Not a good experience.

Tried selling my mother's house with them when she went into a care home. All I can say is .... beware the "Compliance Team". They made the whole experience so difficult we basically told them to go away, and we put the house with another agent. He made the process so easy and we had a satisfactory offer for the property within a week. I would never recommend Purplebricks to anyone.

Confident and safe

I was shown round the flat confidently. He was friendly and I felt safe being on my own with him.

I have read horror stories and reviews about this agency and most of them around the country have one star reviews... However, I wanted to give them a chance as they advertised a property we liked. I called and immediately I hear that they cannot book viewings over the phone (as the vast majority of other agencies). Fine, I register on their website, I check the dates and times available and I book a viewing. The following day the viewing gets rescheduled to another day where I was not available. I go back to the website, I find another available day and time and I book the viewing for the second time. The following day I received an email that the viewing was cancelled and the agent said "Please see the times available" ... If the agency is the one to give dates and time on their website for a customer to select, why would they allow booking for times where there is no avaiability?! I would prefer not getting the house we like than dealing with them if this is already the start.

18 days after leaving the property and 10+ phone calls later I've still not managed to speak to the "property manager" about getting back the deposit. "They will call you back" "they are in a meeting" "they are in training" "they are off Ill" "they are on annual leave" had LITERALLY ALL OF THOSE!!!! Quite a busy F!*K!NG week for them fitting all those holidays, training sessions, illnesses and meeting in the space of 2 weeks!!! We have been completely ignored since the checkout and have ZERO refund of deposit or sign of when we will get it or if they're will be any deductions! Literally NO communication for over 2 weeks!!! So now I will have to start legal proceedings to even get them to respond. What a joke of a company. Trying to get the extra interest on my over £1000 they are holding ransom.

Purple distress

I sold a property as the executor in July 2021. It was later February 2022 when it completed, there was no chain, the buyer's funds were in place, and it was vacant possession. The delay was caused entirely by the unprofessional and incompetence of Premier Property Lawyers, Purple Brick's solicitors who were spectacularly dreadful even before they were 'victims' of a cyber attack and shut down completely. During this time I did not hear a word from Purple Bricks, not even a curtesy call to apologies for the delays. This has cost me dearly in council tax, gas and electricity. Others have lost buyers and homes. You can use your own solicitor but you then have to pay the Purple ones up front which is not always possible. Also, watch the fees. This is my fault entirely, but what seemed cheap has finished up, with add ones, costing me 1.8% of the sale value, certainly no bargain. I should have been more careful. Take care yourselves and avoid these people. They don't care.

JENNY COLLINGS - SUPERB AGENT

Fantastic service from jenny Collings at Purple Bricks. This is the 2nd time we have used Purple Bricks, and although our property was not in her catchment area, I specifically asked for Jenny to be our agent. She made us feel at ease from the start of the process and goes out her way to be of assistance. Her knowledge of the local property market are second to none and we felt fully confident in leaving our home with Jenny to market. She did a brilliant job and our house sold again in record time. She was always extremely responsive to any emails or messages left even out of office hours. If any of her bosses read this - SHE DESERVES A PAY RISE. Thanks a million Jen - wont hesitate to appoint her again for our agent. Lyn & Mike Long

Absolutely diabolical

The worst experience of my whole life. the supposedly Post Sales Support Team are no helpThe law firm they recommended just as bad. I was provided with a conveyancer who would not answer the phone or emails. Most calls were just cut off after a period of waiting and went nowhere. The conveyancer mysteriously disappeared and there was three more conveyancers after that. The chain collapsed and my seller had to find another house. So far it has been 8.75 months and will have to wait until my seller 's transaction is complete. In the meantime my buyer is threatening to pull out.I cannot recommend DCLaw or Purple Bricks for all of the above reasons.

Dreadful, Inept and totally lacking in CUSTOMER CARE - DO NOT USE!

