The company has always given a good service and in a professional manner! Unfortunately there were some issues with how the apartment was given to me when I started my tenancy but the relationship with the agency and the service received evolved in a good way during my 3 years with them. Please, keep away from them... especially if you're a student! They will charge you for ANY pre-existing damage that the property you're renting has (and trust me, it will have pre-existing damage, they don't look after their properties very well), it doesn't matter if you have proof that it was there when you arrived, if you don't notice it immediately and report it on their inventory, it will NOT count and they will charge you for it. I tried providing evidence in my case and they threatened me with charging me a higher fee so I had to accept the charges they had decided just so that I could avoid a higher fee. They will definitely take advantage of you. BEWARE.

I dealt with this real estate office, unfortunately, very badly. My advice to students and expatriates is to stay away from it and deal with others I have rented a flat with this company and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I honestly would recommend that if you are looking to rent a property you should go with anyone but Sheffield City Living.

Cannot rate this place highly enough . From Tracey & Jonathan on the lettings side to Claire on the very responsive maintainence side. Repairs weren't taken seriously or carried out properly, keys to our flat were lost by the agency so contractors had to carry out work while we were home, we had bugs falling onto our bed from a crack in the ceiling and it took them 3 weeks to send someone out to fix it. Bit naff really.

I spent £6250 in rent. As soon as my contract was up they gave me a list of nonsense things they were trying to get me to pay for to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. £35 for replacing three lightbulbs! I highly advise you go to a different estate agents in Sheffield :)

They wanted me, the guarantor for a 70 year old lady from Ukraine to be fully employed and to be a homeowner. The only alternative given was to pay the full 6 month rent upfront - which I can do, but not with this attitude from them. They basically rejected me without even looking at my financials, assuming that "Ukrainians are poor and can not pay"
