TrustpilotRecently moved In to our rented…
Recently moved In to our rented property before we said we are not moving in untill the kitchen, back bedroom and main bedroom was painted white as they was bright blue and purple they agreed. We wanted to move in before Christmas also they turned around and said wait till after the house is having a deep clean. We finally moved in there was no painting done and the house looked/smelt like it has not been cleaned in over 6 year was disgusting. I think communication from the agent and landlord needs to be better!

TrustpilotCONSTANTLY CHASING THEM FOUND…
NOW I AM CALM AND HAVE NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION WITH THE AGENT, I FEEL I CAN WRITE THIS REVIEW;THEY ARE ALL SMILES WHILST DISCUSSING THEIR PRODUCTS IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME. YET ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR SIGNATURE ON THE DOCUMENTS THE FUN STARTS....YOU WILL BE CONSTANTLY CHASING THEM FOR UPDATES, WE FOUND THE SERVICE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, WE WERE LIED TO ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WERE ALLOWED TO VIEW OUR PROPERTY, WHO WERE NOT IN A FINANCIAL POSITION TO BUY. THEY WERE EVEN ALLOWED SECOND VIEWING.HIGH PRESSURED SALES, CONSTANTLY TRYING TO PUSH FOR US TO GO WITH THEIR FINANCIAL ADVISER SERVICE FOR OUR MORTGAGE. THEY COMPLETELY STRESSED US OUT, WE HAD TO CHASE THEM FOR UPDATES ON VIEWINGS, IF WE CALLED THEM THEY NEVER RETURNED OUR CALLS. THEY NEVER EVEN INFORMED US WHEN THEY HAD RECEIVED AN OFFER FROM A PROSPECTIVE BUYER. WE PAID FOR A SERVICE WE CERTAINLY DID NOT RECEIVE... MY ADVICE TO YOU IS SHOP AROUND, THEY DEFINITELY DO NOT GO THE EXTRA MILE......

Just want you money and will lie if need be. We were charged £150 for photos (no other estate agent charges for photos to be done ) but we were told if we sold through them it would be refunded! Lies!!! Also no estate agents to do viewings as all too busy (not sure what service I paid for) very disappointing! These are just a couple of issues I had with the sheldon branch! Avoid.

TrustpilotPressure from mortgage broker
Booked me in for a viewing and then got harassed by their mortgage broker to come in for a meeting. I refused politely as i already had an AIP but they wouldn't take no for an answer. Consequently they cancelled the viewing and haven't allowed me to view another property since. Luckily i purchased another property from a different estate agent but having spoken to several people and agents about my experience, this apparently in addition to lieing about false offers is common practice amongst many estate agents. Please government, put in some legislation to police these agents.

TrustpilotFirst time buyer nightmare
I am a first time buyer and it's really sad that my first experience of buying a house has been such a bad one. Only good thing is that I'm going to take my custom elsewhere before paying any money. It all started with me seeing one of their morgage advisors and in all fairness it was a fantastic experience and made me happy enough to start my search for a house with burchell edwards. We was approached immediately after our meeting with a very pushy estate agent booking us in for a viewing, which we went along for and actually loved the house. So we began the process of making an offer on the house on question. When our offer was rejected we decided to up our offer because we liked the house quite a lot. We started to get pressured by the estate agent as she had a lot of viewings for the property. So we decided to up the offer again, and then found out the they had withheld information and it was in fact leasehold. If we upped our offer the property would be free hold on completion. So we upped our offer, with the guarantee that the property would be free hold.We decided to use a recommendation for another morgage adviser, not through burchell edwards and this is where the service quickly plummeted. We was made feel guilty for choosing another advisor and was told that our accepted offer was no longer standing as they had accepted another offer. (I wonder if they are staying within burchell edwards for their morgage)? Overall we had a really poor start to the housing market. Communication was poor, we was misleaded and fed false information. When our offer was accepted it was no longer viable because we decided to use somebody else as our morgage adviser. I would avoid burchell edwards at all costs, horrible service, rude staff and a very patronising manager (Castle Bromwich Branch). Will never use again to buy or sell a future property. I thank them for such a poor service though, because ive not had another experience like them since.

