TrustpilotPostOffice everday banking - avoid
Paid a cheque into the post office from our building society to be paid into my Barclays account. I had the Cheque from the Building society, filled out all the details at the local post office on the 19th October, and was given a receipt. The cheque never arrived at Barclays as of today, 1 November. Nationwide say the Cheque was issued but never cashed. Barclays say they still haven't received the cheque. Unable to find a contact for this issue at the Post Office and have spent many hours trying to find out what has happened. Both bank and Building society have been responsive . PO? can't even find someone to talk to on this. A significant valued cheque of our money is somewhere in the PO System. Will cancel cheque and NEVER use then again. Update:From the PO - covering themselves and no concern or proactive action. NEVER, NEVER again will I use them."Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you have an issue with a cheque deposited at a Post Office branch. Post Office Ltd have a banking agreement in place with all our partner banks, including Barclays, which stipulates how enquiries and complaints about banking services and transactions need to be handled. This banking agreement specifies that ALL banking complaints and enquiries need to be raised directly with your bank’s liaison team (not their general customer service team). This allows your bank to log the full details of the issue, and to liaise with our Financial Service Centre (FSC) to identify the problem and resolve it.The agreement in question makes it very clear that Post Office Ltd cannot accept any enquiries or complaints about banking directly from customers. All customers have to follow the same process for these issues, and whilst I apologise that you feel we are ‘passing the buck’ I can assure you that if we were able to help you, we would be happy to do so.You’ll now need to get back in touch with your bank’s liaison team and demand that they follow the correct process agreed between themselves and Post Office Ltd. I’m very sorry that we can’t help you directly, and I apologise for any frustration or inconvenience this matter is causing you. - Tom".Basically - the PO lost my cheque and show no effort to respond to me or consider the impact.

TrustpilotPoor slow service
I went into my local post office yesterday to return some items I had order from a catalogue. So the parcel already had the correct labels and it just needed scanning. I walked into the post office to find 7 people waiting ( only a small office) so this was a long queue. There was only one counter opened (2 counters available). The second member of staff (who could have been on the second counter) walked around talking and distracting the member of staff on the one counter that was open. Hence, making her very slow! I have worked in shops and currently work in a gp surgery and there is always a rule that if there is a queue, everyone got on the till/reception until the queue when down. Does that not apply in the post office? Very poor slow service.

TrustpilotWhat a absolute joke
What a absolute joke . I needed a letter to arrive as soon as possible. Went into post office was informed that I could pay £9.20 for it to arrive by 1pm next day however if I wanted it to arrive by 9am next day I had to pay £53.00 how can you justify charging that much just to deliver a letter . Talk about ripping people off .

TrustpilotPost office service is truly awful.
Post office service is truly awful.I purchased 2 postal orders to pay driving fines, I then received a letter telling me 2 letters had been issued & 1 of the postal orders returned to me, took back to the post office with original receipt but was told as the order is crossed I’d have to return to post office correspondence team for a refund, fair enough and lovely girl gave me the full address to send too. That was the start of September & ive had nothing back yet, registered a complaint but have had nothing back from that either. My issue isn’t with the branch they’re lovely staff it’s the lack of refund or even a response from post office as a company, not even a contact number so I can speak to an actual human. Awful service from such a large well known organisation

TrustpilotMachines not working = can't collect parcel. No alternative options.
Ordered from Amazon & chose to pick up at the Post Office just down the street from me. Delivery was 3 days. Arrived at the Post Office to pick up my parcel & was told the machine to scan my barcode in order to collect my parcel was not working. Said there was nothing else they could do so I was unable to collect my parcel & was told that they don't know when the issue will be fixed. If the issue persists, it looks like my parcel will be returned to Amazon & I won't get it😠Pity they're so reliant on technology & have no alternative such as taking my name & pickup code which would have still allowed me to get my parcel😔

TrustpilotWhat a shambles
What a shambles! I posted a package from Leicester to London, nothing valuable so just first class post. It cost me £4.19 in postage. There's a nice little note on the receipt that says 'Delivery aim: next working day'. Ha ha! The package didn't arrive. It's lost somewhere in the ether! The Post Office is no help at all, don't take responsibility for anything! So Post Office enjoy your ill gotten gains, my £4.19 and, by the looks of things the contents of the package.

