What a horrendous company. I have rented houses for 22 years from various letting agents and have had no problems until our experience with Winkworth. After a year living in the property it became clear there was a damp and mould problem. With young children living in the house this was a nightmare but assumed this would be taken care of by the property owner. It wasn't. First the letting agent tried to claim it was caused by condensation, then installed window vents that had very little effect. They painted over damp patches only for it to return, when reported they kept saying it was condensation, it kept getting worse. When after months of trying to resolve the problem and my 6 year old son having regular respiratory problems, nothing had been done we sent more pictures of the damp and mould. We were told by Winkworth to wash our curtains!! Unsurprisingly, this didn't solve the damp and mould problem. After around 3 years of living in damp and mouldy conditions with young children, they agreed action needed to be taken, so installed a big extraction unit in the loft. Unfortunately by this time my sofa that was brand new was completely covered in mould so had to be replaced. Every time we had something that needed repairing it took numerous emails and phone calls to get anyone out to it and sometimes they literally just ignored the problem. I have now left the property and would never in my life even consider a Winkworth managed property after the absolute nightmare they caused us. Please stay away from them unless you don't want repairs doing and like to be ignored and mistreated. Photos are from when the damp problem was ok according to Winkworth. This response speaks volumes about the company....I think chipping all the rendering off the side of the house rather than fixing it may have made the problem worse...just a theory, most people would repair it not make it worse.

I would highly recommend Winkworth! From the first phone call I made, Matt was professional and knowledgeable. I phoned up originally to view a different property, but based on the information I provided, he arranged a viewing for the property I queried about as well as the property we ended up purchasing, which had just come on the market and wasn't on right move yet. The minute I walked into the property, I knew it was home and when I took my partner back that day, he agreed. The service we have received from Matt has been 5*. He has always called back quickly or kept us up to date when our solicitors were not communicating and even offered to personally collect our contract report to drop to us to sign when our solicitor was dragging their feet. No issue was too big or small and it has been a far cry from the service provided to us by agents in the past. He absolutely made this experience a lot less stressful than it could have been. My partner and I have already agreed that if we were to sell, we would use Winkworth due to the service that we have received with our purchase.

After deciding to relocate 150 miles or so to Lincolnshire our first contact was with Sarah and Matt. Sarahs knowledge of the area and the type of property /area we were interested in purchasing in was invaluable. Matt assisted us re bookings etc for viewings and we decided to purchase a new build on a small private development. Martin has taken us on our journey the past 6 months and the overall process from start to finish has been stress free. Communication has been excellent .
