GoogleI rented a house with this agency and to be honest it’s been the worst experience I’ve had. In September someone smashed one of the windows and broke into the house. Pamela Perry and Ruth Brothers they both lied to me about that they will fix the window when they knew that the landlord doesn’t have money! (That’s what Pamela told me when I gave her the keys of the house)In January they’ve fixed that window after I moved out from the house as it was not safe!!And they kept even some of my bond and every single time they gave me another reason why they doing it.

Arranging viewings and making an acceptable offer was so straightforward and even when we encountered problems with the details of our purchase Laura jumped in quickly to get them resolved and the sale back on track. GoogleMy partner and I had a viewing of a house on Ferrars Road booked at 12pm yesterday. We arrived there early and found a group of 6-7 people waiting outside the house. After joining them, we waited until 12:15pm for your agent to show up, and then left disappointed. You wasted our time, and did not even contact us to apologise for it. Also, I think it's worth mentioning here than the gate leading to the back of the house was on the ground, and we could see through the window that the curtains were mouldy at the bottom. That alone led us to believe that you don't care enough to make the house look presentable.
Thank you for the note, our agent genuinely forgot keys for the property, a mistake that any one of us could make. Instead of leaving without notifying anybody he chose to stay and advise those that did attend. Apologies for any inconvenience.

GoogleNever have I had a worse experience, even when renting; they are patronizing and inept. Problems with the vendors aside, the problems started on day one when they couldn't spell my partners name correctly and as far as I know didn't even bother to correct the mistake with the lawyers so every communication we received had the wrong name on it, despite us asking repeatedly. It goes on. There were works needed on the house, no big surprise. We get quotes from appropriately accredited experts on the causes of the issues, the scope of the works needed, clear drawings, clear billings, brilliant. The estate agent recommended a someone to the vedors who of course came back with a much lower figure. I spoke to the vendors recommended "damp expert" person on the phone, and I would not use them. He claimed the house had voids in the cavity walls, when even I spotted the plugs in the brick work where it had been insulated, he didn't notice the rot in the loft caused by the lighting in the bathroom, he hadn't noticed that most of the plaster in the house is blown, or that the leak on the chimney hadn't been fixed. Whats worse is that he took the vendors word that the chimney leak had been fixed, and challenged me to prove that the house had cavity wall insulation! So I talk through my concerns with Bartons, and am told in the most patronizing manner that I shouldn't have used a series of appropriately accredited surveying firms, that I shouldn't believe their reasonable clear honest logical and well presented quotes, that I was taken in by a fancy company and should have used the "honest to sod" unbiased "damp expert" they recommended. As it turns out the house in question is full of damp, the chimney leak is still present, the plaster is blown, the brickwork needs re-pointing, the render needs patching etc etc. I have the stains on my walls to prove it. I am now several thousand worse off and still have to get the works done.

Google5 - star customer experience!! Having had conversations with multiple agents in the area I was immediately impressed with how Harriet handled the initial conversation, and I was left feeling confident that Bartons would look after my account professionally. Not pushy at all, Harriet explained everything, and she also reduced the risk after listening to my concerns regarding market conditions. Once I had committed things moved really quickly in the right direction and my advertisement was placed the same week. The marketing team did such a good job that enquiries came flooding in - which brings me onto the next person that I was very impressed with. Georgina handled all of the enquiries in the most professional way imaginable and kept me up-to-date on a daily basis with informative email reports and the odd phone call whenever necessary. It felt like a very personal service with Georgina and not once did I feel like one of many clients. Occasionally when negotiating a property sale, awkward and challenging conversations need to be had, but Georgina took care of everything once again and ultimately secured multiple offers - she is clearly a very skilled negotiator, and her experience proved invaluable when acting a sales mediator. Other team members also made proactive searches for suitable properties to fit my budget/requirements/circumstances (not just with Bartons but across other agencies too). My experience with Bartons was amazing, the whole process of buying/selling a property can seem daunting but the professional, caring, customer focussed team made it least stressful undertaking possible. Highly recommended, hence why I'm thanking them with this review and a packet of chocolate hobnobs :-)
