Matt and his colleagues provided an excellent service throughout the whole process of selling our house (which others couldn’t) and also found us our new dream home which we are now settled in to. After struggling through lockdown and the general stressfulness of the whole ‘moving’ experience, Matt especially, kept us updated with our chain (which collapsed at the bottom) and certainly earned his commission as the team managed to push our sale through and also take advantage of the stamp duty holiday in time. This is my third move with Matt Balmer @ Jacob Steel. He has an amazing team behind him. All messages, emails etc are passed on and responded to quickly and efficiently. Always helpful and cheerful no detail however small dealt with effectively. A move during COVID-19 and full lockdown was never going to be easy but these guys were definitely on the ball. Fortunately my photos and details were done in January and they represented an honest view of my property. The valuation reflected the market values at the time and as we advanced into uncertainty with property prices Matt was honest in his advice in order to get my property sold. We bought and sold through Jacobs Steel and can honestly say that we were very pleased with our choice. The photos and presentation of the flat were streets ahead of a near identical flat elsewhere in the block that was also up for sale. Matt was a man who was very confident in his own negotiating abilities but was able to back up everything he said he could do. My only criticism would be that we didn't have many viewers but Matt was able to secure us a good deal, tying up sale and purchase at the same time. Jake was a star throughout. It's one thing to get a deal agreed but then the real work begins of getting all parts of the chain working together. This is where I have seen other estate agents fall down dismally but Jake kept me informed throughout and the entire process was smooth and stress free. Any obstacles that we encountered were overcome within days. All in all, I would happily recommend Jacobs Steel to anyone buying or selling. They acted like one cohesive team and were on the ball throughout. Thank you guys!

We recently completed on our sale through Jacobs Steel. This is the second time we’ve chosen Jacobs Steel after a failed move a couple of years ago and if we ever move again we would choose them without hesitation. Jake was probably the only person through the whole experience that fully informed us all the way through and nothing was ever too much trouble no matter how busy he was. We always felt very informed and in the loop after speaking to him. Matt was always there to help with any difficult situations and dealt with even the most testing of scenarios with good humour. Sharon is always so polite and lovely to chat to and it was nice to have such a friendly voice when times where stressful. To everyone we spoke to thank you for your patience and kindness and helping us all the way through probably the hardest move I’ve ever had to go through! Matt and his team not only helped me find my dream house but also did an incredible job of securing a sale on the house we wanted to sell. Once I'd fallen in love with the house I wanted to buy it was a race against time to get our house sold. Matt and the team pulled out all the stops for me and sold it within days of it going on the market - in fact there were several viewing before it even went up online. They kept in constant contact but in a friendly and informative way rather than sales driven. Matt negotiated really well on our behalf and the whole team very pro-active, approachable and friendly. I interviewed 3 prominent agents local to Southwick and I immediately felt comfortable with Jacobs Steel. Jake was friendly, professional and very well prepared for our appointment. Although I was not Jake Cockerton's client I was purchasing a property from his client. I contacted him a lot to assertain the progress of the conveyance and he responded quickly and did his best to chase up all the parties in the transaction.
