Which is why, when we found the perfect house and finally had an offer accepted, I’m so glad it was with Spencer’s. Lovely staff talked us through the process (we’re first time buyers) and kept us updated along the way. Great service!

I can't fault them - from start to finish they have provided an outstanding service. At every stage they have been delightful to deal with, helpful and proactive and communication has been excellent. You feel you are a known person and in fact having the super efficient and ever cheerful and positive Meg as the negotiator is like having a friend handling the sale for you. She was always at the end of the phone and her advice was really helpful and re-assuring especially as I had never sold a property before and I was impressed from the start when she came personally to view it. I did my own viewings and here again the office was very proactive and supportive. They checked that every person who had booked a viewing was actually coming and they followed up on all of them and kept the very useful online portal up to date with feedback. A very big thank you to Meg and the team for taking the stress out of the sale and actually making it quite an interesting and enjoyable process. They are without doubt a top estate agent!

I had a fantastic experience with Spencer, who helped me with the sale of my house this month. Chris Spooner provided really helpful and honest advice at the beginning of the process. Our brilliant agent Meg Hudson then ensured that everything went smoothly with the sale over the weeks and months that followed, with the help of Julie Osborne. Communication was excellent throughout. I kept waiting for the experience to become stressful, but it never did! One of the worst estate agents I've ever had to deal with. They feel it acceptable to let a property with urine soaked carpets, food splattered walls and hundreds of dead flies in the fridge (an issue they even noted on the moving in inventory, but couldn't be bothered to sort). When brought to their attention, they didn't seem at least one bit bothered and just kept saying 'let as seen'. Now given you normally get about 5 pressured minutes to quickly look round a property with other potential renters, you don't get chance to pick up on these things. And given the estate agent gets there early, opens windows and leaves the door open for ventilation, its hard to pick up on the urine smell. So hiding behind 'let as seen' is pretty pathetic. We had to spend two solid days (days away from work/loss of earnings) professionally cleaning all carpets, scraping gunk and sludge off the kitchen floor and cleaning out hundreds of dead flies from inside the fridge. Alas, it all got a bit too much so phoned Spencers and asked for someone to come to property to see for themselves. Of course just got fobbed off saying everyone was busy (this seemed weird given that two days earlier when picking up the keys, multiple staff members were sat around colouring in with a load of kids?). Found that the agent I had to deal with was pretty rude and uninterested. I've rented a few properties before, some professional, and some whilst a student. None of those were as bad as this was, and none of the agents were as unprofessional as Spencers were.

There are no words to describe how determined and diligent the team at Spencers have been in getting me through the sale of my mother-in-laws flat. My buyers had used an appalling on line company for their conveyancing, don’t EVER do this, you get what you pay for! 11 months of emails not answered, same questions asked multiple times and on completion day they lost the contracts! Lizzie at Spencers kept me sane through it all, remained calm and never gave up, her patience was incredible! Spencers team kept me informed every step of the way and despite it being a little one bedroom flat, without a doubt they cared! I can’t recommend Spencers enough! In. a world where everything is about the fee, they are a shining light from the old world when people had pride in the quality of the job they did, maintaining standards and being a joy to deal with along the way!

We recently sold our house through Spencers and cannot fault the service provised by Nicola, Chris, Lizzie and the rest of the team. Chris came round to the house within a couple of days and provided constructive advice about the property and the local market. Ben, the photographer, EPC assessor and floor plan man arrived a couple of days later and good quality, accurate marketing material was swiftly prepared and the property was on the market within a week. From there, Lizzie made a video tour of the property and conducted block viewings. We agreed a sale around 10% above the asking price within around a week of the property going on the market and completed the sale around five weeks later. The team at Spencers took care of virtually everything and the process required very little involvement from us. They will be my first port of call when we next need to sell and I would be very happy to reccomend them to others.

We recently sold with Spencer's and we cannot recommend them enough. Firstly, the smoothest introduction and explanation of every single step of the selling process; what we needed to do and by when. As well as the most satisfying customer-to-business interaction. They were really personable and answered all the 'stupid' questions we had about completion/exchange/viewings and all the other buying and selling jargon you come across along the way. Lizzie was great - she helped out so much and went over and above with last minute emails which were usually post-6pm with no fuss and always explaining the steps we were going through. I have bought and sold several homes, Spencer is most definitely the best and most honest estate agency I have ever worked with. I had previously used them for their lettings service which was excellent so I decided to try them again when it came to selling my property. The whole sales team were fantastic, but especially Meg Hudson, who was kind, patient, efficient and very professional throughout what turned out to be quite a difficult sales process. Meg answered all my emails and phone calls promptly, also liaised between myself and the buyer, and the buyer's solicitors and my solicitors too. I would highly recommend Spencer as your first stop for both sales and lettings in the Sheffield area......no one does it better!

I recently bought a property through the agency Spencer on Ecclesall Road. Meg Hudson was the sales negotiator that dealt with the process from start to finish. I was very impressed with Meg throughout, she was professional, responsive and personable. Whilst first and foremost she was working for the seller, I also felt that she was approachable and did her utmost to answer any queries and questions that I had going through the acquisition process. As a side note, I look at a lot of properties online and I believe that Spencer take the nicest photos and it is arguably that which made me book a viewing in the first place; it is also for that same reason that I will be using them to advertise the property for rental. All round, an A* service! :)
