Wonderful Estate Agents!

All the team at Paul Meakin have been wonderful. They are incredibly friendly, professional and truly care about their clients. Throughout buying our first home we were very well looked after by the team who always had time for us and were more than willing to support us through any hick-ups throughout the buying process. We would like to extend a special thanks to Gill and Emma who worked really hard to make this purchase happen for us and always responded promptly to all of our requests and enquiries, often going above and beyond. We so appreciate this and it has made our buying experience feel really positive even when complications arose. Paul Meakin honestly are an excellent example of what an estate agents should be like and we will definitely recommend them in future! Thanks again everyone!

Lovely team but frustrating from start to finish

I reached out to Paul Meakin to set up viewings on two properties on the Inglewood estate, one directly after another. The Agent that was to show me around (Amy) was switched at the last minute and her stand in (Amelia) running late, which PM did call to tell me about, but only 10 minutes after the appointment time and after I had already been in the first property and been shown around by the owner. When Amelia arrived, she didn't actually know where the second property was located on the estate which led to us walking around in heavy rain to find it. I should say, none of this was necessarily Amy's fault, and she was extremely lovely and apologetic, but it didn't come across as entirely professional and was somewhat frustrating. After viewing the second property, I decided to put an offer in. It took the seller a week to accept this offer, during which time both Amy and Sam were in clear and regular contact with me to update me on the situation. This is where all communication stopped, though. My offer was accepted on 7th July and this was the last I heard from the branch without my reaching out first.I know that the stamp duty announcement on July 8th threw everything in the industry into chaos so I am inclined to be more forgiving of this but when I contacted them on the 14th August and again on the 30th September as we came across hurdles in the process, responses were prompt and friendly but not entirely accurate and generally promising to look into things with no follow up. Then, in mid-October, I started to be emailed daily, pressuring me and forcing me into actions on things where we were actually still awaiting responses from the seller. I know that this pressure was coming from the seller and the onward chain, but this was somewhat unreasonable given that the seller was the one holding things up. All in all, I found the people themselves to be lovely and polite but not the most helpful under a frustrating purchase.

I cannot speak more highly of Paul Meakin

I cannot speak more highly of Paul Meakin as an estate agent-they rang me every step of the way to update me and they were always so helpful when I needed some advice. There is always someone at the end of a phone to answer any questions you may have. I know you can find cheaper estate agents out there but you definitely get what you pay for in this circumstance. Amy especially was very helpful throughout the whole process. But the whole team were excellent. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service. We were buying a property which Paul Meakin were managing. It was a long 5 link chain, that commenced right before Covid-19. Needless to say this caused a lot of uncertainty, and the chain moved slowly due to solicitors, estate agents etc closing. Emma kept it moving throughout, chasing the entire chain (not only her own links) and kept us informed Throughout. I genuinely think if it wasn’t for her the chain would have collapsed. Thank you so much for everything, we are so pleased to finally be in our new home

My experience was great, but the new home isn't.

My experience was great, Amy, Natalie and Gill were supportive from the start to end. I got my keys on Monday. Thanks guys.But the new home we purchased is sham, we only got to know that the roof was leaking at the staircase area when it rained yesterday, the former owners used paint to cover damp at this side and in both rooms due to leaky roof. The kitchen was boarded when they refurbished for selling purpose and the window looking into the garage from the kitchen is visible if you go into the garage. In the sitting room the decking also look damp like there is a leak from the toilet, but it was as well concealed by stain blocker.It's an old building with a noisy decking. The house was painted by former owners to make it look attractive to potential buyers like us. They also left items in the garage which we have to dispose of with money.

We had a lovely call once they received our request for a valuation & an appointment made for viewing our apartment was so quick. It did have to get altered slightly (the time of the day & viewer) but we reassured them that it was not a problem at all. The agent, Emma, who vistited us was very polite & not false at all. She gave us information as to what we should expect & did not come across with any pressure at all. Emma was lovely. Also, our original appointment was arranged to be with Charlotte & she called in the week to ask if we minded that the time of the appointment & agent were changed....having asked so politely & so early, we were happy to alter. Common sense and supportive
