Wouldn’t give a star if had a choice

Wouldn’t give a star if I had an option! We have been dealing with Peter Alan via renting a property, firstly they pushed for a move in date despite the house requiring work from previous tennants however we moved in. Over 30+ issues not listed on the inventory, inventory listings ‘acceptable/ good’ when the pictures were documenting poor standards. We are now 6 weeks into being in the property, still chasing any form of communication from Peter Alan, we know this is them as thankfully our landlady (who is paying them to manage this property) has been in touch with us as she is experiencing the same challenges from Peter Alan! Fair to say, do not pay Peter Alan to manage a property as you will have very unhappy tennants and poor customer service. Landlord/lady’s you can do a better job yourself.

Really poor from the buyer's perspective. Called about a property the moment it hit the market. Sales team busy, was promised a callback. No callback for several hours. Called them again and was told they didn't have the key to the property but would call me back when they did. After 24 hours, having heard nothing, I called again and was booked in for a viewing three days later. On the morning of the viewing, I got a voicemail to say my viewing had to be rearranged. I called back a matter of minutes later and was told the property had been sold. Really poor communication, mixed messaging and casual attitude. When I sell my property, I'll know who not to use.

I rented a property through them and I am only giving 2 stars because I can’t be too harsh, they at least closed the deal for me. Now the bad review is that when I picked up the keys and went to the property, the house was AWFUL! THE ENTIRE HOUSE WAS A MESS! The bath tube was black out of dirty, all drawers, cabinet and cupboard was dirty, the floor was horrendous, the 2 chairs provided were falling apart, I asked to have the bed, mattress and a metal shelf removed and they confirmed it would be and guess what? The bed which was also falling apart was still there when I moved in. I sent them an email explaining and instead of they (Liam) take ownership and at least apologise, they said it was the landlord duty to check, when I queried the landlord he said it would Peter Alan’s duty, so it has clearly been a mess. If if I can choose, I will never work with Peter Alan again and I recommend you do the same, have a bit of love for yourself and save yourself time and stress, choose another agency.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service . Try and get information for a house you rent out and get passed from person to person. Been trying to get regulation smoke alarms fitted since November and still no closer. Shocking when there are no smoke alarms in the house. Not helpful for landlords and no safety for tenants. I have spoken to Hathaways today cheaper and really helpful. Gave me a breakdown of costs instantly. Good luck if you choose Peter Alan as a landlord. Waste of money and time and effort.

Pontypridd branch- Shocking

I recently applied to view a house with Peter Alan in Pontypridd, after several attempts at contacting them and booking a viewing, it was cancelled the same day string the property had been let, only for it to appear online again, after enquiring was told no viewings available as the landlord has they keys and someone would call me the next morning to arrange a date, next morning and no phone call, called up to be told that they wouldn’t have any news till the following week, cue the following week and still no response, emailed and called no response, got a friend to call and told the next available viewing would be Saturday, booked it in reluctantly as I was hesitant about dealing with Peter Alan going forward, only to get a call to say the property was no longer available!! Disgusted with the customer service I didn’t receive and will avoid Peter Alan at all costs.

Extremely bad maintenance team - I lived in Neath near town centre and the service provided to us was pathetic. The house had moulds and damp issues everywhere. I used to provide a reminder to the maintenance team after every week and they didn't help us at all. Pathetic service!!

Made a complete mess of lettings details of my property. Took five weeks to put it on Rightmove. I wanted to change agents but they offered me £350 to stay with them which I did. However when I asked for the £350 they wouldn't give it. I took them to small claims court and was told that because I had not accepted their offer in writing they didn't have to pay it. A small devious loophole in the law. I wonder how many times they have used this and offered compensation and not paid. They gained the letting fees and management fees and I certainly feel conned by their dishonesty. Avoid these agents. They don't care about landlords or tenants only their own bank balance.

We tried to buy a property but Peter Alan Neath did not show up!

NO SHOW FOR THE BUYERI spoke to the Peter Alan - Neath branch and booked to view a house. I received the confirmation text, confirming the booking. 150 mile round trip for us.The day before the viewing I received a reminder text, which I replied to, advising of our ETA, which was early. On the day of the viewing I received a voicemail to call them back and confirm my attendance. I left a voicemail confirming our ETA on the number they supplied.We arrived 15 mins early to check out the area which was perfect. A our viewing time of 10:30 we were at the door to the property. No show by the agent. We left another voicemail while still outside the property at 10:45. No response.No reply or response even two days later! I feel sorry for the sellers using this estate agents. I begrudge leaving 1 star but that's the way it works on trustpilot....

They have been very unprofessional throughout the selling process of our bungalow. They put pressure on us to get our property on the market for Boxing Day 2022, which never happened as pictures weren't taken in time, and we had to chase to get them done as no communication with the photographer. We weren't going to put the property on the market until the spring. We've only had 1 viewing in 2 months, we've tried to be released from a 5 months contract to no avail. They lied about the selling fee of 1.6%, as we queried it and was told that was the going rate for South Wales. This is not the case as most other agents charge 1%. We are tied in the contract for another 3 months as they won't release us and they have no-one on their books matching our property. All we would like is to be released so we can get our property sold as we want to relocate back to Ipswich, Suffolk, England.

The most shocking experience ever! Excepted an offer on our house from an apparent "cash buyer". Peter Alan strung us along pretending everything would be ok, allowed us to move all our goods into storage, allowed us to pay money out on our new build whilst agreeing that everything would go through by the agreed date. Only to find out after the agreed sale date our buyer didn't have the cash and the buyer had informed PA - at no point did they let us know, how are you allowed to treat people like this?? We are now at a financial loss because of them and have to start the whole process again - with another estate agent. Stay away, they lie to you and never bother to call you back - they all need to go on some customer service training.
