As we all know moving house can be very stressful.Having sold our house we started the arduous task of finding a new home , visiting Harron homes at Throapham changed everything, Julie welcomed us in and discussed our options ,the show homes are very impressive , and we dared to dream , 2 week's later we’ve done it , a new Birkwith 4 bedroom detached house .Julie guided us through the whole process and today we happily left our deposit , thank you to the whole team at Harron homes. Buying a new home is something everyone should consider. ( thank you to Jo who patiently guided my wife this week , and answered a thousand questions about every possible subject )

First visit to Thoresby Vale

We’ve recently moved into a plot on the ‘Hawthorns’ estate in Carlton, the whole experience of moving in was spot on, The build quality of our house was flawless! With only a couple of very minor issues that were rectified very quickly by our site manager. All the staff members that work on site and in the office are very helpful and friendly, more specifically our site manager Simon, who has been very welcoming, helpful and friendly, very nice bloke to have around knowing if we did have any issues, he would be straight on it

A great experience

What a fantastic team we encountered at the Brambles in Retford.Penny, the sales negotiator and Paul,the site manager make a superb double act.They were both brilliant from start to finish.Paul ,whom we met several times gave us interesting and informative talks re-the build whilst Penny,with her expertise and knowledge of house buying and all that entails made the process easy and enjoyable. Penny always greeted us with a smile and dealt with questions and queries in a friendly and professional manner.Nothing was ever too much trouble for her.We were given weekly updates on the progress of the house together with photographs for the album. We were amazed yet delighted with the quality of workmanship.People taking a pride in their jobs is somewhat rare these days but at HarronHomes in Retford it is obviously the norm.Thank you.

Great experience with Julie Cliff!

We had a fantastic experience dealing with Julie Cliff at Brierley Heath (now at Laughton Gate). She was very helpful and knowledgeable of the buying process, the range of houses on site, and gave great advice when configuring our options. We would absolutely recommend buying with Harron based on our experience, so much so we are now looking to buy our 2nd Harron home. This wouldn't be possible if Julie hadn't made the process such a pleasure for us both.

Visited the Shipley Lakeside…

Visited the Shipley Lakeside development three times, one to enquire, once to enquire again and book an appointment and another to view a potential plot and part ex forms. All three times we was greeted in a friendly professional manner despite initially upon first visit no capacity to go any further with a property on the development. We resolved our issues and quickly informed the sales person (Charlotte) that we were in a position to proceed in a view to buy and she began helping, informing and swiftly aiding us in hopefully getting our dream home. When visiting the plot we were pleasantly surprised by the location, I also noted the quality of workmanship especially the brickwork. Everything looked well cared for and the quality was of high standard.

Harron Homes Far Grange Meadows Selby

We purchased on the Far Grange Meadow site in March 2023. To be honest we have been appalled by the level of post sales customer service, fighting to get jobs done and then tradesmen who comes months later from the issues being logged come looking fed up and not interested in doing the work. We expected some snagging issues in a new build but these are major issues and ones which NHBC should have picked up on. We are now in the process of complaint to NHBC and quality board. I think we have had 4 site managers in less than 10 months ! Buyers beware.

Garden issues

We moved into Bishops Glade Ripon in July 2023. The garden is a huge, lovely space. But it is full of closely compacted large stones. I don’t know how deep they go but we have found it is impossible to do any planting etc. in the garden. The small amount of topsoil is mud. The drainage of the garden is poor leaving large pools of water unable to drain away. We have asked Harron Homes for support and advice with this but this has not been forthcoming. We are extremely disappointed and despondent. We do not know what to do. We cannot leave the garden as it is, we have to do something! Therefore our experience of buying this house has been spoiled and the joy of buying a new home is lost.Update - it is true that customer services have been in touch but no resolution has been suggested as yet, let alone a suitable one. When a suitable resolution has been reached I will post on Trustpilot.

Shocking company, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!We are currently in a chain and the final culprit holding up everything is these guys. They're treating everyone (including the buyer who's getting the home from them) like muck and they have now delayed the house for no reason! Shocking communication and clearly only care about getting some money in their pockets, cheers for ruining christmas.

Top houses and super service from Hannah and Jeanett

It has been a great pleasure to have met Hannah at Bilsthorpe Chase. The property I interested wasn't available at her site althought she skilfully found a way to further help pointing me in the right direction to another site nearby where I would find the plot I like. Jeannet at the Maulay Manor greeted me with a lovely smile. She is very knowledgeable and professional. She explained all in every detail, very attentive and friendly. I am very happy about the outcome of my visit and I am looking forward to move to one of the beautiful Harron homes soon.

Harron Homes shameful and a discrace

Update, as suspected I get the standard cut and paste answer that everyone in Yorkshire gets So 5 times now Harron Homes or their contractors have not turned up to our property on BishopGlade Ripon incl waiting in all day yesterday without any phone call, we have 3 sheets of issues snags since June that haven't been fixed including a waterlogged garden full of builder rubble, a leaking garage with a 2 inch gap above garage door, sinking drive way, gaps in patio doors, bannister that all need to be replaced, front door that is being replaced, the list is endless excuse after excuse and delay tactics from Customer services so social media it is. No doubt I will get the same auto response here about ' we will look into it'

Oaklands Heath Site

Oaklands Heath site. The quality of the build was very good. There has been no issues with the electrical and plumbing works and there has been minimal plastering / paint work snags that needed to be completed. Any snags that were identified are going through the snagging process and are getting rectified accordingly. Quality of the workmanship across the board is very good.
