Repeatedly deliver an excellent experience

I've used Howkins and Harrison 3 times now, twice when purchasing and once when selling. Throughout all of those transactions, David and Jamie in Northampton have been completely fair and proactive in chasing things up. None of them at the branch exhibit any of the stereotypical estate agent vibes, which is what made me go with them above all else when selling. I had a few agents to value and one of them tried to push me into signing with pretty underhand tactics. Jamie just came for a chat, explained how he would do things and was upfront with what was good and bad about the house, and anything that could cheap and easily be remedied. Throughout the selling process, my buyers have had some things they wanted changing, or the agreed price altering - Jamie and David were brilliant at being fair and sitting in the middle, ensuring it was as fair as possible on both sides. Most people you talk to (including me with most other agents!) come out of the house purchase/sale process feeling like the estate agents have done very little for their comission, but with Howkins and Harrison I always feel they have earned it, and the deal wouldn't have happened anywhere near as easily without them. Would thoroughly recommend and will be using them again the next time I come to sell.

We met Lisa Swinnerton from the Atherstone branch after seeking a new letting agent following a bad experience with another company. She has been amazing since the start. Lisa is efficient and just a few days after the property was advertised she had viewings and she put forward several prospective tenants. Absolutely disgraceful. Easily the worst estate agent I have ever encountered. Once they have you locked in as a tenant, they become completely unreachable. Calls ignored. Emails ignored. Messages ignored. It’s like dealing with a brick wall, except a brick wall is more responsive. The Rugby lettings team is beyond incompetent. I have been chasing serious issues for nearly a month. Every single time I’m fobbed off with “leave it with us,” followed by total silence. No updates. No action. No professionalism. They are quick to take rent but utterly useless when it comes to doing their actual job. You are left stressed, frustrated, and wasting your time constantly chasing people who clearly do not care. This agency treats tenants with complete disregard. If you value communication, accountability, or basic human decency, stay well away.

We’ve been with Howkins and Harrison…

We’ve been with Howkins and Harrison now for over 3 years and we do owe a lot to them in finding the perfect house to rent. At a time of desperate need during COVID they found us a house which to this day has been so far the best we’ve lived in. Any problems or issues with the house are never a trouble or problem, at times I feel a bit of a pain as 1 thing goes in the house and other problems seem to follow but they are quick to reply and get on top of whatever that problem is. A special shout out to Nicole Ashenden from the Daventry Lettings Team for her prompt, kind replies. All those who work in the Daventry office are there to help you by always being at the end of an email or phone call.

I placed our property on the market with Howkins following a very efficient initial enquiry and subsequent marketing strategy. The property was SSTC within 48 hours and the process was seamless Our property was then part of the probate process which once achieved was where Claire and the team shone, we had problems with communication with the buyers solicitor but Claire was totally vigilant keeping the process moving daily updating us until we reached exchange and completion. The sales team were exceptional their internal communication strategy allowed any of the team to be in a position to respond and support I would highly recommend Claire and the sales team and can’t thank them enough.

Drew Stewart of Northampton did an excellent job of looking at the bigger picture and quickly resolving an internal H&H issue, finding a solution to the main issue and apologising to myself and the previous tenants. I was told that (a team member) tried to get extra rooms painted which i hadn’t requested which caused delays and upset the previous tenant and myself. This should never have happened in the first place, if H&H had been looking after my house properly then the issue wouldn’t have been there in the first place.