TrustpilotRobert I believe his name is
Robert I believe his name is - the so called manager in the sub post Audenshaw M34 Manchester sub post office speaks to customers like dirt. Either treat people the same or keep your mouth shut and act like a professional is my opinion instead of showing people up with an audience to look clever. It doesn't make him look clever it makes him look a bully to women when he takes it out on a customer who simply wanted a small detail checking. It was nothing to do with them not believing he can do his job ( as he ranted at her ) She simply wanted the size of the parcel checking for her own peace of mind that was all. She thought the box size was small parcel ( just ) and it was JUST over in the end but his attitude when she asked him to check against the box they use for this purpose was atrocious in front of a post office full of customers listening on.His excuse was he had a long queue of customers waiting. She too had been waiting so he should have helped her in what took a moment to do so.He was more than happy to chat and have a laugh with the guy before her - even to the point of putting tape around his parcel making it smaller to save HIM money and this took longer than the woman's query who bore the brunt of his wrath as he accused her of saying he could not do his job properly. It was not a case of that. He had measured it side on and not length ways and she thought he may have rushed checking due to the queue - that was all.Complaint - Don't take it out on your customers if you don't have any staff in to help with an influx of customers. Other people notice and are listening to you bullying the woman who was in total shock as a daily customer at his attitude towards her.If you cannot be bothered with checking a box size for a daily / regular customers take a breather or pay staff to help you ! It is that simple. He clearly knew her and wanted to rush her through due to the queue but being nasty and rude is not the answer. It actually took longer as she quite rightly told him there was no need for him to be rude and speak to her in such a way which set him off ready for a full blown argument. Even when she was silent and getting her money out he still carried on at her with the customers watching. There is nothing clever or to be proud of being rude to a woman who wanted a small detail checking, He was happy to do it for the guy before even to the point of being jovial ( despite the long queue ) and tape it around for Him to make the parcel smaller )He was so rude dismissive and shockingly nasty to the woman without any need whatsoever. Without customers he would have no job. It is upsetting and pretty appalling in this day and age to hear him talk to customers as though they are imbeciles when he wanted to take his frustration out on someone he assumed he could get away with it with due to the queue. It wasn't her fault and if he had simply done as she asked wold have taken less time in the end rather than be nasty to her. After a rant he took down the box to check the size slammed it about on top of the measuring box asking her are you saying I don't know how to do my job properly. There was simply no need for that and it took a moment of his time, it did him no harm at all but he saw fit to address her in a terrible way publicly. He needs to learn some manners patience and respect for those choosing to use the post office, he has a terrible way with certain people and picks an argument if he is having a bad day with both customers and colleagues beneath him. He is meant to be in charge in the sub post office so he should set an example not lose it with a woman who just wanted a parcel size checking. He took longer with a couple of them before her who were chattering away at him and there was no mention of there being other people waiting in the queue - which is how he responded to her when she wanted the size of parcel checking, he told her he had a queue of people waiting which she was well aware of as she too had been in the queue waiting patiently. The customer simply wanted to take up a couple of moments of his time after queuing for their turn to be helped and he verbally attacked them with such venom it was upsetting to watch and listen to and we felt so sorry for the customer given all they wanted was the price and size checking - that was all but his response was so rude and belittling and it was clear the customer was very upset by this . Don't bully customers in front of other people. It is not clever or polite.

