a real joy. Out of all the valuers we had round she was definitely our favourite!

GoogleOutrageous experience with Purplebricks - rude phone call.
1. Their "no sale no fee" service requires you to use their conveyancing, where it says "transparent pricing", but the conveyancing price is not stated. That is not very transparent...
2. I asked their live chat for the price and received no reply.
3. I then called to ask. The man who answered sounded defensive and rather rude from the start. He also did not know the price.!
4. He had me on "loudspeaker" so I could barely hear him. This is a simple issue to fix, but when I mentioned it he refused to check and just said defensively “No one else has mentioned it. There is nothing wrong with my headset” while continuing to speak from a distance.
5. When I asked for the price and mentioned the “transparent pricing” on the website, he became defensive instead of simply apologising or clarifying.
6. I asked where Purplebricks is based and he responded “I don't need to tell you where we're based.”
7. When I again asked for the price he said he did not know. I politely said that was not very transparent and that I would probably go elsewhere. His response was “this call is being recorded.” in an angry way as if I had done something wrong.
8. I called back to raise a complaint. A Scottish lady answered and was extremely apologetic. Unfortunately she said they have no way to identify who he was, so my complaint could not be lodged about him. She also said Purplebricks staff work from home across the UK rather than from a central office.
9. Because of that first interaction, I decided not to proceed. It is a shame because I was considering selling several properties in London, but the experience has put me off using them.
10. Overall the second person I spoke to was excellent, but the initial experience and lack of clear pricing meant I chose to go elsewhere.
NB:- He had a Manchester accent, but I gather their phone service hires people all over the UK so who you get is a matter of luck. Quite shocking overall.

GoogleHands down the worst estate agent currently operating. Purplebricks have turned what should have been an exciting move into an utterly stressful, chaotic and infuriating experience.
They do not stick to their word, do not call you back, and seem completely incapable of doing even the basics of their job, including responding when you are actively trying to accept an offer. Chasing them feels like a full-time job, except you don’t get paid and they do.
The service is slow, lazy, disorganised and rude, with every failure brushed off using a new excuse. Accountability is non-existent. Communication is appalling. You are left wondering what exactly you’re paying for, because it certainly isn’t professionalism or support.
To make matters worse, they push “recommended” solicitors who are just as painfully slow, all while quietly pocketing £575 in referral fees if you use them. A lovely little bonus for Purplebricks, and a nightmare for anyone actually trying to move house.
If you value your time, your sanity, or your sale, avoid Purplebricks at all costs. There are plenty of estate agents out there, this is not one of the ones you should trust with one of the biggest decisions of your life.

GooglePROS
Very cost effective. Offers the option to be in direct contact with buyers to accept viewings and negotiate offers. Especially being able to do viewings yourself is great as you will know your property better than any estate agent.
CONS
If you're showing people around yourself, be aware that buyers are often more comfortable sharing honest feedback with a 3rd party ie an estate agent. Also the average person doesn't sell properties that often and if you DIY it you won't benefit from any of the experience an estate agent has, which makes you vulnerable to a variety of pitfalls. In a buoyant market advertising on Rightmove is surely enough, but in a difficult market you can really benefit from the extra legwork a good estate agent can put in trying to generate more viewings for your property with their emailing lists and trying to "upsell" buyers on extra viewings. There is also the issue that Purplebricks really do have long telephone queues at times, 15-20 minutes.
WOULD I USE PURPLEBRICKS AGAIN?
Yes, but only in a sellers market and because I now have experience selling a property and I've learned a lot. I wouldn't recommend choosing the DIY option if you're a first time seller, especially not in a buyers market.