TrustpilotIf I could give this company zero stars…
If I could give this company zero stars I would. Beware sellers, because a lot of your potential buyers either don't get to book a viewing or make an offer unless they allow themselves to be bullied into meeting with Burchell Edwards mortgage advisor even if you already have a full AIP in place. We stopped viewing anything that Burchells had on sale, which was a pity as there are a few we may have purchased. Thankfully we are currently buying through another estate agent where we had a totally different experience

GoogleUnacceptable. Not only did the landlord refuse to reimburse for £100 spent tidying up the unkempt garden on moving in, but they deducted a further £100 from deposit return on moving out to "tidy up" a garden that was in a far better state than when taking on the property. This after 6 months waiting. Burchell Edwards were agents and useless. Scammers. Avoid.

GoogleI have just sold my house with Burchell Edwards Ripley and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. They initially valued my house at a little higher than I was expecting and I was a little nervous about trying it at the higher price but James gave me the confidence to trust him and go for it. Within one weekend I had got 7viewings booked in! 6 days after we went ‘for sale’ we accepted an offer very close to our asking price! So pleased with the service the team have provided me; I will be recommending them to all my friends and wouldn’t hesitate to use the Ripley team again in future.

TrustpilotPoor and lazy real agency
I have been calling this agency for the past 3 days with zero response to my calls and emails. No one ever answers the calls, the agents do not reply to any emails. What’s the point in advertising properties for sale when you are too lazy to respond!

GoogleComplete liers and very inderhanded, refused to help us with our purchase unless we used there services. Already had a mortgage offer and deposit but threw it back in our faces, would have lost the sale if not for the vendor and solicitor ! Many laws have been broken and even verbaly abusive to my wife. Avoid there services and avoid any contact if you can. Deal with seller as they will lie to your face . Even refused to allow a mortgage survey unless we gave them all our private financial details. YOU DO NOT NEED 3 months wage slips, bank statements and employers details along with a mortgage offer JUST TO MAKE A OFFER ! Theres so much more to say but not enough words 😡😡😡

GoogleAlexandra and Molly provided amazing service from start to finish with my first ever rented property. They both kept me in the loop with potential delays and were always on the ball with any questions I had that needed answering.
Really impressive service and I hope Burchill Edwards is aware of how great these 2 employees really are. Protect these!!!

TrustpilotAmazing staff!
The first time I went into burchell edwards, the staff were very polite and welcoming. Me and my partner spoke with Alisha who showed us round some of their properties and Emily helped us with final details of our application to rent our home. They were super helpful and we would always choose Burchell Edwards if we ever needed to move.

TrustpilotGreat service
I found a property to let through Burchell Edwards. I had Lisa throughout the process who was efficient, timely and honest throughout the entire time. Any query or concern Lisa always contacted me to reassure and let me know exactly what was going on. Upon collection of keys Lisa also ensured all health and safety guidelines were adhered to. Excellence service and I’d recommend to anyone. Thank you again Lisa :)

TrustpilotUnethical treatment
Unprofessional, unethical and extremely pushy. I have never had an experience like this before where the agent and the vendor wanted to dictate to my partner and I whose services we could use in terms of an advisor. Withdrew our offer as we found a better place, but I would not recommend BE at all. Steer well clear. They make you feel as if you owe them something! Awful experience!

I am a professional landlord & moved over to Burchell Edwards (B.E. ) Some five years ago. I have completed numerous Lettings through B.E. & always found Emily to be extremely competent. Since Christmas 2023 we have completed on three new tenancies ( most recent 25.06.23) and all went smoothly.

TrustpilotPushy salesman only willing to progress…
Pushy salesman only willing to progress your offer if you use their in house mortgage broker which are no cheaper than a comparison site but charge you £600 for the privaledge. I would never use these to market my house, they get more commission from selling a buyer a mortgage than the sale of your property. They do not act in the best interests of the seller.