Hi Tom.I have completed what you have requested. Regards.SusanI returned my item on the 4/9/23 that was 13 days ago, through the QR Code I was sent. I returned it through the post office in Condorrat Cumbernauld. Whom informed me that Amazon have a new QR Code system making it impossible to issue return receipts. This seller BELLE LINGERIE is claiming that the QR Code was sent from Amazon and that the QR Code has not been scanned, without a receipt of posting they have refused to refund me my money back at £27. I contacted Amazon whom insisted that it is the seller that sent the QR Code and the seller is a 3rd party on Amazon. So basically Amazon are having nothing to do with it. The seller is refusing to refund me. The post office are insisting that Amazon QR Code system does not give receipts. All 3 of them blaming one another and basically not interested in the fact that despite returning the item using the correct returns policy. I don't have the item nor have my £27 refund. Utterly shocking and disgraceful system not to even mention the extremely poor customer service from all three of them!Amazon Return ID: DNl5lhp8RRMAOrder ID: 026-8178034-8283500

I am very impressed by 2 young talented ladies, Valentina and Cinderella's help on last Friday 15 Sept 2023 when I was in the Oxford Post Office trying to have my old stamps swapped out to the current new stamps via the Royal Mail's application form. Valentina was very reliable in helping me to double count how many stamps need to be swapped out, and then calculating the total value of them, etc. before it's her time to go home. Then Cinderella came to help me for the completion of the posting package. From the start to finish the job, they were pleasant and offered me their best and professional help. I experienced what a First Class service is like!

TrustpilotWorst Service Ever!!
POST OFFICE LONDON ROAD NORBURY….ZERO STARS!!! These people need a course in customer service! Extremely rude, and not helpful at all. First they had that grumpy man shouting at everyone, and now two of the male staff have followed suit. They haven’t noticed that they’re losing customers. I used to go there every day and now I won’t step foot in this shop. It’s a bit of an inconvenience, but I go to post office inside WH Smith in Streatham, where I see many others who also won’t go to Norbury, and some of them will complain to staff about how poor the service at Norbury is. They should be shut down for good! What is the Royal Mail going to do about this? Surely this can’t be permitted to continue.IN RESPONSE TO JESSthank you for the response, however this has been going on for years. The staff is very comfortable behaving this way, so I’m not expecting anything to change. This isn’t the first complaint I’ve made, it’s very disappointing that after 10 years nothing has changed. Evri and Yodel are looking like the way forward for business customers.

I just been to the Post Office in Old Leake Lincolnshire. I wanted to get some Euros saw the rate of 1.12 bought 440 Euros. When I got home saw that I had only received a rate of 1.05 euros. Phoned the Post Office and was told 1.12 was the online rate but the Post Office was 1.05. At no point was I told I was getting a rate 1.05. If that is the rate that should be the rate shown in the Post Office not the on line rate. Told could bring back but would only get the buy back rate. Today I went to the bridgeton post office to return a parcel, which I had been told by sender would be free. I had done the same thing a month ago. And the parcel was taken, returned and delivered back to sender. Today, in same post office with same woman I was told they couldn't take it, and I needed a QR code and would need to pay. The woman was just horrible, trying to speak to me as if I was a child. I reminded her that as a public servant she worked for me as I'm a taxpayer. I can't be bothered with petty people anymore so I just left. But was told not to come back as I left 🤭😂 Al be back. It's my local post office and my taxes pay for it to function for my use. So all in all, not good management or manners. And slow lethargic service. I also bought a small electric fire out of the po. One of the bars broke one week later. Took it back to po. Was told it was sais and nothing to do with po. 🤭 Sais said po was to blame. So, I have a fire I can't use, and a post office that changes it's rules to suit 🤭.

