AVOID JDW AT ALL COSTS

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not subject yourself to the JDW Weybridge office if you can avoid it - they have provided easily the worst service we have ever experienced. We have been renting for 3 months in a JDW managed house. There are multiple material ongoing issues from a leaking roof to broken heating and the agent does not do anything about - for months. We have a 1 year old child who is suffering constant sickness now. They have lied to us about repair parts being ordered and have not held the landlord accountable for fixing anything. Jazz Dillon is of particular incompetence. She has promised us a call with senior management and of course, radio silence.

It has been already two days since signing the rent agreement and paying upfront the full rent for a year yet the keys not released. I don't recommend to use JDW's services for real estate rentals. It is a total disaster and frustration.

First time buyer - just completed on the purchase and have moved in.My experience with Andrina Craig of John D Woods had been outstanding from start to finish. She was warm and personable, in which I felt comfortable in being honest with her regarding my thoughts and questions. PLEASE READ!!! Very disappointed and lost all trust in this agency. I signed a 1 year fixed-term contract with a 2 rental payment system. The first payment was a 6 month upfront, and the 2nd one was paying the leftover 6 months' rent after the first initial 6 month. They tried to charge me another month of rental payment because they didn't organise well enough to find a new tenant after my stay. Jason T, who was one of the letting agents, used the excuse of me not giving them a 2 months' notice, which wasn't stated on my contract and threatened me by emphasising the term "by law" that I will have to pay the rent until they find a new tenant. I stood up for myself and replied to his email, and told him that I would not pay any extra rent or payment outside of my fixed-term contract. After my email, he went radio silenced on me even when I enquired him about other things outside of the contract matter. As I proceeded to find another property, they purposely gave me a bad reference which lead me to a lot of trouble getting the property I was accepted to, but luckily everything got solved on my end and I got the property I wanted. The bad reference they gave me was that I was only 3 days late for my 2nd 6 month rental payment. The referencing company also said it was unnatural for them to do that, and it was highly possible because of me rejecting their demand for that extra 1 month payment. I rarely give any reviews, but this time because of this agency I was almost at a point of being homeless with the referencing problem and of course the 1 month rent scam. Please think twice before signing a contract with this agency.

Meeting Simon completely changed our painfully lengthy house hunting experience. He embodies everything you hope an estate agent would be. He engaged brilliantly with understanding our criteria, and establishing our search location down to specific streets. He had encyclopaedic knowledge of the style/layout of houses in different areas, and who he knew who may be interested in selling. He sensitively approached people not currently on the market and facilitated several viewings. We’ve just completed on a property we saw very quickly through him. Throughout the process he gave honest, frank help and has always been a pleasure to deal with. We felt like we were working with an expert and I’d definitely trust him to sell our house if we ever moved again!

Great overall experience when renting a flat in Fulham through John D Wood.Eduard Popa was extremely helpful with my flat search. He was able to address all questions about the property I was inquiring about in a very professional and reliable manner.Finding a flat in February 2022 when most companies and universities are asking people to come back to London had become an impossible mission, taking most of my evenings and weekends.I walked into John D Wood at 10am on a Saturday, and by 2.30pm, my offer had been accepted and one week deposit paid to secure the property. Eduard removed the property from the website in front of me to avoid any future misunderstandings. JDW LETTINGS DEPT HIGH ST WIMBLEDON - AVOID

The head of lettings in Wimbledon High Street cold-called me for months promising me she had corporate clients for my property, this was an untruth. From October to December, she tried to coerce me into dropping the price, advising me the 'market was particularly quiet' (old gem used by agents trying to scaremonger you into submission' I made two formal written complaints about this lady AC, and they were to respond to as per JDW's website statements. AC then tried to force me to accept two out of four tenants whose references were sketchy (one has only joined his company and the other was a Temp). AC then tried to coerce me into accepting tenants and rush through a gas safety cert which the company JDW recommended failed on my property (this later proved to be a false failed GSC). Out of the blue, I was asked to make my complaint to AC who responded to a complaint about herself!!!!! She then sent me an invoice for the rent for four tenants who have never entered the property and had failed references that were turned down. AC is. a bully whose sharp practice is supported by Ms Haskins another employee who is trying to coerce money from me on false pretences. I am outing this company.Normally I would respond.. however it did not end there, AC’s dept head from JDW HQ then started to bully me demanding I pay them one years rent even though no transaction or tenant was supplied ( due to FAKE references). The bullied me to the point of a breakdown! This company knowingly lied to me- tried to brush over trying to take 12 mo the fees and simply kept badgering me up to recently.
