Good estimated rent, tenant and competitive fee

My experience with Gibbs Gillespie has been largely good. Their estimated rent was good and they achieved it for me in reasonable time with good tenants. Even when I developed cold feet, Claire assured me and ensured that the objectives are achieved in full All this was done for a competitive fee as well. Due to the nature of my tenant (insurance company paid rent), there were a couple of delay in communication which could have been averted which is more of a learning point for Gibbs rather than a complaint. I look forward to a long relationship with Gibbs. Highly recommend.

Very poor experience overall. When we first arrived the house had a litany of issues - no operational shower, bath had a major leak, toilet seat hanging off. These things were resolved eventually but it took quite some time. After each 12 month period they put you on a new contract with a new 6 month break clause, so long term renters will need to expect that inflexibility every year. On leaving the property, we had the carpet professionally cleaned and spent a whole day cleaning the property. There were a couple of things that needed some extra work - some time spent on the kitchen and bathroom for example - maybe 2 hours worth of cleaning total. They charged us £420 for this, which is the cost for a full professional clean. If I had my time again, I would not have bothered to clean the place at all - what’s the point, they will always find something which is not perfect, and then send the bill for the full clean. Same for tidying up the garden - £150 for 1 hour's work. For landlords - they will accept a lower rental offer in order to get people on their no deposit scheme, which means more money for them and less for you.

You were very helpful in explaining the English process of house purchase and sale which is so different from the Scottish one - which is the only one I was familiar with. During the purchase of my house, you kept in touch on a regular basis without being asked. Excellent service at the uxbridge branch

Long story short the purchase of a new property is very stressful and my solictors (Hannah Solictors) did not make it any easier for me. However, Kasia who works for Gibbs was dealing with my case and did an exceptional job, ensuring that all matters were dealt with in a timely manner. I would never again choose Gibbs to sell a house

I chose Gibbs Gillespie to sell my parents home as they agreed and achieved a good price for the property, for this they get the one star rating.Before the property went on the market, I had to organise the EPC, correct the floor plan, chase to get the list of clients for the open house and a photo of a bedroom was missing. There was no continuity, three different Move Managers dealt with this sale, all of them were useless, they couldn’t even spell my name correctly. I always had to ring them for an update and ask them to chase the purchaser, the mortgage offer and his solicitor. I had to remind them to do their Move Managers work, in fact the last one said if I needed a job to contact her!!!. Throughout the whole process I received no customer service and the communication was terrible, the only time Gibbs Gillespie contacted me, without me chasing them , was when they wanted their Invoice paying, which they then sent direct to my solicitor with no copy to me.Please bear this review in mind when choosing an Estate Agent to Sell a house, Gibbs Gillespie will get you a good price but then you’re on your own.

This is only the 2nd ever review that I have ever left, but Gibbs Gillespie are so deserving that I had to make the effort! I had been trying to sell my house in Rickmansworth on and off for the last five years or so, we would have it on with various local Estate Agents as well as Purple Bricks and for one reason or another it would not sell. So we ended up in a painful circle of attempting to sell it and then giving up and trying again with an alternative estate agent every year or so. It was a lovely house but there were things about it that some viewers saw as a negative and it put buyers off. Danny and Philip were especially excellent at turning those negatives into real positives and managed to get me an offer of the asking price within one week and my wife and I were over the moon. Danny and Philip did everything they said they would do and were so professional, Danny was especially helpful with the process after the offer had been accepted and acted as an excellent go between for us and the buyers, I felt i was in safe hands every step of the way. We are renting at the moment , but when the time comes to buy again we are hoping that the house we will want will be marketed by GG as I now have the confidence in them that the buying process will be as smooth as the selling. I have been meaning to pop in and say thanks personally but but being especially busy has got in the way.