TrustpilotWelcome to the Human'less' Post Office Service
I wish I could leave Zero stars. But we are forced to give One star to write a review. Had a confrontation with a Cashier in a branch the other day. Made a formal complaint online. Didnt even receive a confirmation email that they've received it. Further down the line I checked the receipt & the same Cashier charged me incorrectly for Royal Mail Service. I called up Royal Mail, she was abrupt & unfriendly, referred me to Post Office. She gave me the number 0345 722 3344 and probably took satisfaction in this, as she knew I would not be able to speak with a live human being. ALL of the differennt options on this tel number are 'dead-ends', cannot speak to a live human being. So now I understand how this 'Cashier' was allowed to behave the way she did as I was surprised none of her colleagues intervened and told her to 'pipe down' because she was Slanderous at one stage. As its 'filtered down' in the culture of this 'Once Great Service'. Yet, the 'Customer Focused Service', 'Pristeen, Efficient & Friendly' & photos of 'Happy Postmen & Women' on the internet etc is all a 'False Veneer' & is 'Far From The Truth'. No doubt their CEO Nick Read is doing a 'Fantastic Job' though to his 'Pupper Masters', aka 'The 33deg Freemasons', as its all about Digitialising Everyting, Less Human Interaction, Bad Face to Face Customer Services who are Often Stressed, and encourage Unfriendliness & Arrogance... Oh!... & More & More Automated Voices & Bots! Welcome to the start of the 'New World Order'!

Sent some magazines to a relative who had had a knee replacement op. Arrived at destination in post office plastic bag with a note of apology for the state of the package as it was a mess. On opening the package it contained a blue box with a message saying happy birthday XXXXXX and a photograph album full of their family photos. Unfortunately I have lost the receipt for the parcel so cannot take it further. Not surprising Post Office is in a mess as the above means that 2 customers have been left disappointed. Had a reply from post office saying that they are separate to Royal Mail. Not sure how we are supposed to know this as items were sent via a post office. How do you send via post office and via Royal Mail? I assumed Royal Mail was putting things into a post box and post office is when you go into a post office to send something. I would not recommend wollaston post office. They were very rude, very abusive, not letting me explain. I put a birthday card in my walker, I accidentally walked out forgetting to pay, I realised when walking down the road. I went back to pay for the item. They were closing the shop, pulling down the shutters, when I tried to explain they were very rude and would not even accept my apologies. They banned me from the shop. I'm not that bothered really, the staff are just a joke. There is nothing never available or suitable, and lack in items that I wish to buy. I'm disabled and struggle, I have arthritis in my spine. And I use a walker and I'm a wheelchair user. I think they were rude, being abusive and calling me a thief in front of people, that was not really professional behavier. And to say there supposed to be shop owners, it's just a joke. They threatened to call the police, I'd have loved to tell them, they would probably just have laughed at them for wasting police time. They really just have an attitude problem. TrustpilotPost Office Travel Insurance
I bought a travel insurance policy with the post office to go to India this year. While there I fell ill and had to delay my trip home while undergoing medical treatment. I am still waiting nearly three months later for my claim to be settled, despite sending all relevant documents required a long time ago and being told that the claim handler does have all the required documents. I cannot reach anyone on the phone, and when I chase this up via email I keep getting a generic response saying that the Post Office is dealing with a lot of claims and the claim handler will get back to me. This is highly frustrating as there insurance policy says that all claims will be dealt with normally within 5-7 days. Also the assistance I received when ill and unable to travel in India was negligible - the local medical team needing endlessly chasing up and often did not pick up the phone. I also had to get a local friend to help with rebooking my flight and arranging accommodation as none was offered by the insurance company. The service they gave in India was very poor. Now the service they are giving back in the UK with regard to settling my claim is non existent. It is highly frustrating to be waiting nearly 3 months for a straightforward claim to be settled, without any feedback and with such a long timeline.

Cheltenham Post Office is set into WH Smith in the High Street. All I needed was proof of postage for two signed-for parcels, one I'd paid extra for special next day delivery. Only two counters open, one was occupied by some people struggling with an endless form. Then the other one closed. There was an assistant behind the counter who could clearly see the queue and the other counter still occupied, but she chose to ignore us. I waited a total of 40 minutes before a kindly customer advisor came out and scanned my parcels but by this time the post had left. So my 'special next day delivery' will arrive 24 hours late. I have been told this Post Office is a WHSmith franchise and all they care about is the shareholders. If you live in Cheltenham and need a post office go to the one in Bath Road where they are friendly and efficient and do not ignore you!