Absolutely appalling!!! received an offer in May 2021 still not completed end of January 2022, 9 MONTHS WAIT. NO SUPPORT PROVIDE VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTACT. PUT TELEPHONE DOWN ON ME A NUMBER OF TIMES. Took my money and will not give back as offer was made?Purple Bricks provided two Solicitors for me, the First didn't contact me for two months - because they were TOO BUSY!, the Second, Premier Property Lawyers, lost our documents, computer systems went down for 3 months and so could not Do Anything!, and took seven months to get to where we are now. Withdraw Property and am going to rent as I do not trust these CHARLETONS!!!

Would ONLY use Purple Bricks!!

We have used PB 6 times in all. NEVER had a bad experience so really wanted to write a review as all these bad ones made my blood boil. We have lived all over the UK and used PB to sell all our properties over the years, I find having total control 24 hours a day a godsend as high street agents and solicitors take much longer - no waiting for them to open or respond etc. We have had to pull out of 2 properties in the past as the high street solicitors and estate agents have taken too long to even get a memo of sale out! with PB it is instant as all the work is done upfront before you even place the house on the market! The whole idea is for buyers and sellers to use the online platform so no waiting for unanswered calls. When you book a viewing through PB you get a confirmation text and email with contact details of who is showing you around - PB always supply you with the mobile number of the local representative. All their conveyancing teams have been superb!!

Total Waste of Space

Anyone thinking of using Purple Bricks to sell your property be very careful. This shower took on the sale of a property for me 4.5 months ago and at 8pm on a Sunday night inform me that the sale is not going ahead. Their salespeople try to get you to sell to property investors on their books at reduced prices. They advise you to use solicitors on their books that are beyond useless and through their incompetence you lose the the sale because your vendor is fed up of the speeds they work at. They are useless and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Undesirable experience

Viewed a house with Purple Bricks Estate agent who was showing us round an empty house ,they were 20mins late for the viewing ,when we tried to get hold of anyone to see if the estate agents was going to turn up to show us round you could not get hold of them. On viewing of the House it was way over priced as it needed gutted it was worse than it was in the photos they had taken and when we said this to the the estate agents she just said that's the price we explained the same houses for sale which didn't need gutted where 30,000 cheaper. We also ask the council Tax band for the house which she didn't know?? Do your back round checks Purple Bricks before doing viewings. I would not sell my property with Purples Bricks, as a viewer I found the service undesirable as well as the valuations well over priced. I would rather spend more and use a local Estate Agents who are easy to get hold of and know the area and actual selling prices.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Don't believe the hype. The whole process as you sign up is designed to protect PurpleBricks from you, their own customer. I complained on the grounds that the services were not provided as described and certainly not professional. Sadly, once you sign up, by the time you realise you are getting a subpar service, you are long contractually stuck with them. I lost thousands and am seeking redress but please beware that should things go awry, PurpleBricks has you backed into a corner from which you have no way out other than the judiciary route. Also, don't believe they are cheapest. I eventually switched to a proper estate agent, brick and mortar, and sold my house within weeks. The difference in professional services was night and day. But the most important here? Estate agent will match or beat PurpleBricks quotes, so don't risk it, it's not worth the pain, financial and emotional, and don't believe they are cheapest because this is not true.

Waste of money go local

Purple Bricks waste of money. No floorplan , had to wait weeks for energy survey. They do not vett anyone who visits your home they let anyone come for a day out. They overprice your property. Pictures are very poor. Go directly to your local estate agents have them all around and pick the one you are most comfortable with. Sold my home with local estate agents in two weeks after purple bricks had it on the market for 9 months!

We had a water leak through our kitchen light fitting and contacted Purplebricks 5+ times over a week and still they did not respond. They didn't tell us about tenant viewings in advance and also didn't notify us when the viewings were cancelled. We were blamed by the landlord for shoddy work carried out by a contractor hired by PB and PB didn't back up our case at all.

Communication and "experts"

Our landlord is selling our property and found out 4 weeks before I myself had to contact purple bricks to ask them what was going on, they have nothing but unhelpful, rude and to be Frank shouldnt be involved in dealing with peoples lives effectively what they are doing, never had any issues up untill moving out which is out of our control, shocking customers service!! I would never rent a property let alone buy a property from them.
